to much Mtv

Is it just me, or do most people here only like the bands on mtv? Where are all the groups that don't sell out?

I would be shocked If most of the bands I like were shown on Mtv. But a couple of bands I listen to have been on mtv2 before. Right now I can only think of one and that would be Blindside, and I liked them before they turned mtv2. Most of all I listen to bands that would be much to heavy for MTV, so I guess it is just you.
Anyway spike speigel, what kind of un-mtv bands do you listen to?

I see your point about most of the bands here being seen on MTV. I'm [i]barely[/i] into most forms of rock, so MTV is my only source of rock music. Other than that, I mostly listen to R&B, which probably means I watch too much BET, too.

Every other music post here is about some lesser known or Japanese band. Other than the Linkin Park thread on this page, I have no idea why you'd think that.

If you ask me, 5 minutes of MTV is more than enough. Unless, it's some cartoon.

To answer your question olgathedwarf, none of the bands I listen to are on mtv or the radio, for example The alkaline trio, Rufio, The dissenters, The starting line, Something corporate, Catch22, and a whole lot more. And transatic nerve, when I said everyone I really didn't mean everyone(I should probably change it). What I meant was I have found more threads about popular bands then I have about the lesser known ones.

The few bands that I actually like aren't on MTV... It's way too commercial and overdone to make them look good. Besides, I'm anti-mtv.

I like MTV...I guess...but I really don't like mainstream artists, I like underground bands better...

Anyway, I don't think a lot of people actually know who any of these bands are, which is probably why you don't see a lot of people talking about them. Take the Aquabats topic for example. A great band, yet not that many replies. A lot of people here have probably never heard of the Aquabats, so there's not much of a conversation there...[/color]

[color=crimson][size=1]If you use MTV as your source for Rock music, then you don't really understand what rock music is. All Mtv plays is mainstream bullcrap and most of it is just rap and R&B on there anyway. And POP music, man, I hate some pop music.

The stuff that I listen to is old stuff, grunge music mostly like Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, and others, and then bands like A Perfect Circle that are never seen ANYWHERE. So whatever to you...person who started this thread..[/color][/size]
