mmmmmmmmmmmm, SPAM. I am new and I already know the rules, you should read them sometime. As for Akira, it was one of my first anime and just bluntly awesome. I love it! I recomend it for everyone. ;)
Edit - First of all, pro_kai I didn't realise mmmmmmm, meant mmmm yummy! at first. Sorry, I may be a kid, but that still doesn't give you or anybody else for that matter to shut-up.

Well, if you keep on acting like that and start spamming a lot, the moderaters wil start to care.
Exactly. This is not a place for senseless bickering. I suggest you two stop right now. And Twinzam is right. This should be posted in the other Akira thread that has already been made here.

I just recently saw Akira. It was great. Although I didn't understand the ending completly, it was pretty good. I like these kind of deep anime's. If you like Anime, then see this movie.

I've seen it and I thought that it was just ok. It is really overhyped. There isn't a lot of action, but there is a lot of violence. That may seem to be kind of odd but stay with me. See I classify action as intense confrontation or battle. Violence is pretty much slaughter and is someone murdering someone, not in a actual battle. The animation is very good for such a old show. It's about a boy who gains this power and he uses it to destroy so its up to this other boy to stop him. It's a little more complicated than that, but it's the basic jist. There isn't really any scenes that are memorable. It is fairly average movie. What's weird though is that the movie is half the manga. The movie is the first three chapters of a six chapter manga. They altered the movie ending, so there is no possible way for a Akira II unless it doesn't follow the manga or they make some big changes.

Ever since people have been talking about Akira I've wanted to see it, but it's only been coming on on the Action channel, which I don't have. It's the same way with Ghost in the Shell and Princess Mononoke.

This may sound stupid, but if you want to watch or read Akira, run a search on it at your local library. That's where I found all the books, and found out that my library has it on video and DVD. I'm checking it out ASAP.

Back in 1989 I saw Akira for the first time and being used to cartoons here in America this brilliant piece of now classic anime stunned me. I had never seen anything like it and to this day still consider it to be in my all time favorites. If you really want to see what anime is all about this is a definate must own for all die hard anime fans. This is just one mans opinion. Later........
