Not sure if this game is out yet, but has anyone played the demo or seen any screenshots? What do you think? I personally felt that it was a good attempt at something different, but it gets old after awhile. BTW, sorry if you guys already have a topic on this.

The game has been out for months now. Eidos released it on their Fresh Games label along with Mad Maestro... which I feel is an infinitely better game. But then again I'm a music game freak.

Mr. Mosquito gets old quickly, there just isn't all that much to do.

We did have a topic concerning this game quite a while ago. But I'll allow this to remain open, considering the age of the other thread. :)

The nature of this title seems rather repetitive to me.

Although the somewhat quirky concept of parodying Japanese subcultures whilst playing as, of all creatures, a mosquito, earns "unique points" in my book, the overall fun factor just isn't there.

The gameplay itself contains problems concerning collision detection, which hampers the enjoyment ever more so. However, the title can be somewhat challenging and does contain plenty of bonus items to uncover. Visually, the blurry graphics aren't too impressive, but the scope of the environments and colossal size of the Yamada family provide a tad of visual splendor.

I would pick this one up from a used bin. Overall the game isn't bad per say, but there are far superior titles on the market that you could spend your money are.

It?s pretty obvious that mosquitoes don?t live a very engaging life. Perhaps, they may have some fun, but for the most part, they just fly around looking for some unsuspecting victim in which they can then suck his or her blood. Ironically, this is essentially the plot behind Mr. Mosquito. As a tiny mosquito, you?re placed inside the Yamada home. In their home, your objective is to, one by one, snack on the various members of the family. Each level calls for you to target a certain family member

To some, this may sound like one really stupid concept, and to others, this may look very fascinating. One thing, however, is for sure, Sony has definitely thrown all their crazy ideas out on the table to make, possibly, the most unique game since Parappa the Rapper. Whether or not Mr. Mosquito is good, it should be pretty enticing mainly because you get the opportunity to explore a whole new concept in video games.

Learning how to control Mr. Mosquito is critical in getting your blood and also to out-maneuvering the gigantic humans. It?s very intriguing, to be able to control such a small creature, that would likely be unimaginable as a main character in a video game. The most important aspect of flying is to learn is how to mix the turning with the speed. So, in essence, controlling the mosquito is partially similar to a plane or helicopter--learning how sharp you can turn at different levels of speed, managing your direction correctly, and so on.

Mr. Mosquito, or Ka (Japanese for mosquito).... Heh. EGM said there was no chance in Hell Sony would fly that bug over to the US. Guess they were wrong.

Anyway, Mr. Mosquito, while oddly entertaining, is certainly buggy (No pun intended). The music is horrible, the controls are lose, and it's nearly impossible to beat. But the controls, as far as layout-wise, a definatly inovative. Almost on par with Ape Escape (Heh... Good times).

But rent this one, folks. If you feel a need to pick this up, get it at a garage sale or something. Or just save your money up for GTA4... :tasty:
