Guest Vengenceuk
what did everyone think of perfect blue i thought it was a refreshing new anime has anyone got any perfect blue pics
Mnemolth
New? Not really. But yes its a very good anime. Although I should add I would not recommend it to young children. Its not really their kinda thing. Its a scary psychological thriller that will leave an indelible imprint on your mind long after viewing. And no I don't have any pics, but I'm sure there are plenty around. It has a bit of a followng. ;)
Sensei-San
Well, I wouldn't call Perfect Blue "new", it has become relatively old now, but none the less, it truly was a classic. Yes, it is hard to understand in some areas, and may become one of those "you need to watch it twice to understand it" to many people. Frankly, I was quite disapointed with the storyline, the way it took such a twist right in the middle of it. I was really happy with the animation though, definitely one of a kind, as was the sound and music, Cham really inspired me in away, of how could a song in a movie be so great and well though out, especially since there is both a Japanese and English version to the song. Twinzam v
I've seen the filmand i think its one of the best anime movie i have ever seen and its quiet confusing as well :)
SephirothNIN
The movie confused me a bit as well, like how mr. me-mania was driving the truck and it looked like it would hit her, and then she just woke up. Or how the news reported the same thing 2 days in a row, about a new....japanese whatever that would indicate a standard of living and blahblahblah. But overall I loved the movie, was a great psycho-thriller, naturally I forced my friends to watch it, hehe. Was driving me crazy trying to find that cham song too, kept d/l the Japanese vers., eventually I found the English one I've heard so much and now I can rest, ahhhhh.
What!? The Japanese version is much more better.....oh well, suit yourself, lol. There were many holes open too, a lot of stuff wasn't explained well, which was probably what caused me to fail to understand Perfect Blue. Sensei-San
Well, I'll sum it up for you in a few lines or so.......BEWARE, SPOILERS**!!! Mima Kirigoe (the main character) is one a members of an extremely popular pop group called "Cham". She decides to leave the group, and start an acting career solo. Mima's first role is to act in a sexually explicit murder movie. Which will cause a drastic turn in her life. She begins hallucinating and then eventually loses her innocence which was her charm factor in Cham, the line between her nightmares and her reality become blurred. Genkai
word... sounds crazy, but i read about it(perfect blue) a bit in animerica, and that's, uh, not what it's about... it sounds like hentai, is it La Blue Girl? ive never seen it, but it's the only hentai ive heard of, and it has "blue" in it... Mitch
Perfect Blue was not confusing at all to me. I perfectly understood it my first run-around. I think what made this movie great was the way they presented it. That was what really made it cool. Although not my fav. anime movie, I enjoyed it. Mist
I know this thread is fairly old now, but I want to comment. ^^;; I thought it was a great movie; alot of well-shown emotion, not to mention a great thriller-ride. I was quite suprised by the end though how it turned out.
Utena_Tenjou
Perfect Blue was freaky, but I really enjoyed it, it was different, wasn't about some stupid magical girl or bounty huntors. I plan on buying the DVD soon ^_^
Queen Asuka
Perfect Blue really freaked me out with the whole psychological aspect of it all, but otherwise it was a really good movie for a mature viewer. I don't think I'd let my kids watch it until they were in high school or so. But yeah, I thought it was good. It's one of the only mature anime movies that I actually like. Although the rape scene scares me so bad even though it's just them filming the movie. And NO, Perfect Blue is not hentai...
