Mnemolth
From time to time I may write something, or post something I have written, or something I have read, that might have relevance to those visiting these Boards, either intellectually, aspirationally, or just for fun. All comments, critique, anger, sympathy, or just riotuous laughter welcome. Enjoy! ;) To Dream To dream of Heaven Within the bounds of Earth, To pray for peace In an age of war, To love When all around is hate, To sleep When everyone is awake. Alas to dream... is to hope to wish to be to live.

Mnemolth
Rhyming is over-rated. ;) Here is a poem that does not ryhme but has a rhythm all its own, and should be read by every highschool student before they get into any serious study of poetry. Its by your very own poet laureate, Billy Collins. Introduction to Poetry I ask them to take a poem and hold it up to the light like a color slide or press an ear against its hive. I say drop a mouse into a poem and watch him probe his way out, or walk inside the poem's room and feel the walls for a light switch. I want them to waterski across the surface of a poem waving at the author's name on the shore. But all they want to do is tie the poem to a chair with rope and torture a confession out of it. They begin beating it with a hose to find out what it really means.
Mnemolth
Babylon 5 quotes: "There comes a time when you look into the mirror and realize that what you see is all that you will ever be. Then you accept it, or you kill yourself. Or you stop looking into mirrors." - Londo "The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote." - Ambassador Kosh
