Guest Solid Snake
One year, eh? Has it really been that long? It seems more like last week, if you ask me, and it feels like 3 years since my last birthday, which was, ironically, 8 days after the attack. When I got word of the attack, I was in fourth period, Biology. Why did it take so long to fidn out, you ask? Well, this teacher is such a dumb*ss that the other teachers just tell her eveything last. Anyway, I remember the teacher turning on the TV and watching those buildings smoking, and just thinking, it better not have been the Japanese who did that. You know, because of the anime? Yeeaa...so it's one year later now. I had no thoughts of there being another attack. I knew that it could never happen, and just dismissed the idea. I do feel kinda bad for my friend -- his birthday was the eleventh of September. :blah:
Angedramon
I remember I had just gotten through with my 1st break and was heading into third period. I saw my teacher watching the news and I thought it was a movie. I think I was in a daze until seventh period. My teacher had told us to have a moment of silence(though she did pray), and I just lost it. If I remember correctly I cried for most of the period. It just sickened me that someone could do this. As far as Osama goes, he can rot in hell for all I care.
Guest Anakin Solo
I was in gym outside getting ready to play some soccer, when my teacher told us. First I thought she said Yankee stadium....so I imagined to planes laying in Yankee stadium, but then a friend of mine told me that the Twin Towers were completely gone.I was sad of course, most of you will hate me for this but I dont care, the terrorist most likely had a reason to. I mean, America has its own amount of enemies. And the funny thing is, we brought this upon ourselves, IMHO. I mean, we show our asses everywhere, Vietnam, Koreao, Mogadishu, Iraq. I mean, have we ever though about what were doing to ourselves? By going into the Middle East so much, were solving problems for others, and one group of people will be mad at us for it. Let them solve their own problems. By us helping, they may become dependant on us, now what happens when the United States falls or whatever? What will they do then? Not being able to help themselves. And we think were all powerful and stuff.Thinking that nothing can happen to us. So in my mind, the United States needed something to awake us from your dream.9/11 proved to America that were arent what we thought we were. And the cheering of people in Pakistan/Palestine or wherever, do any of you remember when we were bombing Iraq? Hell, we were cheering as well. Ahhh...enough with my ranting, good day.
NorykoAngelcry
Wow, what was I doing - I woke up early (quite unusual for me to be up anytime before noon on a day off), but I got up and got on the net. I checked my guild's webpage (from Everquest, a MMORPG). One of the first topics in our forum page was entitled - "We're going to WAR!" Now at first, stupid niave me thought - "Cool! A guild war! This will be fun." Then I went into the link and started reading. There listed was the 'army soldier' of our guild. He posted what had happened and that they had no idea if it was a bomb or not, but that the WTC had been hit, and was in flames. I stopped breathing. No way. . this can't be real. I read on some more before I had to pull myself away from the monitor. I ran down to the television and EVERY CHANNEL had it on. There it was. . smoke billowing out of the side of the WTC and I could just not believe it. It was almost a surreal picture to take in. I remember sitting there watching as one shot captured the second plane hitting the other building. I wanted to cry when I saw that. . I just sat there helplessly watching. I can not say anything else I am afraid. I have grieved, and I can't look back at those images. I will never forget that day, and will always remember how I felt. I am happy we had the leaders that we have at that time, and am thankful that they handled the situation as they did. I am behind George W. Bush in his decision to take out terrorism one-hundred percent. I love this country and will stand behind it till my death! Senor Ding Dong
I remember that day. I was in tech class, about......9:00, eastern time, i think? well, my freind jon erik told me that 2 planes crasheed into the twin towers. i was like "wha.....?" only to find out next period, the tv was on, and he was right. 2 smoking twin towers collapsed. jon was crying, afraid that terrorist were going to hit us. he cried his heart out. something like that. oh, and on 9/11/02, i wore a bigdog shirt saying "hasta la vista bin laden". it had a giant dog about to eat bin laden, who was in a hot dog bun, with an american flag on it. Muse
Yeah...I remember It like it was yesterday; I Thought it was just going to be another Incradably Slow,Boring day of School When I woke up that day. When I was done getting dressed and Brused and stuff I went downstairs and watched T.V.I had to wait to watch whatever I wanted until My Dad left for his School,So he had the news on.We saw both Plains Hit the towers,Then my Friends mom Called and asked my dad to give her a ride to work because Her car wasnt working and she was glued to the News. When I Got to School I met up with my Friends outside to wait for the Bell.We were making jokes And We were saying like"Derek's The Terriorist!"And stuff,we all laughed. When I got to Class,My(evvvil)Teacher told us about it and told us that the Towers Collapsed and they were looking for Surviviors.I finally found out that it wasnt a Joke,I kept seeing People getting Killed in my head during the day.I kept my Tears to myself until I saw a Picture of a Woman holding a Sign with her brother's Picture on it,Crying and Screaming as it looked...I broke down Crying. I shed a few tears I think on Wednsday.I Feel Bad for the People who lost their LOved ones,And the Kids my Age who were killed.:(

Juu
A time of faith, A time of sorrow. Voices screaming, Hearts sinking. A moment of silence, not a voice to whisper. Why must our nation suffer their cruel intention? Lives lost, under a terrible cause. An event to remember, on that day of september. Well... there's mine... yeah.. laugh... it's pathetic... - - I almost cried when I first saw the people in new york after the attack. It was so scary when they showed the people jumping out of the buliding... >< On sept 11, 02... there was a section in the San Francisco chronicle, where in the background, all the names of the people who died were written... It was so sad seeing all those names... I wish the best to the families that have people that died in sept 11...
Vegitto4
Well, I was in school walking to english, when a friend of mine said " Did you hear, somebody bombed the ** explative inserted** outta us!!" First thing i thought was " what did they bomb, TI?" Then i saw. I was slightly worried until an hour later, at which point, I said . " meh. Oh well. it's about time somebody kicked the crap out of us. We were to high and mighty to begin with. However, now it's out turn, ** explative inserted**." Now, dont get me wrong, it was a crapy thing, but listen to me now. We need to learn to get over it. yes, it has been a year. I'm sorry. people die everday. Loved ones die, and are lost. Deal with it. Life goes on. I can understand remembering it, and holding a ceremony, or moment of silence, or church service. However, this much coverage, and publicity that 2 buildings have gotten is onyl making it worse. We just need to get over it, move on, and drop it all. I'm sorry if one of your loved ones died. My girlfriends cousin was in those buildings. it sucked. Ohw ell. Deal with it, and drop it, as I have said for the umpteenth time
Anna
I definately agree with Vegitto. I've BEEN saying that for quite a while now: we need to move on. OBVIOUSLY, what happened was terrible and awful, but let it go. Do people even realize how much the media is "playing" them? Notice how many "These Colors Don't Run" "Proud to Be American" "Red White & Blue!" shirts there are? Notice all the flags up on vehicles, houses, mailboxes? Money. People are making profit off of tragedy. DUH. Why the heck do you think the media won't let the public forget? Nothing wrong with patriotism, but there's a difference between that and a very big bandwagon.
ZeroBlade
9/11, that day is certainly still fresh in people's minds. Like Anna and Vegitto said, I would say to move on as well. But some people can't. I live in New York and there is not one person who doesn't know EXACTALLY what they did on that day. I wasn't anywhere near the WTC at the time but I did see both towers fall in front of my eyes. I was one of the lucky few who didn't lose anyone I know but just about everyone else I know did. A few days later I volunteered to help out at the site and believe me, it didn't look like New York at all. All I needed was a gun and I swear I'll think I'm at war. The expression I had is just like the one in my Avatar (points to Zero Avatar). Its just incredible to see it in person and you can't help saying "the carnage" so I can understand why some can't forget. The patriotism the country had after that was great and then it died down a bit after a month later. So this anniversary was both a day to remember and renew our patriotism. Semjaza
The only thing that really annoyed me about the aftermath of the whole thing was the marketing schemes. Every other thing said "United We Stand" or "We Will Never Forget" or something to this effect... It turned it all into a joke. Even AIM and Yahoo Messenger have American Pride type skins now (although interestingly Yahoo recently got rid of theirs). I also found it strange how suddenly EVERYONE wanted a flag. My house and one other were the only ones on the block with American flags outside the house before 9/11, and then suddenly everyone had one. Two months later, everyone's was down again except ours. That's just really sad. I noticed this past September 11th a few more flags popped up around here, but most are gone again. It all leads me to wonder how many people actually cared about what happened as much as they claim.
Kent
the thing that bothered me the most was all those darned "these colors never run" stickers. what a crock, those people are the furthest from patriotic as possible. my reason for saying that. simple. what one thing do you see on the battle field running constantly, which just happens to be red. the blood of our fathers, brothers and patriots. i say screw those people with those stickers, if you ask me they have no thoughts for the people they pretend to care for. i love our soldiers and hopefully that will be enough to make it so their deaths were not in vain. SaiyanPrincessX
I was in my 4/5 period, math when I first heard about it. My teacher turned on the tv and we watched it the whole period. Some kid in my class made an idiotic coment or laughed or something and my teacher blew up at him. I remember that day so clearly, and the way I felt perfectly... Its something I'll never forget. I was so scared, I was shaking really bad. We watched as they collapsed. All through out the day every single tv in the school was on, and my school is very big. When I was walking in the halls thats all you could hear. Some kids just walked out of the doors saying they didn't want to die at school. My mom picked my brother and I up from school early because she thought we might have been scared. That night I did cry, I felt bad for everyone and war. I didn't goto school the next day. My first year of high school didn't start out very good... I still feel greif for everyone who lost there lives that day, and there families but I do agree that we need to move on. Rancid
I remember it like it was yesterday, I had just finished Science when our teacher held us back for about 10 minutes, we didn't know what to think because he was in the hall discussing it with other teachers, when he walked in and told us the news, we were broken. 15 Minutes after the news we lined up for an assembly and had like 1 minute rememberance time or 5 I'm not sure. Our principle talked to us and we resumed school work as usual.

Pastbyer
Well I live in a different country with a different time zone so when the attacks happened it was around 2 or 3 am on the 12th. When I woke up everything was so normal since we didn't watch the news or anything. Then my Mum & I got into the car to go to school/work. My Mum likes to listen to the news so we heard it then. I thought I was still asleep or something and since it was so far away from where I lived I didn't take much notice. That's until about 2 pm when my teacher came in with a TV and showed us a taped news report from the USA showing the towers collapsing and everyone screaming. That's when it really clicked in my head that it was real. After that we spent about a week at school just studying on the attacks and all the stuff. And note that I live in New Zealand.

I'm sorry but you have no right to beat someone up because of their beliefs. What that kid did was disrepectful to the tenth degree, but beating him up? Thats just wrong! That'll just increase his hatred, and others hatred towards America.
