spike speigel
it says: Once upon a time, in New York City in 1941....at this club open to all comers to play, night after night, at a club named Minton's Playhouse in Harlem, they play jazz sessions competing with each other. Young jazz men with a new sense are gathering. At last they created a new genere itself. They are sick and tired of conventional fixed style jazz. They're eager to play jazz more freely as they wish then......in 2071 in the universe...... the bounty hunters who are gathering in the spaceship "Bebop", will play freely without fear of risky things. They must create new dreams and films by breaking traditional styles. The the work, which becomes a new genre itslef, will be called......Cowboy Bebop the english can be a little weird in spots, but that's what it says. Mist
If that's wrong, I think it might say: Jazz agers, flower children,, lost generation, beatniks, rockers, punks, nerds, hackers, lovers, genration X-whatever the designation, there have always been outlaws in our society who live in thre pursuit of autonomy. At times they were revered for their roles as pioneers, challenging the unknown; other times people considered them lawless desparodoes and a dangerous presence. Yet, it is only their exuberant music and an auotnomy founded to express opinions different from those of others that set them apart from the rest of society. The year 2071 A.D. That furture is now. Driven out of their terriesterial eden, humanity chose the stars as a final frontier. When the section-by-section collapse of former nations, a mixed jumble of races and people came. They spread to the stars, taking with them the now confused concepts of freedom, violence, illegality, and love, where new rules and a new generation of outlaws came into being. People referred them as Coboy Bebops...

Geist
That's because it's on the back of the DVDs. I've heard Spike's before also, but I'm not sure which one it could be; I'll check it later. I would've guessed it was this one.
