[FONT=arial]my mom doesn't like me watching anime either. the main problem she's got with anime is the adult content in it. she has this notion that anything animated is automatically for kids, so she flipped when she heard Tamahome on FY say 'Who the hell are you?!' (yeah, big frickin' deal :rolleyes: ). I watch live-action PG-13 stuff all the time, but she never has a problem with those. anime shouldn't make a difference. now if the content is worse than what I watch on live-action movies and such, I could see why she would have a problem. but like I said, she's closed-minded to the idea that not all anime is porn crap. although I did get her to watch Grave of the Fireflies, and she liked that (although she'd never admit it).... When anime first came out in NA a long time ago, I tried watching it. My parents automatically told me to turn it off or watch something that was drawn well. Anime is drawn well, they just don't see it through different eyes.

Isn't the Urotsukidoji series hentai? That would explain why he found it weird...Like many other people.

I usually give anime-bashers a nice rant, which either:
A. Makes them go see a good anime, or
B.Makes them run away, and never bother me again.

Lol, if your parents think anime isn't well-drawn, they should:

1) Go see an eye doctor, because it doesn't get much better (if any) than Japanese animation, because it's:
A) Very Realistic
B) Smoother than any other animation.
2) Go see someone that will make them less prejudiced towards the Japanese culture.

[FONT=arial]the animation in most anime isn't really all that smooth when compared to stuff from Disney etc.; it is getting better though. and Japanese animation doesn't look as detailed as American animation, though a lot of it does look more appealing. it's not really the quality of the animation that gets me into an anime though anyway. I think that most anime is better than most American animated shows/movies because there's more story to them, and there's not as much restriction when it comes to the content (good [i]and[/i] bad thing, but mostly good IMO). Yeah, the anime shows you have to really watch and understand, like any good movie. The American ones are the kind of turnon-tunein kind of things.

Yeah i Enjoy movies and animation that makes me still think about it after i see it...Ive grown tired of american popcorn flicks and long for movies that will stick with me for weeks or longer.

Not all anime does this but a good portion of the Good stuff does.

Oh and i think alot of Anime is MUCH better in quality then american animation...I mean half the things i view these days anime wise are atleast 6 or 7 years old and still look incredible.

Agreed. You can't compare Spongebob Squarepants to Anime... it just doesn't work. Anime beats his cubic lederhosen in anyday of the week.
