Well, ive never played one of these games before, and I finally went to the store and got one 2 or so days ago. I havent made it really far, Im currently on Level 28, with my Ifrit on Level 24, and the others on Level 19.

I was made a seeD, and the instuctor was giving me one final lesson, to use "Sleep" on a T-Rex. With one problem though, I havent yet found out how to get it. If anyone could tell me how to learn it so I can progress, please do.

I dont think that it is something the Guardian Forces learn, simply because they already have nearly all their techniques learnt. Thanks to anyone who can help.

No, you don't.

1. You junction it to status attack.

...and...

2. it works just as good not on status attack. But what you want to do is make sure you have 100. Because the number you have, is the chance of it working. Like if you hade 65, then it would have a 65% chance of working.

I know. But they tell you to junction it to status attack, and he seemed to be doing what they told him. It's pretty useless junctioning sleep to status attack, because they wake up every time you hit them, then you have to do it again. Sleep is really one of the more useless status magics.

Useless yes, but damn good when it comes to the T-Rexuars on Island Closest to Hell... althou, having the LV DOWN ability kicks butt too... and if I were you, I wouldn't get your characters to be such a high level for your first time through the game... you'll see why if you read up in the [INFO] section of the [Tutorial] and take your SeeD Rank Written Test to raise your rank and get more Gil.

T-Rexaurs on that Island Closest to Hell always go down first shot with a built-up Squall at low health :)

But anyway, you don't have to fight T-Rexaurs to progress the story back then, I think, (not sure) even though it says that.
You just have to get to the hangout place, I think.
Anyway, I was useless at junctioning even that far into the game, so I just kept casting sleep on it ^_^
May waste a whole extra turn, and a sleep, but it seemed so much simpler to me back then
o_o;'

*Everytime I said I think, that's exactly what I mean. Doesn't mean I know, or I heard, but it means 'probably', or 'I can't remember if'

You guys are crazy, sleep is the BEST to junction to status attack...er...well death is stronger but doesn't work all the time. Yeah a physical attack will wake someone up from sleep, but magic and limit breaks don't! You can either draw or cast magic until the sleeping enemy finally dies, or use limit breaks, even Zell's and Irvine's will leave them asleep afterwards >=). Works great on almost everyone on the Island's closest to hell/heaven, cept hexadragons and Malboros of course.

Woohoo I'm a jr. member now.

If it's going to be affected by sleep, chances are it will be affected by the more useful ones. If you really want a decent junction, use drain. Preferably on Squall. If you're doing max damage, which you should be by that point, than you fully heal yourself everytime you hit something. Just don't run into any undead.

On Disc 1, the T-Rexaurs are affected by sleep, blind, berserk, and are weak against Ice magic. However, due to yoru low level at this point, I'd seriously recommend you beef up on magic and potions before taking one on.

After Disc 1, they will probably not be affected by sleep, blind, or berserk, but Ice magic will continue to be their weakness.

At no point during the game are you required to fight a T-Rexaur. During your first return to Balamb on Disc 2, you can avoid that battle by simply skipping the Training Center.
