is anyone going to see this movie, or already have seen it? I just seen the previews of it, and it looks pretty cool. and because Mel Gibson is in it, I'll most probably go and see it.....well, also 'cause it's to do with alien stuff. :D

just wanted to know people's opinions on it, because I'm planning on seeing it.....and anyways, has been out in the US or anywhere else yet?

No, I believe it's coming out August 2nd in the U.S.

This movie looks like it's going to be really good, alot because all of the crappy movies this summer. This summer really disappointed me. But anyway, this seens to be a must-see for me. "There's a monster outside my window, can I have a glass of water?" That just seems hillarious, yet thrilling...

Hmm, that might just motivate me into seeing it, lol. :)

I think that the movie looks great. It looks like it will spook you out, and at the same time give you their own description of intelligent life from space.

Obviously their going to use the marks in the field as a message from the 'aliens,' but the question remains: what are they saying?

And I suppose it would also be interesting to see them, unless..."ET phone home." ;)

I saw it around noon, and I thought it was pretty good. The surprise hit of the season, so to speak, lol.

It had almost everything in a good movie. It had mystery, comedy, anger, horror, and especially thriller. I didn't think the beginning had much of a plot though, but that's a different story.

**SPOILER**

As for the plot itself, I've come to a few conclusions. First of all, I believe that the kids had a 'sixth sense' for aliens and what to do. It was as if without them, the grown-ups would have been clueless. That, or those two kids were just plain weird.

Also, it is my understanding that the little girl dreamed up the whole thing. She dreamed up her brother having an asthma attack, and she must have drempt about the water-weakness as well.

**END SPOILER**

I actually thought it was pretty scary at times. It kept me at the edge of my seat, for sure, and I would not mind at all seeing it again.

I saw it yesterday. Wow, I was blown away. One of the best movies of the entire summer. It had the right mix of everything that makes a movie good. It was pretty scary, but I like that. A must see. The whole presentation package was great. And just the way the story progressed made it even better. All I have to say is go see this movie.

I just came back from it, it was good. The aliens look kinda like orcs and Gollum from tLotR, very good movie indeed. Wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. Poor Houdini and Isabella:(

Warning Spoilers: What kind of moron reads a topic about a movie without expecting there to be spoilers?

I saw this movie, and I really enjoyed it. I thought it took an interesting approach to the "alien invasion" story.

The fact that they do not show the aliens until late in the movie is a great touch. Suspense is a million times more frightening than horror... all of the noises that the creatures made in the darkness left a lot to the imagination. Once they began to show the entire alien, the movie began to lose its touch.

Halfway through the movie I began to think that the little girl was an alien. Why else would she be so picky about what water she drank? And when the father explained to her that she was born with giant eyes... it seemed for certain that she was from another planet. I was wrong though... which is a good thing.

All of the acting was very good. I especially liked the people in town, I thought they were all very funny in those scenes.

The ending was a little bit of a disappointment. I was honestly expecting all of them to die, but I guess that would have made a few people very upset.

All in all, I think it was one of the best movies I have seen this year. I highly reccomend it to everyone who enjoys to be scared out of their mind.

Yeh, that scared me to. You know, you were like where is the alien, then out of nowhere, poof. That's what I loved about this movie it kept you on the edge of your seat the whole time, not a little of the time.
