Krillen
Ok, the long awaited Animal Crossing for GCN is finally going to be released in the USA on the 15th. But blockbuster got it early and I rented it, I really liked it. I hooked up my GBA to it without a cartridge in it and it let me do some stuff with it, not a whole lot though. I just wanted to know if there will be an Animal Crossing GBA game? So if anybody knows just say so. -Krill
Semjaza
I rented it a few days ago. AC has been my most wanted game since it was first announced on the N64 a few years ago. For me, it has lived up to my expectations. I really doubt there will be a stand alone GBA version of the game, and no, nothing was announced. I was also somewhat underwhelmed by the GBA connection... It only really lets you do like two things. You can visit the Able Sisters and create your patterns on the GBA for free (instead of paying 350 bells, which isn't as much as it sounds lol), or you can visit an extra island. At first I thought the extra island was useless. There is an extra person on it... You can design your own flag, there is a new fruit there (for me a coconut) and there is an extra hut for storage. Once you leave it you are allowed to load the island to your GBA... I tried it and just didn't know what to do. I read up on it though. You have to first get the islander out of his house by knocking on the door with the GBA cursor. Then you can get him to knock down fruit from the trees. If he is happy he'll drop money, which you can then pick up (before he picks it back up again lol). I've been able to get abround 30,000 bells just by doing that once. There are also items floating around the island, which he can catch with a bug net. So really, the only true advantage to this GBA mode is getting a lot of free items. Certinaly better than any GBA to GC connection so far lol. I just hope the online AC sequel rumors become reality.
BlueGender
I am going to pick up the game on the 15th of this month. The feature I am most looking forward to is the collecting of NES games that you can win through a lottery at the end of each month I hear. I heard Legend of Zelda and other classic Nintendo games such as Super Mario Brothers are included. If you have the GBA-GCN link up yo can dowload the games to you GBA short term memory and play it as long as you keep it on but as soon a you turn it off yur game data goes bye bye. So you have to turn on the sleep mode to conserve battery power. I am also looking forward to the real time game feature itsounds like a good idea and I hope it is used more in the future.

And its not just NES, its also Atari and SNES.
BlueGender
Oh it isn't,I heard that it was somewhere else I think I heard it from IGN during early developement of the game. I might have mis-heard or it might have been taken out of the game. I did not know that Atari and SNES games are in the game. That just makes me want the game even more. I mght go to BlockBuster later today and pick the game up.
Semjaza
You can download the NES games to the GBA's RAM and play them on GBA if you wish. You just need the GBA to GC cable. There are no SNES games in the game at all. And Nintendo has nothing to do with Atari, so of course they aren't in the game either.
BlueGender
Nintedo does have stuff to do with atari Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr. were the first of Nintendo games which were features on Atari if I recall. I found a few of the games feature in the ame which are Nintendo titles I will list them it's not all of them I will add them as I find more of them listed on other sites. Featured games: Donkey Kong Balloon Fight Pinball DK Jr MATH Tennis Excitebike Clu Clu Land Golf
Semjaza
Those were made before Nintendo even had it's own console though. I own DK for Colecovision even. The games in AC are all based on their NES versions. You can get DK, DK Jr. and Mario Bros. on Atari. But there are also NES versions which looks about 10 times better, and those are the ones that GC emulates in AC. I get what you are saying though. But I read on somewhere, I think it was GameFaqs, that Super Mario Kart for SNES would be available, but maybe they were just to excited baout the game and excepted the rumor. Well hey, Id like to believe it. Oh and I have a question, how do you get more NES games? Ive only been able to get Tennis. Also, I have this item called Pitfall, its a white ball with an exclamation mark on it, and I have no clue what it is for. Someone said you rhow it on the floor and it makes a pit, but that didnt seem to work at all. Help please?
Semjaza
Yeah... the pitall is a trap. Honestly, I haven't gotten one yet. From what I hear though you use the item and another player or villager can get caught in it. I personally haven't even gotten one NES game. How did you wind up with Tennis? From what I understand NES games are most easily won with those raffle tickets that Tom gives you. It's not the end of the month though, so I can't test that yet lol.
I found out what pitfall does. You have to bury it, then when a player walks where it is buried, they will fall in a trap. It accomplishes nothing though, they dont give you a prize for your efforts though. It only makes them mad, its pretty funny though! Sucky think is, you cant even sell it. I got Tennis by looking at the posts in town, someone said they burried Tennis. So I went and dug it up, and thats it. If all of your objectives are complete in that day, if you collected pretty much all of the fish and bugs and you want to move on. Then just go into the menu option for your Gamecube when you first turn it on. To get into that menu, just hold down A as the gamecube logo drops down. You probably already knew that but lets get back tot he point. So ones you are in the menu screen, go to your calender and set your date a couple days ahead, then when you enter the Animal crossing world, it will be a different day. Ive played it so much that Ive already gotten to October 31st. Halloween was cool. Now im going into November today and entering the Fishing Contest. As for the Raffle tickets, he doesnt give out video games. Heres how the Contest works. You go in with all of the 5 tickets youve won. i had wond 4 pairs of 5 tickets. So I got 4 trys to participate. When you go into his shop, everything will be moved aside, there will be 3 objects behind him, the one on the right is the 3rd place prize, the one on the left is the 2nd place prize, and the one in the middle is the 1st place prize. When he asks if you want to spin the wheel, give him 4 tickets, when you spin it, colored balls will come out, the colors change each month so I dont know which ones are 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place prizes. But I do know that every month, when the color white rolls out, that meens you loose and you dont get anything. It really pisses you off. Ok, I think im gonna go play it now, I keep getting yelled at by my mom so it took me a while to actually sit down and get to finish typing it. Haha. C ya. -Krill PS:Kevin(Blue Gender), did you rent it yet?
BlueGender
[SPOILERS....KINDA!!!] Okay I just rented the game yesterday and from about 16 hours of play time I have to say this is one of Nintendo's best games of all time. I have not skipped ahead time because I am only on the second day I do not want to miss anything. I am about 4,000 dollars away from paying of my debt to this guy named Tom Nook. I am searching for a fishing rod but can not find it.The only thing I do not like is the store where you sell your stuff is open from 9 AM-10 PM so for the other 11 hours you cant sell anything. The Gameboy Advanced does not have big function as originally believed it only has a small part in the game. so far my favorite part is that this guitar playing dog plays you a new song every saterday night at the train station.Well I am going to go back to playing...no one in th game is awake but hey...im bored. Semjaza
If you give me your name and town name I'll gladly send you a fishing pole and whatever else you may need (assuming I have it). Just let me know. We really need an AC trading thread once this game goes on sale and more people have it lol. SPOILER--- Well not really... But thought I should type that anyway. The more you pay off Tom the bigger his store gets. Mine is open til 11 now, and I'd assume there will be other versions of the store as well. I had no idea you could send stuff to other people! I thought that it was only for online compatible! I knew you could send letters to animals, but not other friends! Thats Awsome! Heres mine....... Name: Miko Town: Tokyo Kevin, I want yours! Oh and yah, the Gameboy is gould for getting money, you just command the from to knock down the coconuts and them eat them, and everytime he eats the coconuts, he drops bags of 100, 1000, or 10,000 bells. Its a great way to get money. Kevin, the fishing hook and net become available on the second day. And the axe becomes available sometime later that week. I suggest getting the shovel right now so that you can dig up fossils, money, and Goids. Goids- i dont know if that is what they are called, but they are cool and they make sounds for you. And for everyone.......does anyone have any music? I dont have any. And anyone who has extras of NES games that they dont want, send one to me and Ill send some back. Wow, I am still amazed that you can send letters to eachother. I dont see how that could work. Oh yah,a nd once I figure out someones name and town, where do I put it so that I can send stuff to them? As for anyone who is joined in the Happy Room accademy, what is your score? Mine is about 27,000, My room is so cluttered with Oids and Non matching stuff, and Im still paying off the 398,000 debt to enlarging my house to the size of a Super Market. EDIT: I just remembered, I have been jotting down how much each fish costs, so if you want alot of money, here is what each fish is worth. I havent caught every fish and I forgot to list some prices down. The highest priced fish Ive caughten and sold are the Barred KnifeJaws, they are worth 5,000 each. The biggest, Rarest, and Most expensive fish ive caughten was a Colantalanth or somthing like that. This thing was huge, but I forgot to check its price and I put it in the museum. It must have been worth alot though. Ok, here is the list...... FISH-PRICE Sea Bass-120 Small Bass-300 Bass-300 Large Bass-3,000 Salmon-????around 150 Cherry Salmon-1,300 Brook Trout-150 Rainbow Trout-650 Crucian Carp-120 Carp-300 Blue Gill-120 Pale Chub-200 Guppy-1,300 Popeyed Gold fish-1,300 Barbel Steed-150 Red Snapper(Awww...Very Tasty!)-3,000 Barred Knifejaw-5,000 As for insects, the only bug worht catching is the Migrotory Locust(Extremely hard to Catch, you must be patient with it)-1,350 bells And I forgot to price the Praying Mantis and the Lady Bug, But I bet they are worth some good Woolongs. Anyways I hope, that helped you out. Dont forget to give me your Name and Town everyone, Ill send you some letters! Hey, maybe Ill send you some rare items as well........if you need them that is. -Krill
Semjaza
Hmm... Maybe I should explain it some hehe, I will in bit. I personally got the fishing pole in the lost and found on my second day. I got the axe on my fourth day at the store. My town has yet to have a bug net, so I had my friend send one. So I suppose that everyone gets them at different times, but I'd assume it would be in the first week of play considering all the animals talk about is fishing and catching bugs sometimes lol. If you know all this, sorry for repeating it... but here it goes lol --- Now, as for sending letters. You can send letters to your friends, but they have to be playing on your GameCube. For example, a friend can come over to your house with his AC memory card and put it in your GC. He can then visit your village, and you can visit his (one at a time though, you won't meet eachother). You can write eachother letters and give eachother things... Talk to the animals and stuff. They will remember your friend and show you any letters he/she writes them, which I thought was pretty cool. The other way is basically to have other people play your game with you. Up to four people can live in your village on your memory card. When you load up your town, you can say "I'm new" and the game will create another character who will live in one of the 3 other empty houses. However... you and I for example, we cannot send eachother letters because of the distance. It's not possible. We CAN send items though. If you visit Tom Nook you can hear and say codes, which you can send to your friends. So anyway... no real letters as any code for that would be lik a million characters long... Me and my friend have traded items and fruit already lol. -------------- Oh yeah, I think that Coelcanth (or whatever) goes for 15,000 bell. You also forgot crawfish and angelfish, but I have no idea what those go for lol :). I still don't have any music either. I'm still working on that. I unfortunately missed K. K. Slider's performance on Saturday. Oh well. I'm Tony in Magicant.

I better go check that out osmtime, Oh and Kevin, I renewed the game at block buster so I have it for another week, and I am going to go look for jobs tomorrow. As of now Ive played the game so much that ive been able to skip ahead to November 1st, Im about to enter the fishing compititon. And Kevin, to make sure you dont miss any important events, go look at your colledge rule in your house and it will tell yuo all of the very important events, alos look at the billboard where people post notes for small events, and talk to the police officer for whats goin on that week. Man, Im gonna ask if we can make a seperate thread for this, this game has alot of chatting going on, lots of info needs to be passed around. James
Krillen, I was originally thinking of making an Animal Crossing forum. Clearly, if this game sells well enough...people all over the world will be chatting and trading over the Internet like this. So yeah, if you guys continue and if the discussion continues to grow with more people getting involved...I'll strongly consider it.
Semjaza
You guys should really consider not setting the clock ahead though... lol. It really kills the point of the game, and you'll just tire of it even more quickly. It's supposed to be a game you can leave and come back and play almost anytime... Not something you should whip through in a week.
BlueGender
Me and Krillen just tried the trading system a while ago and it is great.robabally the most intricate trading system I have ever seen. This gamemakes you think you are playing onlin without it actually being online. He sent me a Net and I sent it back to him. It is a very complex system and it is best to do it over the internet cause over the phone e's sound like b's so it took us about a half hour to get everything right. Skipping time is a good idea in my opinion cause I think Nintendo designed it so you can get through a days events in a a hour or two. So for those who play the game about 6 or so hours a day it is a good idea to skip ahead of time.I was wondering James if it would be okay to start a seprate topic for trading things.

We'll leave it in this thread for now. But then again, another thread would catch peoples attension. Hah. the origonal subject for this thread was a question I asked about a AC Gamebuy Game being made, and it turned into this, maybe we should make a seperate one though. Lets wait for permission though. Oh and the only reason we are skipping ahead of time is because we rented it, and im trying to get through as much as I can before I have to take it back, and I dont have enough money to buy it rigth now, but once I do buy it, I will go easy on it. Ive been able to complete almost everything so far though. Oh yah, how do you compete in the September Festival? It wouldnt let me race with anyone or anything. What gives? Yah the trading system rules. I dont see how it is possible for them to do that, it still blows my mind. How can it be done without it being online or going to someone elses house?! Desbreko
Well, I haven't played the game yet (I'm going to rent it, and then see if I like it enough to buy it), but for the trading I assume it'd be like the passwords in Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages. Someone gives you their character and town name, and then you go to wherever to send an item. It gives you a password for sending that item to someone with a specific character name and town name, and then you give that password to the person. They go and enter the password, and get the item. That'd be the only way to send stuff between games without having their memory card or over the net that I know of.
Semjaza
I forgot to say that I've heard one of Totokeke's songs... I requested the song "I Love You." He plays it while the games credits roll. It was one of the funniest things ever. You have to hear this guy sing songs lol. I also bought the game... I started over with a new town on the card included with AC. After doing my work I recieved a letter from Nintendo, and they gave me DK Jr. Math and Tennis for my NES. Not my favorite games, but they are emulated flawlessly. Each game comes with it's own NES, you don't have to search out a system like was required in the Japanese version. However... I HATED this town (Fourside) compared to the one I've been in the past week (Magicant). So I picked up all my NES stuff, and visited Magicant. I dropped off the NES stuff in Magicant and went back to Fourside. I got a letter saying one of the animals moved to Magicant, which was pretty cool I thought. Anyway, back to playing :). Krillen
That is pretty neat, its cool how each different character is born with a different personality and does what ever he wants. I've been renting this one for 2 weeks and I'll either renew it or take it back saterday. But good news, Krillen just got a job so I will rake in some cash in about 2 weeks. And since I rented it, I dont get the memory card that comes with it which was a bunch of BS I thought. So I cant make any more save spots so thst I can switch towns. Oh and I heard, here are the memory card prices. 51 Mb-$15 251 Mb-$20 1000 Mb-$30 Thats right, my friend just got this Memory Card XL or somthing and it holds 1000 blocks! Isnt that amazing? And its only 30 bucks! 15 more dollars then the 51! And 1000 Mb is 20 times more of free space. Oh well I have to go to school now and I am tired as ever. Semjaza
I use something called Interact 16x, and it holds somewhere around 1000 blocks. I've yet to have any problems with it, and it's saved me a TON of money since those Nintendo cards are so damn tiny. I'd probably have filled up two 251s by now.
