One of the best things about Cowboy Bebop is definatley, the music. It plays a big role in the show and is simply amazing. I love "The Real Folk Blues" and "Tank", they are both certified classics on my list. :p The only anime song I like better than any of these is "Through the Night" from Outlaw Star. Well, I was just wondering what other members here at OB, thought about the music of this series.

I have to admit, the music from Cowboy Bebop is extremely addictive, which I believe enhances the atmosphere when you watch it. Personally, I enjoy the music from Session #7: Heavy Metal Queen, which includes, ironically, heavy metal. I'm not saying that the other songs arn't cool too, because they are, I'm just listing this as a top favorite. My second favorite has to be the one when Faye gets back her memory, and Ed and Ein leave the Bebop. Maybe it was the heat of the moment, but that song really touched me deep inside.

My favorite songs from CB would have to be Tank and Rain. I mean, how cool is a theme song be that starts off with "3,2,1, lets jam". It's awesome.

Oh yes, the entrance song is most impressive. I currently find myself not skipping scenes on my Playstation 2 controller just to listen to that song at the beginning of every session. Three, two, one, let's jam! ::continues humming the rest of the song::

The music of Cowboy Bebop is probably the best of any show I've seen thus far. It always fits the mood perfectly...and the bebop jazz is great.

Tank! is definitely one of the best peices of the series, but my favorite is probably Green Bird, the song that is playing as Spike is having flashbacks while falling out of the cathedral window (Session 5). I forget if it's anywhere else in the series...it very well may be :)

I'm pretty sure there's four soundtracks...

Ah, yes. Green Bird. That one's pretty good, but I'm still set on Rain. That song is great, and it really sets the mood for Spike and Viscious's battle.

There are indeed four albums, and one "mini-album":
*Original Soundtrack 1
*Vitaminless (mini-disc)
*Original Soundtrack 2: No Disc
*Original Soundtrack 3: Blue
*Cowboy Bebop: Music for Freelance

I forgot about that one...it's definitely another great one. I agree with the mood-setting part, it's such a simple song, nothing foreboding about it at all, and the clash of a light song with the obvious foreshadowing of battle makes it wonderfully delicious ;)

'A' soundtrack? My friend, they have made three! There is "Cowboy Bebop: Original Soundtrack 1" (consisting of Tank!, Rush, Spokey Dokey, Bad Dog No Biscuit, Cat Blues, Cosmos, Space Lion, Waltz for Zizi, Piano Black, Pot City, Too Good Too Bad, Car24, The Egg and I, Felt Tip Pen, Rain, Digging My Potato, and Memory), "Cowboy Bebop No Disc - OST2" (consisting of American Money, Fantasie Sign, Don't bother none, Vitamin A, LIVE in Baghdad, Cats on Mars, Want it all back, Bindy, You make me cool, Vitamin B, Green Bird, ELM, Vitamin C, Gateway, The Singing Sea, The EGG and YOU, Forever Broke, and POWER OF FUNG FU REMIX), and, finally, "Cowboy Bebop Blue - OST3" (consisting of Blue, Words That We Couldn't Say, Autumn in Ganymede, Mushroom Hunting, Go Go Cactus Man, Chicken Bone, The Real Man, N.Y. Rush, Adieu, Call Me Call Me, Ave Maria, Stella By Moor, Flying Teapot, Wo Qui Non Coin, Road to the West, and Farewell Blues).

Those are just the three main ones, but there are indeed three more. One of them is a soundtrack of the songs located in the motion picture "Knockin' on Heaven's Door," and the other two are of some of the best songs in the series, of which can also be located in one of the three original soundtracks.

Due to the clear interpretation of the new rules, I will not post the site that you could purchase this from here, but ask that anyone who would like it would please PM me.

i also love the music. i wrote a thread entitled adult swim tunes a while back and it was about this very subject.
i think the coolest is the instramental version of the real folk blues that they play as spikes on the way to his end.
glad to see the threads here.

Yeah, I have to admit that the music is COOL, especially the intro theme, its kind of embarrasing about the "3, 2 ,1..Lets Jam!!" thingy, especially when my parents are in the room, lol...

Personally, animes have better music when in Japenese, for example, DBZs fight scenes have real cool music, but here in the UK with got something a little less promising....maybe for once we can have better music then in Japan!!! :)

I don't see why that should be embarassing..."jam" is an allusion to what jazz musicians used to do. The term is still used today for any sort of music when musicians want to sit around and play some improvisational stuff together :)

I would definitely have to agree with all of you, Yoko Kanno really does a great job on the music. The songs I like are, "Blue", "Wo Qui Non Coin", and especially "Papa Plastic". Sadly, I still can't find Papa plastic on any of the soundtracks. :(

You would only understand if you lived with my family...:D, lol. It becomes a bit of a catchy tune after that though.

And Chibi.....of course its better than Dragonball's English theme song!! lol :)

The end song is pretty cool though, "Be as brave as you can be, a child like love a fantasie, make your dreams come true, you'll see fanasy, magic can happen to you". Ok, back to the subject, "Tank" and "The Real Folk Blues" are truly some of the best themes ever. But as Seph already said, the "Heavy Metal Queen" song was nothing extroidinary. :)

Well ofcourse Tank! is a favorite but, I think that "The Real Folk Blues" is a very amazing track, as Justin said there have been times when I would skip through the whole show and listen to "The Real Folk Blues". But, I also have made my own soundtrack (what SS said) and well, it is in my CD player 24/7. I occasionally take it out to listen to my Outlaw Star tracks though!

Are you talking about the ones that I made for you? Heh, well as you said yes MY soundtracks are in his CD player 24/7. I am a big fan of CB, but he just takes it to another limit. He is always watching it when I come over to my house, he'll even go as far as to sneak dvds over to my house and watch them when I fall asleep. *shakes fist* even though I do the same thing to him woth Outlaw Star, that doesn't mean anything.

Dragonball is a perfect example to compare to Cowboy Bebop, song-wise. They are both rather impressive animes, but the songs in both differ, making them, in some aspects, more different from each other than anything else. Dragonball would example an anime with songs that are either just tunes, or are lacking indeffinitly. Cowboy Bebop, on the other hand, is known for it's exceptional song talent, especailly when compared to the songs on Dragonball, heh. That stupid ending song for Dragonball has to be one of the worst anime songs I've ever heard.
