Let see my walkthrough guide book... ok.

Chocobo ranch area:Poor and weak chocobos
Junon area: fair and poor chocobos
Gold saucer area:good and average chocobos
Rocket town area: below average(mediocre) chocobo
Wutai area: Average and Fair chocobo
Icicle Inn area: Wonderful and weak chocobos
Mideel area: Great and fair chocobo.

I would recommend the Mideel area.Do not get a chocobo below average ok???But you don't know which chocobo you have anyways.

to do with chocobos
i got a guide that sais you can get to enemy skills of chocabos
but how do u get chocobuckle of one of them?
they have to attack you with chocobuckle then you learn it dont you?
go to mideel area, make sure one of your characters has the materia "enemy skill" equipped....

walk around the chocobo tracks with chocobo lure equipped until you engage in a battle against a chobobo and some monsters....

feed the chocobo some greens....

while it is busy eating, kill all monsters EXCEPT the chocobo, and 1 monster must be left alive and unharmed....

now cast the enemy skill, lv4 suicide, and the chocobo will retaliate with chocobuckle....

It'll only counter with Chocobuckle if the Chocobo is on a level that's a multiple of four, though; otherwise, Lv4 Suicide will miss. You'll probably want to use Sense on it first, to make sure it has a level that's a multiple of four.

And mastering All Materia goes pretty quick, actually, with the Apocalyps and Scimitar. Just go and fight the enemies in the forest around Mideel. Groups of three enemies gives you 240 AP, and groups of four enemies gives you 320 AP.

240 AP x 3 = 720 AP per fight.

320 AP x 3 = 960 AP per fight.

It takes 35,000 AP to master an All Materia, so, at the very most, it'll only take about 50 fights to master five of them (if you have all the slots of the Apocalyps and Scimitar filled with them). 50 fights really doesn't take that long, if you're towards the end of the second disc or on the third disc, because you'll be killing the enemies with one hit each using your normal attacks (the stronger type of enemies around there only have 2,000 HP).

To move on to the next limit break, you need to kill 80 enemies, to get the 2nd limit break of a level, you need to use the first one 8 times. So after you use braver 8 times you learn cross-slash, and after killing 80 enemies you learn blade beam, use blade beam 8 times and you learn Climhazzard, etc. Once you learn all of the lv1-3 limit breaks, you just use the lv4 limit break item and you'll learn it. Sometimes you kill 80 enemies before learning the 2nd so you might have to go back if you want the lv4.
I'm a little late with this question but I have something that may put a block in your limit break formula. I have Barret in my team. He is about level 35. Hi limit breaks are like this.

Limit One---------------------Limit Two
Big Shot-------------------------Gernade Bomb
Mindblow------------------------___________

Limit Three--------------------Limit Four
Sattelite Beam------------------___________
___________

As you can see I'm missing the fourth limit break of his, Hammerblow, but still have Sattelite Beam. I honestly don't know how this happened. I didn't use a gameshark and it happened when I was going through the Cave of the GI. I find this very odd and would be apreciative if someone could help me.

I already explained that, you don't always have to learn them in order. After you learned grenade bomb, you must have killed 80 enemies (learning satellite beam) before you used grenade bomb 8 times (to learn hammer blow), that's it really, happens a lot. I know I had to go back and use low-level limit breaks to get them all for level 4's =\

Lv4 suicide? I'm pretty sure those weird little things around Chocobo Ranch use it. The guys that use gold mountain and hot springs, tiny lil guys in a rock or something ::scratches head::. Chocobuckle's not too useful tho, it does more damage the more you escape from battle, mine did around 14 =\. I GUESS if you feel like escaping a bajillion times it'll be a strong and cheap move, but otherwise, unless you simply want to get every enemy skill.
