Kent
ankalosis is wear the pointy end of you tooth, (the end going into the gums) develops in a funny way causing it to possible hook under your jaw bone. yours truely had this problem. first the orthodontist (for now on i will call him ortho) saw a baby tooth that wasnt going anywhere, then an adult tooth under it. he told me the process would be simple, just remove the baby and the adult will grow up. we removed the baby and the adult didnt pop up. so he decided that he could just hook a bracket to the tooth still an inch deep in my jaw and gums and just pull it up with my other teeth as an anchor. well guess what, it just pulled all my other teeth down. now the bottom left side of my bite doesnt even meet up and i cant bite through food. so even with out telling me my options and ensuring me a simple procedure, he went on with his plans and charged me for them all only to ruin my teeth. then after all the money and screw up on his behalf, he told me i could either let it ruin my jaw for the rest of my life or i could pay more to go into an even more radical surgury and get my jaw surgically broken and then wired into proper allingment. well i didnt want that. so now ive got bad teeth and ortho bills out the wazzu. all the while i have to worry about how i cant do anything because it was a few years ago when it happend. so now i have a big problem because i have found out that my jaw is all out of wack and if i dont do surgery now, i may pay for it later with an even more sever problem that woulnt be easy in any way to fix. has any one else gotten the shaft from doctors, dentist or orthodontist? whats your story? Kinetic
Well, my grandmother got charged big time for glasses, and he asked her if she wanted to do it the way he wanted, she said no, and he did it anyway. But yours is way worse. You should sue, because that is wrong what he did. -Chibi

Amphion
Im sorry, that has to suck. I have not had many problems with doctors. Onlything I had happen once was my parents got billed twice for the same thing, It was a but load a money too so they here not about to be forced into paying it again. After about 3 years they finally worked it out.
amibasuki
a while ago, I had to get a filling for one of my bottom teeth. anways, the doc was supposed to shoot the novocaine into my gum, but he somehow ended up sticking the underside of my tongue. it felt like a wasp had stung me in the mouth. I couldn't talk w/out slurring and spitting all over the place for hours. I could have kicked him.
Stitch
well "I" haven't had that problem but my brother has:p yeah they said that they were going to give him braces for 4 years then they would break his jaw and move it BACKWARDS and then give him braces for another 3 years just beacuse he had a slight overbite by 5 millimeters! so my mom said no and they chared her with a surgery he never had!!! :flaming: :flaming: :flaming: and worst of all they took the money out of my trampoline savings account so now i don't have a trampoline which i was looking forward to 4 like 3 years and i have been saving up my money forever!!! ~GG~
Guest Matt
Well, I have had no problem. My teeth used to be screwed up, my my orthodontist said I needed braces. He said I would need them for 4 years. He took them off after 3, because they had worked better than he thought. I also had my wisdom teeth removed, and no problems. there either. I seem to be very lucky. Also, if someone charges you for something that you didn't do(ie surgery) sue their azz. They cannot charge you for surgery that you didn't have. First though, complaine to the doctor/dentist. If they don't do anything, SUE! They can't charge you for surgery that never happened.

Kent
yea it sucked big time. luckily i seem to be able to heal very quickly and i never had too much phisical pain. but, the trouble it has caused me and the trouble im gonna have to deal with in the future is just rediculus. i hope this stuff doesnt happen to any of you. also one more thing to remember is that even though it sucked and was a whole lot more trouble then it needed to be, it had to be done. and when thats the case you just gotta role with the puches. no matter what. just keep truckin.
