Sonic and Mario cartoon

Yeah, I remember those. I didn't like them much. I thought Super Mario World was horrible. Well, Yoshi was anyway. He sounded like he'd had his voice transplanted from Wimble (prarie person of Bravestarr fame). Super Mario Bros wasn't great either, in my view. I had SMB pyjamas. He was in american football gear (because of course, you [i] always [\i] saw him wearing that. Duh!). In terms of being true to the game, they were pretty good. Unlike the film. Which I don't want to talk about.

I never liked Sonic ver much (I'm guessing it was the same animation company did all the series). There was one set in the Sonic 2 universe where Tails was a wimp (he was my favourite character and I hated it for doing that to him). There was another one where they were actually in a war, in which Tails was a complete wimp (Grr) and another, even worse one where there were three hedgehogs (Sonic and two made up ones) who were looking for their mother and who played bad music. Don't like them. Oh, and there was the movie, too. I haven't seen that. Is it the saving grace of animated Sonic? Or can not even Knuckles save it?

We had comics over here, though. Great, they were. Shortfuse the Squirrel was cool. And Tails became a knight! That was the best...

There were two Sonics like Solo Tremaine said... One was only on ABC, and had pretty good animation. The other was syndicated, and it just looked like crap. Urkel did the voice of Sonic for some bizarre reason... and most of the time was spent chasing these two stupid robots, one of which was a chicken.

Personally, I liked the Mario cartoons because they were so cheesy. To this day I still laugh when I remember that Princess Toadstool's favorite band was Milli Vanilli.

They used to show these cartoons ages ago (Can't remember what channel it was on) Well has any one seen these shows
They were good:)
Okey Dokey, let me give you my veiw point on both of theese shows. :) I absolutley hated the Mario one. It disgusted me and still does. Same goes for one of the Sonic shows. The one they are currently playing on Toon Disney sucks. But Sonic Underground was possibly the best American cartoon ever. ;)

Oh my GOSH! So do I!!!!!! I loved that show, along with Sonic the Hedgehog. I got so very upset when they quit airing them on TV. I would wake up at all hours of the morning just to watch those shows on the weekends and weekdays. I wish I had liked a boxed set of the Super Mario Bros cartoons. I loved all that stuff from my childhood and it makes me want to cry when I think about it sometimes....*sniffles and runs off*

They put some of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show on a DVD... But they took all the real life stuff out. It's just the cartoons. I think they included a Zelda one too.

I dunno... I was too little to realize whether or not these cartoons were actually bad or not. I honestly still like them to an extent now... Especially the really stupid musical numbers lol.

I used to watch Sonic Underground everymorning before school a couple years back. I wouldn't say it was the best Sonic cartoon (I liked the one from ABC better, even though it was slow paced), but it was good. Manic was the best character from SU.

As for Mario... the "Super Mario World" theme song haunts me to this day. That, and the last season of Captain N they used to play back-to-back with it. Personally, I liked the "Mario 3" cartoon better than the others.

Does anyone remember this weird NES show... They had this one mean kid talk before and after the show, he would usually give a free game out to someone at the end. It eventually turned into this really weird game show.

Anyway, inbetween him was a cartoon. It was kind of like Captain N, but I don't think it actually was. It has Simon Belmont, this red circle guy name Qix and I think Pit from Kid Icarus. I can barely remember it, but maybe someone knows what I am talking about.

"Swing those arms from side to side..."

Okay, ahem...

When the Super Mario Bros. Supershow used to be on here...I would watch it when I could.

They had different types of episodes though. They had ones based on SMB and ones based on SMB3 (the SMB3 ones were the best in my opinion).

And occasionally, they would show the Zelda cartoon. I barely remember it now...but I will never forget its cool opening sequence. ^_^

This is just an opinoin, but I found the Zelda animated series not very nice. At all. I didn't like the way Link was portrayed as a stuck-up arrogant elf who kept saying 'Excu-use me!" in that oh-so-annoying way. Link should be a hero, not a brat.

Still, if they could make a good Starfox series ::drools and goes into trance-like state::

Yes! And he had the control pad for a belt buckle and the "Zapper" for a weapon! I think Mega Man was somewhere in there...God, he was awful on that show. His Buster Cannon was this little slot on his arm, not the awesome full-hand gun it is in the game.

I never saw the Mario cartoon, but I have heard of the Sonic one. I never liked it. I saw one episode on Toon Disney once and almost cried. But I like the new one, Sonic X, 'cuz I know what's going on!!!!^_^ Besides, didn't the old ones have Princess Sally in it? I hate her. She's a prat. Sonic deserves better.

Milli Vanilli was also Cootie Pie's (Wendy O. Koopa) favorite band. If memory serves right, I believe that was the episode in which she took Milli Vanilli from the "real world" and Luigi was turned into a Koopa to "seduce" Cootie Pie and save Milli Vanilli. Mwa ha ha ha ha ha! I am the king of useless Nintendo information :p For now, that is...

Anyway, I loved the Super Mario Bros. Super Show...I still have a couple really old tapes of the show at home. It was so incredibly cheesy, but I didn't care. I was a little kid when I watched it. As long as it had Mario, I was happy. And I think I was the only person I knew who wasn't freaked out when Captain Lou Albano and Danny Wells did The Mario at the end of the show...awesome stuff :D

The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 was even better because it included the Koopalings. For those who don't know, I am a huge Koopalings fanatic. They're my favorite Mario characters of all time. Plus, TAOSMB3 included all of the power-ups from SMB3...and we all know how awesome those are, heh. Plus, SMB3 is my favorite Mario game, so I naturally like this one the most.

Super Mario World was decent but not nearly as good as the first two...mostly because the cave people were complete retards and Yoshi's voice nearly drove me to insanity. But, of course, the Koopalings were the saving grace of the show. Those kids are hilarious.

I've only seen the Sonic from ABC and the one on UPN that came on in the mid-90s. Personally, I preferred the one on UPN because it was ultra-cheesy just like the Mario cartoons (just not as well done cheesy). The two robots were Scratch (rooster) and Grounder (the mole thingy with the drills). There was also a monkey, I believe, but I don't remember his name. I was never really a fan of the Sonic on ABC because it was a bit more serious and I was never a really serious kid, heh.

Captain N was really cool, too, mostly because it had Mother Brain (Metroid, yay!). Captain N was a dork, though. The Legend of Zelda was almost as odd as the Super Mario Bros. Super Show because almost all the episodes had some subplot involving Link hitting on Zelda lol.

The NES cartoon that Semjaza mentioned I remember faintly. I remember Pit and Simon Belmont being on it but I don't remember that thing from Qix. Methinks I need to find something on that.

And that's about it. Man, if you don't think I'm a dork after reading this, you must be some kind of weirdo :p
