I just want to know what game moments stick out of your minds that you would consider to be the best.
Well me personally I am just going to name some games that I have played recently.
5.Wrestlemania X8:3D threw a table for the first time.
4.Star Wars Rogue Leader: Destroying the Death Star with the X-Wing
3.Medal of Honor: Frontline: The opening cut scene when you storming the beaches, feels like your actually there with all the special sound effects.
2. Metal Gear Solid 2:When Snake,Raiden, and Otacon leave the control room and the music hits just makes you feel all tingly.
1.Grand Theft Auto 3: When I got home with the game and started it, enough said.
Yeah my list isn't that great but I am sure I can think of something else thats not as recent.

Metal Gear Solid: When Fox died. That will always go down in my book as one of the most emotionly-clashing moments in games ever.

Final Fantasy VIII: When Rinoa and Squall talk in the pilot seat of the Ragnarok. That, for some reason, was cool for me.

Driver: Then end of the game. That was just awesome.

Police Quest SWAT 2: When I figured out how to make my group of terrorists...^_^;;;

I've made the SPOILERS ridiculously hard to read...

Final Fantasy VII: The death of Aeris. Possibly the biggest tear-jerker scene in Video game history. Quite frankly, nothing else comes close.

Metal Gear Solid: I have to agree with Neil on this one. Frank Jaeger giving his life to save his former nemesis was astounding.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Well, how many plot twists were there in this game? I'll just sum up the whole thing as one big plot twist.

Final Fantasy IX: See; 'State of Emergency'

State of Emergency: Returning it the next day!

Sonic Series: The music. I love the music in this game. I love it.

Final Fantasy VIII: I liked the bit where the Ultima Weapon rises up from the Deep Sea reasearch center--Actually, I liked the whole center in general. That bit was cool, and spooky.

Hm...there are a few very memorable gaming moments for me (in no particular order):

1) First playing Super Mario Bros.

2) First playing Super Mario Bros. 3

3) First playing Super Mario World

4) First playing Super Mario 64 (see a trend here? lol)

5) Aeris' death in FFVII (probably the most emotional moment in a video game that I've ever witnessed)

6) First playing Zelda: Ocarina of Time (since it was the first 3D version of the game)

That's all I can really think of for now...

You can see that I'm a big Mario fan lol. The Mario games have always been so far ahead...and so innovative. They've never failed to impress me beyond anything else.

hmmm....well I am just thinking of these off the top of my head...here we go.

1) The Ending to Final Fantasy III(6 Japan) that was great. One of the best Final Fantasy Endings ever
2)*thinks really hard* Well yeh when Aeris died, I was like what:eek: how could this be happening!:bawl:
3)No one's mentioned Chrono Trigger??? That game was GREAT there were so many cool moments it makes my head spin, especially the final fight with Lavos was really schweet. And then inside him that was schweet....
4)Beating my friends all the time at various games. That is also great. It just gives you this certain pride to know that you can waste any of your friends:D

That's all I can think of so far........

Let's see.....*cracks knuckles*

Final Fantasy VII, the part after Aeris dies, where Cloud sets her to fade in to that lake. Seeing Cloud let the woman who could've possibily been the love of his life go like that really got me in an emotional vulnerable state.

The end part of FFVII, the Final Battle between Cloud and Sephiroth, the snap shots of the close-ups of Cloud and Sephiroth readying for battle really impressed me. The atmosphere was awesome too, the music, the background, etc.

The end sequence of Super Mario World, I could just sit down for days trying to memorise all the names of the baddies, lol.

Finally......the debut of Yoshi. Seeing that cute lizard crack out of his egg to make a swift appearence almost made me burst into tears of joy. :)

I have a BIG list of my favorite moments, so I'll see what I can remember.

1) Aeris dying..... I haven't made it that far, but when I saw it in the guidebook, I remember saying, "She's gonna come back right?". I wonder how I'll take it when I do make it to that part.

2) Arc the Lad 1 & 2.

3) Lunar 2, the ending of both the main story and the Epilogue(sp?)

4) The ending of FF3/6

5) Chrono Trigger

The Death of Fox in Metal Gear Solid was definitely an emotionally charged moment and sticks out in my mind as a prime example of how Konami blurred the line between big budget film and video game. Although Snake was a battle hardened veteran, whose hands were infinitely stained with blood, he actually showed compassion for his enemies.

Plus, we learned that the villains were human also. Wolf died regretting what she had become, even referring to herself as a dog. It was a beautiful thing to see when Snake reassured her. The fact that Hal had to witness his friend and would be lover battle to the death, only heightened the experience. Such power scenes were nearly nonexistent in Metal Gear Solid 2.

Final Fantasy X also provides one of my favorite moments in gaming. The ending is incredibly deep and superior to the finale of any of Square's masterpieces in quite a while. Once again, emotion and artistic direction played a heavy part in making this ending so memorable.

The love between Yuna and Tidus was so strong, that, even though he couldn't physically touch Yuna, he placed his arms around her to show his love. I also liked when he slapped Jecht's hand after he leapt from the ship.

GoldenEye007 also brings back plenty of fond moments. I remember making up all kinds of games with my friends. I remember when we would have one guy disarmed, while three others would hunt him in the Bunker stage. Once caught, we would take him to the prison (loaded with remote mines, mind you) and execute him, lol. Great stuff.

Playing the Bull Arena in Tony Hawk 2 via multiplayer also brings back a lot of fun memories. The scores we achieved in that stage were insane.

The last fond memory I will have is when I beat the crap out of Sephiroth in online Tekken. None of you will ever hear the end of it. ;)

1) Beating Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle: Turtle in Time with my brother for the first time. The ending of the game wasn't so great, but I enjoyed beating the crap out of the enemies with my brother.

2) When Magus joined my team in Chrono Trigger.

3) The death of Aeris in FFVII, it was truly sad.

4) When Mareg risked his own life to save the others in Grandia 2.

5) The joy of playing Super Mario 64 all the way to the end.

6) The first time playing Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.

SWAT 2: Making sucsessful negotiations with suspects and the poppin a cap in their arm and arresting them. Keke..

MGS: Charlie-Kid reminded me of this. When Wolf died. I, yes I even shed a single tear during that. The music was perfect, the tones of their voices, the way the wolves howled. That was the first time I'd ever had to bow my head during a game, aside from Fox's death. But Fox's death just stunned me. Wolf's death...cut through my heart.

I guess there still is a part of me that has some good in it. ...MUST KILL GOOD! AIIIIIIIEEE!!!

*looks at James's list, 1-4* Good God, James.

You liked the ending of FFX? Well I beg to differ. I couldn't stand the ending, it just wasn't very good. But the love between Tidus and Yuna, as you said, was pretty cool. I can't believe that you liked the ending...the ending to FF7 was way better.

Yes, it definitely seems as if people generally disagree on this particular ending. So, I'm not too surprised, heh.

I just happened to admire the artistic approach and overall presentation. After playing the game through and seeing both Tidus and Yuna become close and help each other smile through hellish times (literally laughing out loud in one scene), the emotionally charged ending just proved to be one of the more memorable for me. All of the characters were easy to become attached too.

Final Fantasy VII's ending had it's moments, but focused too much on flash. Plus it was unclear and too inconclusive. Although, it is fun to debate what might have happened.

I know that this discussion would be great in the Final Fantasy forum, but in the end, it's just personal preference.
