Grand Turismo 2 Help

Your best chance would probably present itself if you purchase a vehicle with front engine rear wheel drive (FR). This type of drivetrain is ideal for amateur racers because it provides a neutral feeling when going around corners.

It would also be best if you master tapping the gas and brake. This tactic will prevent you from spinning out whilst also decreasing your chances of oversteering and understeering.

By the way, you're supposed to indicate the name of the game that you need help in when creating a "Help" thread. I'll fix it.

Too bad there weren't pressure sensitive controllers at the time. That course is fairly easy though in that it's all about control rather than absolute power. FR's are the most fun to drive and also the most powerful cars. If you're a "heavy-foot" (er heavy thumb) then maybe an Front engine/front drive or 4WD will work better for you in that they tend to not spin out, but rather to understeer.

i am a huge gt2 nut. i would say to use the 3000 gt LM. the four wheel drive helps. i would also agree with all the people above. gas and brake technique and car selection are pretty important.
i also want to say i know a little gliche in the system only on this board. if you go backwards at some point on the track and just go nuts, out of control, full speed and then try to catch air on one of the small hills and if you do it right the game will throw you off of the course and into a never ending flat land with no boundries. you can get a true top speed test on this. i managed to get the toyota gt one 98' LM up to 275 mph. it will work just give it some time.
o yea, one more thing. what would be considered a good driver?
gold on all medals. how good are you all.
and why didnt they put any of the m cars from bmw in?
why did they get rid of the mercedes clk-gtr LM?
thanks.

Um a good driver would be
1. having all or almost all gold license(I'm missng one.)
2. Has finshed the game with all gold trophies.
3.Has finshed both games
4. Has an adittude and confindence that they can beat anyone any where at anytime.
5. Or just have been racing a long time, and know alot about.
If you disagree add whatever you want about it to your standers.

Oh yeah for #2 Imeant to put in with gold and sliver trophies.

I managed to get all golds for B-class (a great way to start off the game without having to buy a less powerful car)...but the Super License is incredibly diffiult to get silvers or golds. Well, now that GT3's out, I'm working on that, which is a lot easier since there's ghost cars that'll motivate you.

I think a good driver would be someone who can break into the apex or intert drift, and exit on the outer side of the track at full speed, when you see the replays, it's a work of art. And whoever can master the fine tuning (in numbers) of their personal car is truly exceptional. My current cars in that game are the TVR Speed 12 (massive torque and oversteer) and the Lotus Elise GT1 (very well balanced for battles). Too bad you can't do a car transfer from GT2 to GT3...

yea, i still havent played gt3 but im looking forward to it.
i thought i would come out and say my little story. the deal for me is a long time back when gt2 first came out i got silver on all licenses, including the super. then one day while trying to rearange my mem. card i messed up and "corrupted" the data. i had to start from scratch. so i did. i have since taken a new approach and have all gold for all licenses except the 4th challenge for super and down to the final super. ive got gold for the rest. i have also learned how to tune cars really well. mostly using ride hieght and camber. my fav. car is the cerbera LM tuned to my liking. i managed to put up a time of under 51 seconds on tahiti road and did it just to beat a good lap with the pike peak escudo. it was hard because the engine power isnt the strongest but i honestly believe that the cerbera LM is the best handling car of them all.

I do agree but I still think what makes a good driver a good driver is having the adittude that he or she can beat anyone, anywhere at any time. That is usally what separates the ones who are detrimed to do what they set out to do, than ones who are less detrimed to do as they wish. I'm sorry if I hurt any bodys feeling threw this post.
But I still agree with every bodys rules but isn't having a goal in racing a good thing that will drive you to win?

You get used to it after a while...the most frustrating was in GT1 in A-Class...trial mountain, 2 corners...omg...I think that prepped me up for the other GT's.

~ Thinking that you're faster than everyone else does give you a ton of motivation to win, combined with skills and patience, the'd be a very potent opponent. All my friends don't really provide the challenge I'm looking for in that game, whether it be their skills or intimidated by my reputation as a person who's completed all three GT's legit...
