Abob walks behind Ben, slightly to his right. His quiver of arrows that is slung across his sweaty back is nearly empty. He is growing tired and his heavy pack that is filled with supplies seems like it is made of solid lead. His long knife that hangs from his leather belt seems to be getting heavier and heavier.

The day was almost finished, the sun was setting and its red light was fading fast. They could see the castle in front of them, less than a mile away. There spirits were lighter and the entire group was looking forward to a good nights sleep.

When they arrived at the iron castle gates a guard looked down over the ramparts and, seeing Ben, ordered the gate to be opened. The group walked into the fortress and took off their packs.

Ben: "We are quartered in the south tower, we will stay two days and Abob, try not to kill the bartender in the local tavern."

Abob: "*sigh*"

Indrid: "Watch it shorty."

Abob takes a step towards Indrid, but stops when he sees Ben giving him a stern look.

Then the group splits up, some go to the south tower to sleep, some take a look around, and some go to the tavern.

Abob decides to go to sleep. He picks up his pack and begins to walk slowly towards the south tower...

Tumini: Remeber I've got a spritish cure for you!!

Indrid turned but nothing was there for Tumini had already gone into a tree.

Lauren-So where are you going to go first?

Elsyan-To the bed chambers. I'm so tired.

Lauren-I'm going to look around. See ya later!

Elsyan-Later!

Elsyan walked towards the tower and climbed the stairs until she found the first empty room on the right. She opened the door and flopped down on the bed. It hadn't been easy ever since the journey began.

Elsyan-*sigh* I wonder how long it'll be this peaceful.

Abob walks all around the South tower, finally he stops in the turret and looks out at the surrounding area. The castle is surrounded by a forest, and Abob can see small animals moving in the trees. He Draws an arrow from his quiver, notches his bow and takes aim at a chipmunk, he releases the arrow and it whistles through the air until it hits the chipmunks head, and pierces it.

He laughs and walks to his room where he goes to sleep immediately, anxiously awaiting a new day, with new things to kill...

Lacroix woke around midnight, haunted by the usual dreams that plagued his existence. He knew why they happened, he knew he could stop them. He chose not to. They gave him an insight into his own soul, and into the twisted mechanics of the world. He rose up, picking up his scimitars and returning to the parapets. A nightly ritual at times, he faced the moon, and wondered if it was all worth it. As usual, he decided it was.

Tumini sat late into the night carving and filling her darts with her special poison, and sleeping potion two of her poison darts could knock out a fully grown dragon.. if it made it through their armour that is. And only a tiny prick from her sleeping dart could knock anything out for 2 hours. She brought forth her dart pouch and placed the tiny bottle of poison back along with her darts. she sat back on her branch with her back to the tree, totally bored. Sprites were used to moving continuesly so she started to figet.

Tumini: What is there to do tonight? Nobodys awake.

She heard somebody walk under the tree.

Tumini: Hello!whathavewehere? oh yay!! Time for some fun! he he.

After sitting in her room for a good hour, Siren became restless... She began to pace and mumble... Finally tiring of wearing out the floor, she went to the window... Throwing it open, Siren let the cool breeze play across her face... Opening her eyes revealed thunderheads towering in the distance... Flashes of lightning revealed it's rain-swelled eves... She smiled and blinked her golden eyes...

Siren: Rain soon...

Shaking her head she backed away from the window and crouched, begining the transformation to dragon... Using the dragons power she shrunk her form to the size of a small child... Dragons magic is very limited, including the change of size, night vision, transformation, and other small usefull skills... Siren shook her head...

Siren: I'm really gonna catch it from Ben if he finds me missing... But it'll be worth it... The coming thunder clouds will be fun to ride out...

With that she ran full tilt at the window and leaped through, her small form plummeting towards the cobbled streets... At the last possible second she spread her wings and pulled out of the crazy dive... Unable to resist, Siren let out a whoop of excitement as she beat her wings, soaring into the cloud

I'm so happy to see that you guys kept this alive while I've been gone, now it's time for a twist to the story. :devil:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ben awoke the next morning and immediately cast a spell. The spell, once cast, would locate all the members of his group. Abob was in the tower, making new arrows while eating a squirrel for breakfast. Arily was in the kitchen, cooking in his fire elemental form. Indrid was in the tavern. Ben smiled, Tumini must not have gotten around to using the cure.
He searched further, finding Tumini in a tree near the castle and the elves still asleep next to him.
But Siren was not to be found. Ben cast the spell again, thinking he had made some error. Again he could not find her. He went to the window, and cast another spell. A falcon swooped out of he sky and landed on Ben's wrist. He spoke to it in its own language, telling it to find Siren. The falcon flew off.
After several hours of waiting, Ben began to grow worried. Siren would not have stayed out so long. He knew that she had left to ride the storm the previous night, but he also knew that he ould count on her to be back in time to leave.
He decided to take it upon himself to find her. Using his magical powers, he turned into a small hawk. He launched himself into the air, caught the wind under his wings and lifted effortlessly into the air. Before he had gone a hundred yards, though, an arrow whizzed by his left wing. Abob was shooting at him!
Ben: < Abob, stop, it's me! >
Abob took aim again, apparently not getting the message. Ben flew faster, hoping that he could fly far enough to avoid the arrows. The arrows finally stopped firing and Ben flew easier.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It was a while later, and Ben was still flying, his hawk eyes searching everywhere for Siren.

Just then a crossbow bolt whizzed by Ben's head. He pulled up short, searching for the arrows source. No arrow or bolt could reach this far from the ground. Then he saw Lacroix, riding upon a dragon with a crossbow in hand. There were five gryphons flying around the dragon.

Lacroix: Here birdy, birdy, birdy. Here Benny, Benny, Benny.

Ben would have sworn if he had had lips. This was a very bad time for an attack by Lacroix. Ben turned away and flapped like crazy. While he was in a creatures body, his powers were severely limited. He would have to fight as he was.

The gryphons flew after him, beating at the air around them. They were quickly gaining on him, their large wings propelling them forward. Ben dove, as was natural to the hawk body. Diving, however, did not seem to be easy for the Gryphons, they sped down clumsily and Ben pulled up. He flew behind one and began tearing at the tendons connecting it's wings with his beak and talons. The beast fell, it's wings mangled at their base.

Ben screeched at another and the beast stopped moving. With its wings immobile, the beast fell and landed in a forest. Ben had cast a spell, focusing it through the screech.

Ben was beginning to tire when a great gust of flame roasted the other gryphons alive. It was Siren! The great dragon Lacroix rode on bellowed a challenge and flew straight at Siren. The instinct of a dragon to kill others in its territory overrode what little control Lacroix had been given over it. Lacroix vanished, leaving Ben to deal with the enraged dragon.

Siren was more intelligent than the dragon, being a human in her true form, bu the other dragon was larger and had thicker scales. There was a good chance that Siren would be torn to shreds.

Ben: < Siren, I don't think you can beat it. >

Siren: < I've figured out a way to deal with real dragons a long time ago, just watch. >

Siren dove, her aerodynamic dragon body hurtling toward the ground. The other dragon followed, slightly slower. Ben followed also, he did not see how diving would help. He soon found out.

Siren had led the dragon to a castle. Siren pulled out of her dive and zoomed away, above the castle. But the larger dragon could not pull out of its dive in time so instead it landed in the courtyard of the castle. It immediately forgot about Siren and set about to eating livestock.

Ben: < Clever, but what about the people in the castle? >

Siren: < It's a big castle, it should have enough people to kill the dragon. >

OOC: Oh, this should be good.

As the dragon returned home, followed by the other one, Lacroix swore and ran into his armoury. He had his weapons, but not magic. Asiding the few spells he always kept on hand, the ones that were inherent dark elf abilities more than spells. He ran back out, weaving shields and filters around his home. Let the damn shapershifter get through an anti-magic field. Should be very fun. To counter any possible counter spell, Lacroix added in a little twist. Any person directing or taking energy from the spell would be drawn into it, and the spell would gain energy. This would be fun, and messy.

Tumini heard strange sounds and woke up. In a daze she fluttered silently down to the ground from the small hollow where she had taken refuge for the night. She watched as Siren landed in the courtyard and changed back from her dragon form. Tumini started to walk towards Siren, but Tumini saw the hawk come down from the sky first. Sprites hate any bird of prey they also hate cats. Those creatures tend to like the taste of sprite. So Tumini dashed back to the tree in terror.

Tumini: OHGOD! Ifthatmonstersawmeindead! (translation Oh God! if that monster saw me I'm dead!)

ooc: I think my writer's block is starting to go away! YAY!! ^_^

Elsyan suddenly snapped her eyes open as sunlight filtered through the window. She would have woken up before dawn, but she was in a deep sleep with a strange dream. The memories still loomed clearly in her mind. She shook her head to brush it aside. She wasn't going to worry about the dream now. She hastily got out of bed and walked outside to where Siren was standing just as Ben changed back into his human form. Again, the dream popped into her head, but she cast it aside. She would have to keep it a secret until she was ready to tell them.

OOC: Well it was going well until the devil bird thingy, I lost it after that, but let's say that Lacriox has returned and the devil bird thing didn't happen cause I have got it after that. Lacriox has come along to confront us, obviously and has reappeared nearby Ben and Siren, any objections?

Okay, here's what happened.

I wake up at the castle.

I notice Siren is missing.

I fly after her, in the form of a hawk.

I get attacked by Lacroix, who is riding a dragon and who has several gryphons with him.

Siren flies in. She and I kill the gryphons.

Lacroix loses his control over the dragon.

Siren lures the dragon into a different castle, where it will hopefully be killed.

Lacroix goes back to his "home." He sets up anti-magic spells and such.

Siren and I return to the castle we ae staying at.

Whatsherface, the sprite, sees Siren land and change back to human. She considers saying hello, but sees me in the form of a hawk and is terrified.
