Krillen
Ok heres the story. Im at the very end on the 4th disk. Every once in a while you have to fight a boss, I have just defeated Ifrit which is the 2nd boss, and the upcoming boss I have to fight is Kraken. Right before each boss there is a save spot where you can switch your party members and rest. My party members most of the time are..... Zidane, Vivi, Steiner, and Dagger. Now here is where it gets messy........I have no High potions or any kind of healing potion, which defeats the whole purpose of the Auto-Potion Ability or any other type of healing item. I have no ethers or elixers to regain back my MP for Eiko and Dagger, which makes it so that I cant use healing spells, Black Magic spells, or Eidolons. Ok, and here si the bad part, I have NO tents what so ever. As of now my party members are on low health and low MP. So basically I would have no chance fighting a measly Oglop. I am about to give up on my 40 hour adventure therefor I have no clue how I can resolve my problem. So I ask for help from all Game Gurus who may be out there. I need some place to find ethers, lots of ethers, which is my main problem, also some tents. So if you could help me out I would be ummmm.......really really happy! Guest Zeh
well... i'm a little rusty of FF9 as i haven't played it for awhile. If you can get your chocobo, you're saved... you'd be able to get to either a town or do the chocobo quest. Or get to a town... but i'm not sure if, from where you are you can get back to a town.... so i can't help ya... bleh.... i need to play FF9 again soon. SephirothNIN
Hm...out of everything huh? Well if Freya has learned the move 'Reis Wind', that'll restore MP to everyone, depending on what enemy you're facing. I've had it suck away 120mp or so against kuja and other magic-type bosses. Otherwise....run like crazy out of Memoria and ride your airship out of there is the best way to go. Then make sure u have plenty of tents and hi-potions. Oh and don't bother w/ auto-potion, at least not in random battles. In boss battles it saves u some healing, but if you have auto-potion on all the time u'll just end up potionless....er....like now. The Harlequin
Isn't the second boss Tiamat? If you've got anything that lets you absorb water, leave it at that. Another thing that would have helped was Auto-regen, combined with Auto-haste. Makes a lot of fights easy. Combined with water resistence/absortion, Kraken can easily be defeated by simply attacking him. I'd be mor worried about taking of Hades immediately afterwards (if you intend to), then Kraken though.
vaporjolt
If I were you, I'd give Zidane or Steiner Alert ability, so you're protected against back-attacks and then have Zidane use Flee all the way back to the entrance of Memoria. Get back on your ship, find a town and heal and save. Then, I'd go to Deguarrio (sp.) and fight Grand Dragons for Exp. and Gil. Level up your 4 best characters to level 50 (takes about 15 min. even at level 30 if you have Level Up ability on characters. Quina can instant-kill Grand Dragons using its Level 5 Death Blue Magic (Grand Dragons are level 60). You can steal Tents and Ethers from Grand Dragons, too. Make sure you purchase some healing items before venturing out again.

And it will take me a hell of a long time to get out of Memoria. I was aming for 40 hours. Is 40 hours average for how long it takes to beat this game? Or is it higher, I hope its higher. Oh yah, and what enemy does Quina have to eat to learn level 5 Death? One more thing, what item gives you Auto haste? Id really like that Item. Dante the Demon Slayer
Daguerro is on the back of a mountain near that group of islands. (archipelligo or something) By the chocobo lagoon. Also, just use skills that give back magic, then use cure, then run like heck! Save as often as possible, and use ur airship to find daguerro. There is good training and a good shop. Oh, and if you run into a gimme cat, dont give it money and try to kill it with one attack.
vaporjolt
Quina can learn Lv. 5 Death from Eating the undead whales on the shores of the northern most continent (can't remember if it's "Lost" or "Forgotten"--it's icy). Auto-Haste can be taught from the "Running Shoes" accessory.
Axel--Ignition
On your question about a decent time, 40 hrs is good, you could do 50 and still be ok. I did all the side quests and it took me 196hrs on my first try. My second, I was going for Excalibuhr II and beat it in 10 hours. On your heavy predicament, look for a save point, it will have a 'return to Invincible' or something like that. It will teleport you back to your ship and you are free to explore the mist-covered world again...
