Nah, Beedrill's not a good Pokemon. Butterfree is better. I have a Butterfree in Gold, and it's at level 48! Butterfree can learn Psychic, Sleep Powder, Solarbeam, and many other good special attacks. If you want physical attacks, catch a Scyther. Beedrill will be a good Pokemon until you catch a Scyther.

That's exactly why Butterfree isn't used. Because it can't learn any moves that can be boosted by STAB. At least I think not. It might be able to learn Fury Cutter. I can't remember. So in a way, Beedrill is better, but in another, Butterfree is better because it's very flexible in learning different moves like Psychic and Solarbeam as said before. The only Bug Pokémon that can really hold its ground STAB-wise is Heracross, so if you want a Bug Pokémon on your team, I'd go with that one.

Butterfree can't learn fury cutter. It's actually pretty obvious... well... since it doesn't have sharp claws or anything...

Butterfree is good when you're first starting out in blue or red, since it has confusion. Although it's alot better to get an abra in goldenrod...

I usually never carry around a grass or bug pokemon.

(mainly cuz I usually have water/ice...)

I usually have ice/water, psychic, electric, fire, and flying.

I never carry around grass, because most of their attacks are weak...until solarbeam that is... and I'm far too impatiant to use fury cutter,... ^^;

Beedrill is a definate no no Reasons: its a really rubbish pokemon just like magikarp and wobbuffet. i mean i once trained one up to lvl:100 but it took so long and the fact that whenever i battled it it fainted i got pretty pissed off at it and nearly ended up throwing the cartridge across the room!

That's your opinion. True, Beedrill may have some....drawbacks, but it's all a matter of your own personal taste.

I personally don't really like hyper beam or pin missle...

Well.. okay hyper beam's okay, but on beedrill?

oh boy...

*shakes head*

Beedrill isn't very high in attack or defense..

Soooo... Hyper beam won't be nearly as strong on beedrill, as it is when another pokemon uses it.

Trust me, I had a beedrill before... and... that's the reason why I stopped using poison type... well... except for nidoking.. :whoops:

I happen to like those pokemon, and it depends on how you train them, after all there is no all-powerful or all-weak pokemon........and I had a Beedrill that defeated a Dragonite.:rolleyes:
