There was one character from DBZ that I had an appreciation for, and it's ChiChi. That woman took NO CRAP from anyone, especially her dopey husband, Goku. That's my sort of woman, you know? And all she wanted was the best for her son and for him to grown up and be intelligent. Of course, how could she expect that when the poor thing has Goku as a father! :rotflmao:

ANYWHO! Pokemon is sort of repetitive. Pikachu gets hurt, waa waa, and then he never seems to get all the badges or get all the Pokemon. They just keep coming out with MORE AND MORE! And also, he's NEVER ahead of his rival, so that's no fun...

The fights in Orphen are a bit repetitive. When he fights Hartia, it was cool the first time, but on a later DVD he fights Hartia again, and I swear they used the EXACT same graphics for both fights. We're talking you could follow along right down to Orphen's very arm-swoosh. They changed the dialogue a bit, but it gives you an unnerving feeling of deja-vu. It was laughable that they used the same scene, though.

I agree completely, I love Chi Chi to no end! :D She is such a strong woman, who knows how to take a damn stand. She's the only character I like from DBZ. And Goku deserves a good smack with a frying pan! ;)

I have no respect for any of the characters of DBZ; none at all. Sure, ChiChi is a strong character, but the creators obviously didn't catch on, and just made her a secondary character.

*Looks around nervously*.....

SO DO I!! Not only do I have Squirtle, I have Jigglypuff and Pikachu and ALOT of others...I just thought they were the cutest things!

But Pokemon is still a repetitive show! Even if they are cute...

The show... erg...
I absolutely loathe the show... it's so stupid and annoying.

let's see, um...

In every ep, it goes:

The main char finds a new pokemon/trainer.
either they don't get along at first, or they're excited to meet someone they used to know.
They have a battle.
The pikachu or another pokemon gets kidnapped by team rocket (wow:rolleyes:)
Another pokemon blows up whatever team rocket was using.
They win.

...isn't that amazing....- -

----
but.... Pokemon are adorable!!!!!!!
I also have a pikachu doll, but... the blastoise is... scary...
It sits on my shelf and stares at me.. o.O

*shivers* ALRIGHT! I'll spill...*sigh* I used to be a huge fan of Pokemon when I was younger, and had a bulbasaur doll. I still have that doll and it's the cutest little thing. Sure, pikachu was cute, but sometimes he seems to be more of a main character than Ash. They should have done more with Misty. That was a character...back in the day, anyway...^^;;

I HATE Poke'mon! (the show, I still like some of the monsters) It's the most repetitive show I've ever seen. Why doesn't Team Rocket just get as far away from Ash and Pikachu as they possibly can and steal Poke'mon there!? What do they see in Pikachu? He's lost many battles, yet they still try to steal him. Plus there's the fact that Ash and the others can never see through Team Rocket's disguises, though they're very easy to see through. That reminds me of something I heard called Poke'mon in a Nutshell.

We are so off topic, but oh well...*laughs* I just want to say one last thing and then we need to move on from Pokemon bashing.

I liked Team Rocket. They always made me laugh and I thought James was just the cutest thing. And I also liked Misty, and her sisters. They were so pretty to me. I always wanted Misty and Ash to get together, but I guess that was stupid of me to think...ANYWHO...

I think something that is overdone is the theme that love conquers all. I mean, it's good sometimes, but I like it to get dark every once in a while. Like Evangelion did...

I admit that I used to love Pokemon....go ahead, cuff my hands in apathy :p Anyways, the only thing I like about it now is the games. The games I find entertaining. Mist, you should really change your name to Misty if you like her so much...:worried:...uhh...is that a rod....*SMACK* :blackeye: ...ouch.

I'd have to say the most over sappy or over done things in an anime would be Dragon Ball Z's recurring plot. Another one that definitely over does the drama is that cursed show Called Sailor Moon, why is it that the romance and depressing scenes are drawn out for months at a time. It's just a bit ridiculous in my opinion.

Its amazing but I would have to say most main stream anime's over do various elements in the show.

I hate it that America's perception of Sailor Moon has been ruined by useless dubbing and editing. Seriously, Kevin, the plot is not that bad at all. It's just that after the companies get a hold of it and get ready to put it mainstream, that's when the trouble begins. Read the manga. It's a beautiful storyline without Usagi's annoying whining. I love the manga. I love Sailor Moon. I just HATE the dubbed American version.

Tsk. Pokemon, Salior Moon, Digimon and Dragon Ball Z.
Their all in the same league. Nones better, nones worse.
Their just annnoying. Salior Moon has some real peeves.
They repeat the whole save the world thing. Ex: Something
shows up, hurts humans, Darien gets hurt in some fashion,
Rini shows up during that time Serena's the heroine who shows
up to save the world and we all (do not) love it. Bleh. I could
die. Dragon Ball Z isnt that bad - if you dont mind a mutilated
series that got changed from a tolerable anime series to some
FUNimation crap, Toriyama or whatever his name was should a' stuck
to his original story. He shouldnt have let these companies come
around and shove him all over the place like a dead dog. I agree,
Chi Chi rocked. So did 18, but when she was married to Krillin and
turned into a house wife..yuck...she still had attitude though ^_-.
With Digimon, the first ep of each series was cute then it got
real stupid real fast. I could not stand Mimi in the 2 seasons
she was in, i hated Mat, i hated the young T.K and why did i hate
these people?, ohh no reason. Maybe it's because they had the worst english voices and had emotional brake-downs every ten minutes. Pokemon speaks for itself.
"Ash!Pikachus missing!"
"Are you sure Misty? he must be in the water.""No Ash he isnt there, i just looked."~"Your so pretty, i'm gonna make sure no one
hurts you!""Why thats nice of you Brock but i'll be fine""No need to thank me, just being a gentleman to a lady"*Misty grabs Brocks ear*"Okay lover boy, lets go, Pikachus missing and we need you""Dont worry my love, we'll meet again!"~"We finally caught Pikachu!""Yes James, he's ours now""Meow, you got that right, and
non of this would have been possible without Jessie's great idea""Yeah Jess, way to go"*Stupid Team Rocket laugh*~"Hey give Pikachu back""Ash be careful""I will Misty, Brock make sure they dont pull anything while i'm not looking"Go Noctowl!""Go Wheezing"*long dinky battle between Ash and James, Ash wins*[end quote] That sounds exciting but not for the next 154 episodes.

*Falls over laughing* Heh, that was actually pretty funny. :D You made me laugh. And I agree for the most part except that I am a Sailor Moon advocate, because the manga series rocks because it's so much more mature and the artwork is beautiful. And I also like the first two seasons of Digimon (Okay, so shoot me) and Mimi and Matt were my favorite characters. And I never liked it for the Digimon aspect of it, I just liked the adorable Digi-Destined. The storyline was actually interesting and it actually progressed.

The Salior Moon Magna was actually awesome, but something happended as soon as Salior Moon fell into the hands of Dic >_>;;I liked the first series of Digimon also, with the second series i only liked the movie and the series first half (they dragged the Ken thing too hard, dont ya' think?) and in the thir season i liked that Daiva Digimon that turned into Susie's partner and Retamon, the fourth series, no spoilers, i dont leak. Lets just say it's odd. In the whole Digimon saga i only had 5 favourite charecters which were, Sora, Tai, Rika, Willis and Ryou. Out of this latter i agree, Salior Moon was rather lovely, i'm a sole Manga fan, thats where my views on anime come from ^^;

If I may be so bold the only thing annoying and overdone is this thread. We all know that main stream animes such as dbz, pokemon, and various others are overdone practically every topic in Anime Lounge goes back to this theme.

Altough I love LoveHina I cant stand it sometimes. They just spank Keitaro a way tooo much. Most of the time it's funny, but it can be really annoying.

Love ya Naru!

And I deffinitelly agree about everything that was siad about DBZ (the bad things I mean). Sorry DBZ Fans, but it's pretty irritating to have to watch ten episodes of fight between Goku and Freeza. Altough I like Dragon Ball a whole lot.

Fushiji Yuugi is okay, but Miaka gets pretty annoying some times because of repetitions of her internal conflicts in times that it wasnt really necessecery.

In annoys me when Yugioh characters always explain cards. And it looks really stupid when Yami Yugi (what is he, the king of games, right?) says, "What's that card!?" But really, all these shows we're talking about, (sailor moon, dbz, pokemon, etc.) are really popular, because little kids are all excited when it comes on...and stuff. So,
I think those kind of animes are goona be around for a long time. *starts beating Sailor Moon with a metal rod*

dbz is the most redundant anime of all time. Incase some of you didn't know, it was originally supposed to end after the furiza saga, then Toie wanted more money so they had it continue. Also if you didn'f notice, every single saga (other than the filler saga's which in my book don't even count) is the exact same frame work for the storyline, every time what happens?

big bad guy comes in, beat up everyone, one of the group gains some rediculous power up and kills the big bad guy. There I just created a Dragonball Z saga.
