Aliens?

Due to recent supposed U.F.O. sighting made me post this. Does anyone here believe in Aliens if you do how do you imagine them. Well personaly I do believe in aliens but not as the movies put them. Aliens are probably microscopic organisams that are found all over the world but some from space. And my theory is that most of the U.F.O sightings are either trick of the mind due to the light, a sound wave bouncing off something that would would make a quick illusion of the mind, or finally some punk kids playing a trick on people. Now those are my opinions, I would like to hear some other people state their opinions on aliens, here.

There was a great discovery by a mathemagician, highly respected one, at that, that poreved that it was physically impossible that there wasn't at least 50,000 other planets with intelligent life, and civilizations. i do believe in them after hearing this.


A lot of hype is coming from tat mel gibson movie, i dunno if that has something to do with that sighting...

also, most people think that all other alien civilizations would be more advanced than us, but about a zillion(well, maybe not a ZILLION, but...) new stars with planets to rotate around them have been made, so some have to be at an earlier stage of evolution.

Of course, there must also be advanced civiliztions, Earth couldn't have been the first with life, or humanoid-ish life/ intelligent life. Some planets with "aliens" on them(so they say) have been thought to have had intelligent life for about a billion years more than us. that's a lot, a billion! so, most people think they wouldn't be able to contact us unless they ran back through the history books to see what they themselves were like(well, what technology was like) for them a billion years ago to come in contact w// us.

the reason im a big believer is my brother, my biggest influence, so he taught me to believe! heh! im probably insane, but-- strike that, i am insane-- but millions of others that believe cant all be insane-- strike that, they can..... hmm, not saure where im goin with this....

Anyway, I don't really have an opinion either way.

Given that the Universe is basically infinite...and is continually expanding, I think that the idea that we are the [i]only[/i] life forms in the entire Universe is a bit self centered.

There are probably millions of other planets with life forms...and that's probably just within our own Galaxy.

I read somewhere that our Galaxy has more stars than there are grains of sand on the Earth. Just imagine that for a moment.

And then consider that there are hundreds of millions (or billions) of Galaxies in the Universe.

If we ARE the only life form...then that is probably [i]more[/i] incredible than the idea of there being many kinds of lifeforms.[/color]

yeah, thinking that we're the only planet with life forms is like when we thought that the sun revolved around us, as did the other stars and the planets... it'd be that bad.


of course james, there's no chance that we're the only life forms. i have a pet rabbit, so...:)

anyway, i think you meant that if we were the only PLANET with life forms, so, in response to that, i mentioned that it was impossible for there not to bet less than 50,000 other planets with INTELLIGENT life, much less life at all, so that solves that question.

more stars than grains of sand on earth? how do we know that? no one counted our stars and our grains of sand, so.... but still, that's an amiazing thought...>_< im gonna be up all night thinking about it!

I think there are probably aliens... but I don't believe that they come here to stick things up people's butts or turn cows inside out. Either way, it's not something that affects me... so I don't consider it a big deal haha.

anyway, aliens are probably too busy with their own busines too care, and i think we should do the same, rescue our corrupt and war-torn planet that is slowly dying before we care about spending our money to go th mars... what's the point? fix up here, then we can relocate or whatever if we fail. we gotta do our best.

I think that there are aliens, but I doubt that any of them have ever reached Earth (or at least in this lifetime). There could be aliens out there, but we have no idea how far they would have to travel to get here or if any of them can even reach Pluto!

Chances are, there's a planet out there exactly like this one with life on it. When I say "exactly like this one" I mean the planet itself is probably orbiting a sun like ours from around the same distance as we are. I don't mean there's another you and me surfing a forum like this one on the other side of the galaxy... although that would be funny.

Frankly, I blame our infatuation with alien life on that War of the World radio show.

Also, I believe in aliens .. they are our little friends from beyond .. helping us in our need everytime we are sad in our selfish ways .. either you got the idea of aliens from [B]Signs[/B] or just being yourself, both are weird.

I've often wondered the same thing, I've wondered if we're just miniscule life forms in the game of life.

But back on topic, what I said earlier about my beliefs were partially true, but I also believe what James said. That thinking we are the only people in this humongous universe is pretty ignorant.

Actually, we are aware of other solar systems and planets out there. The only problem with these solar systems (some with one or two planets, others with 5 or more) is that they are millions and billions of miles away. Even if we sent a space ship...even if we sent out radio signals...they wouldn't reach the planets for several hundred years. So basically the only way we'll meet "aliens" is if they spot us and decide to pay us a visit.

I believe in the theory that the aliens are across the sun from us. We have never been there. It's to hot to travel all the way around the sun to the other side, so that has never been checked. They probably travel in the same orbit we do even. And I don't believe they're that advanced. They're probably just like us, wondering. They probably even look somewhat like us.

As for more intelligent lifeforms out there, it's possible. But, as previously mentioned, there's no proof yet that life does exist. Aliens do exist, and there are massive government conspiricys covering it all up. There are some hoaxes, but for the most part, it's all real.

Oh, and I just got back from Signs. Killer movie, I give it 2 thumbs up.

I believe in aliens...Yes I do.And the thing that bugs me is this. I had a lengthy convo with ssjchic about this. And she brought this point up to me. When searching for like on other planets......we look for one thing.....water. What if other life forms out there dont need water to live? They like have a different substance to take the place of water. I though she had a very good point there. ;)

So yes I do believe in aliens, fully.

When I was little I used to wonder if maybe our entire existance was the dream of someone else... and if it would all end once that being awakened.

Of course one day, years ago, I was watching Home Improvment (God I hate that show) and their neighbor said the same thing. Why must they steal my ideas?

I guess that's kinda related to the alien theories lol.

About planets being on the other side of the sun... Why can't someone put a ship into space and somehow make it stay in place without orbiting anything... After awhile those other planets would make their way to the ship and we could know for sure.
