Charles
I purchased Stuntman, earlier this week, and it's better than I thought it would be. The most negative aspect regarding this title, is the somewhat average graphics. On one hand, the shadow effects are admirable and the amount of action being carried out onscreen in abundant. Also, it's quite a pleasure to plow through objects and watch the carnage fly and your own car become damaged. Yet, the visuals still leave something to be desired. Reflection's unique racer seems to suffer from dithered texturing and choppy animation. Also, the somewhat washed out colors are easy to look past, the animation can truly effect one's performance. So, if you've read reviews claiming such, they're accurate. Despite these shortcomings, this title really manages to shine. I was a bit turned off at the concept of playing an elaborate rendition of "Simon Says," but the sheer variety of stunts delivers a somewhat enjoyable experience. Reflections' enlistment of 30 year pro Stuntman, Vic Armstrong definitely paid off. Although, you might find yourself overtaking vehicles quite a bit, or driving through narrow openings a little too often, more elaborate stunts, such as the corkscrew and racing underneath collapsing smokestacks freshen the gameplay. I'm also pleased that vehicles other than conventional automobiles have been thrown into the mix. So, what do you guys think about this game? I feel that the unique premise at least warrants a rental.
Sephiroth
I don't really know what to think of this game, it hasen't been released yet, so I can't rent it out.... Golgo 13 has been looking forward to this game though.... as for me, I'll see what its like when I play it....
Semjaza
I bought Stuntman on a Monday, because I couldn't find ED anywhere (despite stupid Nintendo saying it'd be out that day). I personally don't have a problem with the graphics. The car damage is done rather well, and overall I think it's a little more impressive than GTA 3 in some ways... but GTA3 also had a hell of a lot more going on. The concept of this is pretty good, unfortunately in real life it just comes off like "do this and that EXACTLY how we tell you or you lose." Which is good and fine for music rhythm games, but just isn't for a car game of any sort. Like I said in another post a while ago, it feels like Simon Says. Things do get more complex later, but really it's just more of the same thing being thrown at you at a quicker pace. Overtake this, nudge this, hit that, turn here. The whole aspect of being a stuntman and participating in a movie is rather cool. And almost everything is made up for by the stunt creator, which simply kicks ***. I am not sure if I'd reccommend it or not in the end, it's kinda equal in it's low and high points. At least worth renting.

I gather the game shipped Monday, but wasn't actually put onto shelves until Tuesday. Anyways, I'm glad that you too realize that it's not quite fair to compare this game to Grand Theft Auto. For some reason though, a lot of people think that every game with a vehicle in it, has to be compared with GTA3 now. I agree with what you have to say though. The game is pretty challenging, but I'm not sure about the replay outside of stunt creator.....
Guest ProudClod
This is by far a stunning game, the graphics arent that bad, but it is a bit familiar to Driver gameplay wise, and I never was a huge fan of it. Hopefully well be seeing something a little bit more promising than Driver 2, since it was very dissapointing. It hink that the main problem with these type of games are that they are little bit too reppetitve, where you carry out the same jobs/missions over and over, just that youve got to whack a different guy.
Originally posted by Sephiroth Golgo 13 has been looking forward to this game though....
For some reason my brother (Golgo 13) doesnt seem to shut up about car games, oh well, lets just hope that this one will!!! :p

Charles
Originally posted by Golgo 13 So ur saying its good then, but nothing extraodinary or special.
Well, that all depends now. The concept of Stuntman is fairly unique for a vehicular based video game. Factually speaking, the formula of "simon says" is generally used in music games. The overall focus of this game is similar, but in a more interactive fashion. A director will speak to you and tell you exactly what to do in career mode. Obviously, the gameplay is on rails and you have little room for creativity. So, of course, you're limited to carrying out the actions laid out before you. However, since you have the ability to save replays, you're free to have fun and beome more daring as you become more skilled with the game. As it's been said, this is definitely a rent-first title. The Vampire: Ed
From what I've seen so far, it looks like a fun game. The graphic, while aren't special, I still think they are pretty good. But definitely no where near as bad as Driver 1 or 2 graphics. I had both of them at one time, and I returned both in under a week. The Driver games were horribly boring, and annoying. Driver 2 was basically a cheap rip off of GTA games. But doing stunts in Stuntman, and seeing them come together with CG after you finish a movie it rather cool. I think it's a great game, and the concept is pretty cool as well. Especially since, to my knowledge, it has never been done before.
Mitch
Don't get me wrong, I like this game to. It's just that I got so frustrated when I had to do one single stupid little stunt 30-40 times before I could beat it. This really brought the fun of the game down a lot for me. But one thing that did make up for that was the Stunt Maker. Heh, I got so sick of trying to beat the game, I just cheated. And I rarely cheat, unless I've beaten a game. It was just to frustrating for me.
