Fall
Originally found on.....some joke site Recent studies have found that there is a more than likely chance that one of your family members, if not one of your relatives, are living in the old days, most probably near when they were born. Here's 10 ways to see if someone in your family is living in the old days.....or rather 6.....10 just sounded better. Anyways, here they are: 1- They are always hogging the television watching some old film in black & white. 2- They usually have the radio on full-ball playing an old song (e.g. one by Elvis Presley) 3.They have a photo album packed with old photos of people yoou haven't even heard of/seen. 4.They have a 5-shelf bookcase crammed chock-a-block full with old records, and have a very old record player. 5. Have a 30 year old radio or television, maybe even an old car. 6.Has recently placed a complaint to the local council about the shutting down of the local drive-in 10 years ago, and won't give up complaining until it's opened again. *
*Of course, this article isn't true. I found it on a humour site. :D Though I've thought about it, and I've noticed that my.....dad...has all of those characteristics. I mean, he even combes his hair old-fashioned. He plays records of these artists I haven't heard of before, nearly all day when he is off work (Sundays & Mondays), he goes to work in this really old car, and yes, he has even placed a complaint about the shutting-down of the local drive-in. What about pictures of people I haven't evven heard of? Yep, all over the walls of the computer office. And I've recently looked through the box of photo albums. Out of 9 albums, about 6 of them have old photos, torn and what-have-you..... Not to mention, I have a few relatives like that, but they're nowhere near as bad as dad. I just wanted to know, is this a common thing in your house-hold?
Juu
hmm.. my parents don't do any of that stuff, lol. They're always up-to-date........ I haven't heard my parents give any 'in-the-old-days' lectures.
PrettygurlRei
My dad plays old 50's but hes not even that old! and so does my mom. ugh. I hate that music. While they play it in the car, I hum eminem, alien ant farm, cake, custom, and anything else I heard that morning. Now with the lectures I always make fun of them. I have heard some like I had to walk fifteen miles in snow just to get to school. And others, but I wont go there.
Mist
My parents are very modernized whe it come to material, but when it comes to morals, whoa buddy...you can't get any worse then them...well, if you're Amish, the you could be worse, but you get my point... James
My parents are pretty good, mostly. They listen to old music...slightly old music...new music...etc My parents even steal some of my CDs sometimes. lol So they aren't really old fashioned people at all...
The Harlequin
Half the time I steal my father's cds. But then, I grew up with late 80's, early 90's rock. Despite my age, I actually like that stuff. And it's pretty easy to steal my father's cds. At last count, he had something only just below 500. My father is hung upon music, so it's to be expected. But my father's great, especially since my mother died. It's my hick cousins I have to live down... 14th time...
Chaos
"Well, if those things make you old fashioned, then I'm old fashioned." -Neh's Mom 'Nuff said.
Utena_Tenjou
The only thing I could really say my parents do on that list is listen to old music. They only listen to new music when they want to listen to country music or my sister makes them :p (wich is usally stuff like eminem, lincon park, and korn.) zidane11
Some of my relatives certainly meet those requirements. Not all of them though.
Fall
Just remember, those requirments probably aren't that serious, after all, the article is meant for humour. ....though my father does alot more things old-fashioned, then those on that list. -_-
amibasuki
my mom's really not that bad. she likes to 'borrow' alottuv mine and Anna's clothes, and doesn't mind listening to stuff like System of a Down (unless she's got a headache or something). my dad's still living in the 60's though. actually, he hasn't matured a day since he was 9, but that's another story >.<'. all he ever listens to is his oldies collection. if he's not listening to that, he's listening to some dumb baseball game. it was so bad when he DJ'd (or popped CD's into a stereo system  ) a church dance we had. Anna had taken almost a month to find almost 2 CD's worth of good music to play, but the whole time he played almost nothing but his oldies or some pop Britney Spears song. plus he keeps going on about how he had to pay his parents alottuv the money he made working jobs, and is expecting me to do the same. I'm gonna keep the money I make, thankyouverymuch. it'd be different if we needed the money, but I can tell he doesn't need money if he just got himself a brand new cell-phone and laptop. the thing that prolly makes me the sickest is that he has the old-fashioned idea that he's the 'king of his castle' and that the husband of the household doesn't have to do jack to help anybody around the house. it's bad enough that all he does is sit around watching tv and that he expects his wife and kids to do every little thing for him, he treats my mom like some dog he can order around. basically does the same to us, but she's his wife, for crying out loud. stupid jacka.ss. my mom would've divorced him by now if she hadn't married him before she went to college. blah, ANYwho... Guest Saiyangohan2002
My Mum is pretty modern, she likes all the new songs and her old ones as well :p, my dad has only 60's and 70's hits, but he is not as much into music as ,me or my mum. I Like a whole lot of their values as well, they are testaments to the fact that not all old things are brown, yucky and leave a terrible aftertaste ;) .
