First four games are:

- Chocobo sequel - End of 2002

- Final Fantasy Tactics New Version (tentative name) - This Winter

- Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicle - Spring 2003 (to be published by Nintendo)

- SEIKEN DENSETSU (tentative name) - Summer 2003

I'd assume the Chocobo game is related to Chocobo's Dungeon which was released on the PSX. FF Tactics is self explanatory. FF: Crystal Chronicle is the FF GBA game that will link up with a GC game (the article itself says so). And Seiken Densetu is better known here as Secret of Mana.

The FF GC/GBA game was expected this year, but I guess it was delayed. Yamauchi was going on and on about how revolutionary this game is at a press conference. I wonder if it will turn out to be true.

Final Fantasy Tactics, I already knew.

Chocobo Sequel, I'm not that shocked.

Final Fantasy, I expected, but nevertheless I'm gladly surprised.

BUT SEIKEN DENSETSU!!? That I didn't expect! That is one of my favorite series ever (I've played all four games)! These are the sweetest news I've heard from Square since Kingdom Hearts.

I heard that the new Final Fantasy GC/GBA title will be based on the Final fantasy anime which I heard from GameInformer magazine about 2-3 months ago. I also have heard that there is planning for Mario RPG to be released for the Gameboy Advanced now along with a sequel planned for the GameCube. The 2 Mario titles have not been announced but are rumored on many sites.

No one involved with Square, Nintendo or any other developer said anything about it being about the FF anime series. It was something IGN speculated (and posted as near fact I might add), since a member of Square said it would be different from other FF games.

However, the name "Crystal Chronicle" seems kind of similiar to the anime title. It also reminds me a lot of Mystic Quest, which was a game made by Square to get new people into RPGs (it wasn't meant to be an amazing FF game like everyone seemed to expect from it). This worries me, as the last thing I want on GC or GBA is a dumbed down and stripped RPG.

As for FF Tactics... Sony butchered the translation, just like a few other RPGs they were involved in localizing. I'm not sure if Nintendo is publishing these games here, or if Square/EA is... but either way they will do a great job. It almost sounds like it will be practically a new game anyway... They'd have to redo all the 3D at the very least.

Yes, yes, yes, Secret of Mana! I'm finally going to be able to play that game! I remember watching my brother and his friend play it when they rented it for the SNES a long time ago. I was still too little to play, but I remember that it looked really good, and I've heard a lot of good things about it. Now all I need is a remake of FFIV and FFVI...

Final Fantasy Tactics... I dunno... I've heard good, and I've heard bad. I won't be buying it until I rent it or something, but I may end up getting it if I have the money.

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicle... It really depends on what it's like. Again, I'm going to rent it first, just like I did with the other FF games that I've bought. Some RPGs I like, and others I don't really care for, and I don't have enough money to take a chance by just buying it when it's first released.

Well that and the story is apparently radically different. There's even a car in one of the screenshots heh.

And by the way... This Seiken Densetsu game, well it is a remake. So everyone knows, Secret of Mana here was Seiken Densetsu 2 in Japan. The original Seiken Densetsu was known as Final Fantasy Adventure here and was for the Gameboy. That old Gameboy game is what is being remade... not Secret of Mana.
