Guest Frost
Hello, Im new here, been watching the show for a while now. I came here as I ran into something confusing and wanted to know the answer. I know in the funi version Mr.Satan is Hercule, but I downloaded an episode from the Buu Saga. It was one of funimations since it had the same english voices etc. But one of the scenes had Hercule looking for anyone alive and hollering, but he called himself Mr.Satan? Kinetic
It's probably uncut, or something. I would imagine that if you buy the tapes/DVD's that it's not as edited as it is on Toonami. I don't know though, because I haven't bought any tapes or DVD's. Mitch
Or, it could've been fan-dubbed (meaning some person put the english dialouge in). Or maybe they just decided to use Mr.Satan for once.
Guest Frost
They edit them more? I figgured once funi made the episode thats how it ended up on CN. It wasnt fan made unless the actor that plays hercule did the voice for it.
Omar Harris
It was an uncut version of the show. The anime you see on TV is trimmed down when brought to America for the general audience (everyone and their grandmother). The show on CN is in its most edited form (for 7 year old and up) while the uncut version on tapes and DVD is for 13 year-olds and up. Mr. Satan is, well, Mr. Satan in the uncut version and Hercules on CN's version for obvious reasons.
Zenkai Powa
They call him Hercule Satan. So in the Uncut ones that's what you will sometimes here. However they are still edited.

Ah yes, the religious connotations in DBZ ( I made a thread about this, explaining why the name was changed) ;) Just as long as there is not going to be a charatcer called Mr. Sx Hundred an Sixty Six :p
Sephiroth
If you watch the uncut dubbed episodes, "Hercule" is known as his proper name, Mr Satan.... But these episodes are not as uncut as you think they are....
vegeta rocker
hahaahah well being satan isnt that much of a stretch for hercule.
Sensei-San
Sephiroth is right. You will only see Mr.Satan in the uncut episodes of DBZ. Which is why you will see him addressed as Mr.Satan in various websites and so.
Juu
Mr. Satan...Hercule. Simple. I listen to the japanese versions, so I hear the real voices/names. I got the Tournament begins dvd, so the crowd was cheering "Satan! Satan!"

Darkened Skye
Hey! Don't dis Hurcule. Yes, he's full of himself, but then again, give him some credit: He is the strongest human on the planet who hasn't been to some alien world or something. He's not weak like everyone's making him out to be, in fact, past Roshi, Yamcha, Krillen, Videl, Uubu, and Gohan (who kind of counts), and probably a few others I might of forgot, he's the strongest human. It sounds like a lot of people, but keep in mind that there's six billion people on the planet. He's definately in the top twenty, and he should technicly be within the top five because his next closest going up stands head and shoulders above him. Just because he can't shoot out blasts of KI energy doesn't make him weak.
Chaos
To vegeta rocker: You DO know it's pronounced "Satin", like the cloth, right? In any case, yeah, don't knock Satan! :mrt: He'll kick anyone of yall's asses in a heartbeat. Cept for me and Seph... Seph because...Seph is Seph... And, well, I'm me. *cough* Ja... I've lost it again.
