Nadesico Movie

I was extremely impressed by Nadesico: The Prince of Darkness. i found it a lot more convincing than the episodes.

It's true that if you haven't seen any of the episodes, you will be left in the dark, totally clueless of what's going on. It could be compared to the Evangelion series, the two are very alike. I'd say that this series counts on the more mature side of anime.

In my opinion, the animation was very intriguing, it came obvious to me that the "low ratings" for animation came from the character designs, they were very typical. Another very dissapointing thing about the animation is the fact that all character faces look the same, although it isn't fair to judge the animation in this manner, it is just my opinion.

If your were left stumped after the series the movie might resolve that. The problem is that the movie would even stump you more.

It's not really as philosophical as Evangelion but it is kinda mature compared to the series (less humor more action).

I still do prefer the series over the movie though.

That's true Def_Kun.

Evangelion had a humorous side as well as "all politics and paperworks", teke Misoto for example, her upbeat attitude always cheered me up in dramatic scenes. There was also Todah and Suzehara (Sp?), their whole "Misoto is a total babe" gag really left me in tears of joy.

It was wrong to compare Nadesico to Evangelion, I guess it's more on the Patlabor side, where it's all talk, talk, talk, lol.

Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
:)It was a great follow up to the Nadesico series but it left many plot holes and sequels open up. It really is sad how severely the Martian Successor's Messed with Akito and Yurika.
