Anime Chobits

What? Chobits? Another one of those cute pokemon games? Then I saw one word that made me give it a chance -----> CLAMP

I know... I know... another CLAMP anime title. But from here we can expect...

1. Cute Girls ----> (lots of 'em) check
2. Cute Guys -----> none (whoah!)
3. LOVE ----> It's CLAMP
4. Angel and Devil Wings ----> none (whoah!)
5. Sorcery and Magic ----> more on technology
6. A little dash of homosexuality ----> we'll see...

Actually this seemed like something different from other Clamp related series. It's a love story about the relationship between a persocon (robot in the form of a human) and her owner. Of course I wouldn't patronize love stories if there was no ----> humor. The first two episodes really made me laugh so this has replaced "Fruits Basket" on series to be borrowed list.

Probably most men wouldn't like this type of anime(not much action) but if your looking for a promising new title this is my bet. So now I'm looking for info about this anime: number of episodes, licensing, possible OVAs, anything is welcomed. Thanx a lot.

I want to see the anime, but I've only read the manga now. It was so funny! Althought I thought Hideki and his friend were kinda cute..... O.o I love the technology scheme they have. I like tech stories like that. ^^ I have no clue about the anime, though...

I envy people like you. It's hard to get any form of manga here in our country. What makes it worse is that 100% of my CLAMP fanatic friends think that the manga versions of any CLAMP series was much better than the anime version.

Hideki is more like Kintaro(Goldenboy): the more you get to know him, the more you like him. Hideki's character doesn't have that bishounen appeal that Rantis, Kamui or Yukto has. What he lacks in face value he makes up with his attitude.

It's kinda cute how Chii copies every single movement of everyone around her.

It's even funnier when she copies his Porno mags.....lol. Hideki would be cuter if he didn't have such fat eyebrows. Yeah, he isn't exactly a bishonen, but he's still sweet cute. Chobits would certainly be a good title to see in anime. The whole tech thing will look even better on TV. Tokyopop is being so good. They're releasing all these new CLAMP mangas, like Chobits and Angelic Layer. Both have that tech appeal, although Angelic Layer is more like Card Captor Sakura. But anyway, Hideki is like Sakura's brother, touya. He looks exactly like him. He looks more like a normal college student than Bishonen like Kamui.

You know who I really like? Shimbo's laptop, Plum. She is just so cute! I wish I could have a persocom laptop that could fit in the palm of my hand and look as adorable as her. ^^ I just love her!

Really haven't noticed the fat eyebrows (that's why the art seemed a little different). I don't know about the manga but in the series he was portrayed as a somewhat rural folk who was a little obsessed with viewing Internet porn sites. His little perversions really made him that funnier.

Yes, it seems CLAMP has somewhat gone towards technology rather than magic in both Angelic Layer and Chobits. Robots, machines, science, it really has a different feel from X or CCS. I really have to admit that I'm not familiar with Angelic Layer (just saw 2 episodes). These days we are watching Fruits Basket and Child's Toy and now comes Chobit so we don't have that much time to watch Angelic Layer.

Shimbo's the guy with the small, pink persocon right? I felt sorry for him when the persocon got broken while trying to access Chii's systems. What a waste.

Lol. Yeah, although he immediately fixed her. ^^ Hideki is so funny. He [i]is[/i] obsessed with internet Porn, yet he treats Chii so well. He's all modest with Chii. It's sweet. I don't know if he had bushy eyebrows in the anime, but they were certainly there in the manga.

[color=crimson][size=1]I was going to start a thread on this series, but here it was, waiting for me! I was at Media Play tonight and I saw the manga, and I bought the first volume. I haven't finished reading it yet, but so far it is SO cute, and I love it. It's CLAMP, so I was REALLY wanting to get it, and it isn't disappointing at all. And CLAMP's manga is better than the TV stuff because it goes more in depth in my opinion.

And Plum WAS adorable. It was funny when she became disfunctional all of a sudden, though. I think the idea of computers being shaped like sexy women is a little absurd, though. I wouldn't let my little sister read this series..

I like stuff like that. The nudity is a big disturbing because I'm not a perv or anything, but you definately don't want to be letting younger siblings read it. Just becuase of all the sexual situations, also.[/color][/size]

Yeah, Chobits is deffinitely more mature than MKR or CCS, no doubt about it. Tokyopop rated it liked 16+, which is probably a reasonable rating. I wouldn't want a younger kid picking it up, also because of all the porno talk, and all the implied use of pretty girl robots. ^^;;

But it's still a good idea and I definately give CLAMP snaps for coming up with another awesome and original series with REALLY cute artwork, as usual. I wish I was as inspired and as talented as them. Oh well, I guess I'll stick to my own anime artwork style.[/color][/size]

yeah, Chobits is cute alright. But ..... ya know, it must just be me in this world -__-;;; but I really don't like all the nudity for crying out loud. I mean sure the chick is bound to mess up a couple times with the whole ignorance to the purpose of clothing thing :rolleyes:, but with all the porn insinuatives...... agh, I dunno. I just don't get into that. It just gets old for me, seeing a little naked girl running around. Come on now, every 25 seconds there was some sexual referenace in that manga. Yes, it's cute-it's CLAMP-but I can do without this one.

yeah, the nudity is kind of a put off, but it's so darned cute i can't resist but rate it as CLAMP's second cutest manga (angelic layer being the first!)
