Gaming ace combat 4, help needed

i need to know any general hints i can get and i need to know one more specific thing.
how can i beat the fifth mission?
the first encounter with the yellow squadron.
i just rented the game and i want to be able to make what i can of it. it could be a cool game but its just too much for me as is. thanks for your input, ace.

You cannot defeat the Yellow Squadron yet.

Simply head South as quickly as you are able to. Once you cross the "Return to Base" line, the mission will be complete.

And some simple hints would be like anything while you fly.

1) Roll to the sides a lot.

2) When turning, increase your speed.

3) When a missile is locked on, go straight up at full speed, then pull up to the point where you're facing down, and the missile should've lost you during the loop.

4) Use accelerations and decelerations as needed. Accelerate and dodge during dogfights, decelerate during temporary Zulu times.

5) Most importantly, shoot them before they shoot you.

i also just by chance have found a nich for the game in the last little bit, so now im doing better. i also by the way, had been fighting it out with the yellow team this whole time and couldnt figure why they were so damn good. i wasnt doing bad considering what i know now, and how i had been fighting with them. ha. thanks alot.

roger: this is like twenty minutes later in an edit and i just wanted to thank again. im kicking but now that i got past that level. staying there and fighting with yellow squad all that time made me much better and now ive got tons of planes more and the average enemy is half as good. thanks again.

Ah a fellow Ace Combat pilot..... Shoot...... CWB already answered your question.....oh well. The only time you can acutally hit one of the Yellow Squadron pilots is the Shattered Skies mission. You can only hit one guy since after you hit'em they all run away! When they do it makes the mission alot easier. The next mission where you can actually kill'em is Emancipation.

Don't worry too much on how good they are. The moves they pull can only be done by the computer. Which totally sucks since they dodge missiles as if they were a mile away. Also to get the best plane in the game you must at least beat the game twice and beat the game on hard. (I think thats you unlock it) . The jet you get is the X-02 which is hands down the best (and coolest) fighter. The Black one is my fav. If I'm not using that then I use the S-37 which is one very agile fighter.

thanks, im lucking out i guess because my skills are increasing greatly. ive beat the game since my last post and now im working on hard. its not too hard, just a little more challenging. i was kinda disapointed with the rating of the f-22. i believe the plane deserves more credit and i also think the su 37 is the best in the game. oddly i dont think the su 37a is any better. just its capacity for weapons. thanks for every bodies help.

this is me coming back about a week later and things have changed a bit. first off, i changed the thread title because i dont need help any more and i would like to talk about the game here and there. i felt the change was good. i also have now come to be quite the pilot, i have beat the game on expert and have the ace level available. ( notice i say available and not beaten) that would make me an expert and not an ace. ill keep at it. any way.
i also want to make a suggestion that any one with knowledge of specific locations to find the pilots flying the third secret color scheme for each plane, please post it. i could still use maybe just a little help. any ways... thanks again.

well, thats it. ive just finished the quest for the planes. i now have all of them except the alternate paint schemes for the x-02. if you can help with that thanks, or if you need help finding planes, just ask. other wise, im working on completing the game on ace. i will check back when its done. see ya.
