Deedlit
OOC: Sorry I haven't posted much. -------------------------------------------- Elsyan-Don't worry. No disrespect is taken. I just think that this quest will become stranger and stranger by the day. Hunter-that it may, but all we have to do is stick through it. The group then continued on in silence. Little did they know of what was behind them, lurking in the shadows.
Jesus Chicken
Raistlin: (Looking back) Hmm... Interesting. Elsyan: What is it? Raistlin: Something, sinister, lurking in the shadows, behind us. Lacriox: He speaks the truth, I can sense it too. Raistlin: I can feel its presence, but I can't tell what it actually is. Lacriox: Nor can I, but I pray it is nothing too deadly, my episode back there has left me at half strength. Raistlin: SHH!! It's coming closer, it is better if we take it by suprise, than it take us.
The Unholy Newt
OOC: You know, if these encounters keep happening, we'll never make it to the city. They heard snarling from back in the shadows. The figures came out, it was more werewolves! Some of them were injured from the previous nights encounter and weren't too happy about it so they gathered reinforcements. And they didn't look to pleased either.
Jesus Chicken
Raistlin: Hey, Hunter, YOU'RE FREINDS ARE HERE!!! Hunter: (after slashing apart a wolf) THEY ARE NOT MY FREINDS!!!
The Harlequin
OOC: When has any rpg I have been in gotten anywhere? You know that I like to drag them out. IC:Lacroix leapt into the fray, his scimitars arcing up, the light glinting off them, before slicing down in a vicious X. A werewolf tumbled to the ground, sliced out of mid-leap. Lacroix rolled forward under the body before it hit the ground, kicking out with his feet and striking the next surprised werewolf in the chest. Regaining his footing, Lacroix finished in with a single thrust. Hunter decapitated one behind him, and Raistlin knocked one out. The battle was joined.
Jesus Chicken
Raistlin: (dusting off his hands) Easy enough. Lacriox: You're bleeding. Raistlin: We're all bleeding. Shall we search these corpses. This time, hopefully it's more productive. (the group begin to scour the scene for anything of interest)
Deedlit
OOC: Well, you don't expect them to just let it be this easy, now do you? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- While the group is searching the torn, battered, and dead bodies, Elsyan walks over to sit under a tree. She hated to dig through them. She waited until they were through before she stood up. Elsyan-well, shall we be going again? Hunter-let's take one last look around here first. Raistlin-for more werewolves? Lacriox-yes, and this time we need to make sure none got away.
Jesus Chicken
Raistlin: Oh well, over the next rise should be the castle, I see no harm in a simple search (The travellers spread out over the area, a few howls here and there. All of which were cut short soon after they had begun.) Lacriox: I do believe that that is all of them. Hunter: Yes, I agree. Elsyan: Shall we be on our way then? (The group then set off, and as Raistlin said, over the next rise, they beheld the King's Castle) Elysan: Truly a sight, is it not. (They all nodded in agreement)
Talon
Hunter was not ready for when Elysan grabbed his hand. He openly expressed his amazement at the scene, but he also squeezed her hand a tiny bit. Hunter:My word! 'Tis a beautiful sight! Elysan:Indeed it is such a beautiful sight. Hunter (under his breath):And a beautiful girl. 'Tis a shame I cannot be with her until my memory is restored, and my life is complete. I wish I could remember what happened before my father awakened me in his room, worried over my head. I was but an elven-child, though I look eighteen, I am two hundred and fifteen. Unfortunately, Elysan picked up on the last words he spoke. Hunter (under his breath): I love you, Elysan. Hunter began to slowly walk toward the castle, rubbing a fresh werewolf wound. Elysan stood in shock for a moment, wondering whether or not to join him...
The Harlequin
Lacroix stood motionless, as the others walked forward. Raistlin notices, and stops. Raistlin: You coming? Lacroix: You expect me to walk into a populated area? Raistlin: Oh. Right. Why not just kep your hood up. Lacroix: Because no man can keep his head covered in the Royal Palace remember. Respect for the King and all. I will remain outside, you peopel can go and find out what is going on. See you when the King is finished with you. Lacroix retreats off into the trees, disappearing immediately, as only one with elven grace can do. Setting up a small camp well out of sight of the city, he waits for the others to return.
Deedlit
The group then went on towards the castle. Elsyan caught up with them and smiled sweetly at Hunter. Soon they came to the huge stone fortress that loomed up high above their heads. A guard's head appeared over the ramparts and called down to them. guard-Who goes there? What is your business here? Hunter-I am Fox Hunter, this is Raistlin Majere, and Elsyan Eglaannûn. We were told that we would recieve our orders here at this castle. guard-Oooh. So you're the ones we've been told to watch for. But, one thing troubles me: We were told that there would be around 5 or 6 of you. there's only three. Hmmm.... *thinks for a while* Oh well. We'll open the gate for you in a moment. Soon the small group was inside the castle. There were many guards about, and soon about 5 guards walked up to them. guard-We were told to escort you. Follow me, please. The group was then led down a long chamber, up some stone stairs, then into another chamber with huge stone doors at the other end. Elsyan was looking around her, and Hunter noticed. Hunter-(whisper) What's wrong? You look troubled. Elsyan-(whisper) Something doesn't feel right here. An evil presence of some sort. It's disturbing. Hunter-(whisper) Are you saying that someone here, or the King, might be evil or something? Elsyan-(whisper) yes, but I don't think that the King is evil. (to both) Just be on your guard. They all nod and then stop right in front of the huge stone doors. guard-Wait here while I announce your coming to his Highness. the guard walks through the doors that were slightly opened. He soon comes back out. guard-Right. Follow me. The guard opened the doors and the small group was led into the King's Royal Hall.
Jesus Chicken
Raistlin: Amazing... Hunter: That it is, my freind. Elsyan: Yes it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Raistlin: There is but one problem other than Lcariox's absense. Hunter: And that would be? Raistlin: The kings absense. The group looked around, but the King was no where to be seen. Talon
As Hunter focused his mind, he felt that a dark force had swallowed the throne. He sensed the attack before it happened. He backflipped over the Black Knight before the demon's spear pierced his back. Soon, there began a horrible battle, as each of the party had two dark knights to fight. The battle lasted two hours, and would have lasted longer had Raistlin not learned that the knights also hated each other. Soon, the six demon's were fighting amongst themselves. The last one fell to a powerful roundhouse kick from Hunter. Hunter:Where did these beasts come from? Raistlin:I assume wherever the king has gone. Hunter:Hold, friends. I sense more coming. We shall have to scrounge the bodies and chat after we are done fighting.
Jesus Chicken
OOC: Right, I'll just go with it, Just as Hunter stopped talking, 4 more daemons appreared before the King's throne. Raistlin: Well let's get this over with. The battle was not that of a long one. Between Raistlin's spells, Hunter's howling and tearing in his werewolf form and Elsyan, basically killing them, the daemons were despensed with quickly. Raistlin: Well, shall you be joining us to plunder our foes corpses this time, Elsyan? Lacriox suddenly burst through the door, much to the disdain of the guards. Lacriox: I heard screaming, (see's Raistlin scouring through the bodies of daemons) But obviosly I'm too late to stop something kinky from hapenning. Raistlin: (stops and gets up) Bite me. Now before, Lacriox gets too carried away with what he thinks is going on. Are we going to attempt to discover what happened to the King? The Unholy Newt
OOC: Since when did I say that we had reached the castle and since when did I say that the king was being attacked by Demons? Jesus Chicken
OOC: Since when were you ONLINE AND POSTING!??!? If you just posted more often we would not get so freakin impatient. Well you're here now aren't you? Post something!
The Unholy Newt
As the last of the demons fell, the bodies just faded like they were not really there. After looking for a few seconds, they found the king hiding behind his throne. Lacroix: Come out now. The danger is gone. King: Thank you, noble warrior. Thou art all fine warriors. Now the reason I have call thee here, is to retreive an ancient artifact that was stolen from my family. It has been hidden in the dark lands of mine nemesis, Grak, King of Cthar. Thy task is to go and get it. Faretheewell. You are escorted out of the palace into the streets of the city. Cthar is to the east. Go forth and find the artifact.
The Harlequin
Lacroix sighs and starts off, resigned to more travelling. Although not a person to settle down for long, this was still annoying him. As he walked, he went over everything he knew about Cthar. Which amounted to basically nothing.
Jesus Chicken
Well this quest is insanelly stupid, thought Raistlin. All this travelling is a waste of time. Too much travveling and running into random monsters, Raistlin preferred a good old dungeon a few traps and monters, but this is not what he expected Raistlin: To Lacriox So what do you think of this "quest"? Lacriox: Personaly I think it is a wast e of time, if I had anything better to do, I wouldn't be here. Oh well, atleast we are getting paid. Raistlin: I say we screw the King, ad keep his precious artifact, for some fun. Lacriox: Sounds like a plan...
The Harlequin
OOC: People, just thought I'd inform those of you who don't know/care or both at I'll be disappearing for a week.
Deedlit
OOC: alright. See ya in one week. ------------------------------------------------------ Elsyan-How far is it to Cthar, anyway? Lacriox-they say it is hundreds of miles away. Hunter-Don't we have to cross the mountains to get there? Lacriox-yes. It's said that almost no one has made it past them. The group then continues on in silence for the rest of the day, only stopping at nightfall. OOC: sorry for a short post.
Talon
Hunter began to lighten up. His home was in the mountainous forest. He could show them, and give them a place to rest. He leapt over, telling Lacroix of the only High-Elf village to also house drow willingly. He also wanted to tell Elysan. As these thoughts bounded through, he realized that she was right next to him. He blushed fiercely, then set off with her, taking up the train end of the party. OOC:Sorry for a short post, but I'm hungry and can't type sh*t when I'm hungry. The Unholy Newt
OOC: If you think the quest is stupid, you could always attempt to take over the city and become the extreme overlords.
Jesus Chicken
OOC: I was joking. It's ok Newt. IC: The group had been travelling for days , but seemed no nearer their destination. It was obvious that all this travelling was taking it's toll on the heroes as conversations were few and any conversations they had were very short. They were travelling through a forest trail when they heard a deep primordial roar. Lacriox: I don't like the sound of that. Raistlin: Nor do I. Elsyan: Hunter, are you familiar with that sound? Hunter: No, and I have lived in areas like this all my life, and have never heard something like that. Whatever it is, it's not native.
