James
The other day I was packing up some SNES games and I came across Super Mario All-Stars. I had totally forgotten that we own it! ^_^ Needless to say...I ended up booting it up and playing Super Mario Bros. 3. And there I was...a couple of hours later, still playing. I didn't even realize how long I'd been sitting there. Who here has this great game? I was thinking about a possible Super Mario All-Stars 2 as well... Wouldn't it be great if they combined Super Mario World, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine into one disc for GameCube? Of course, as with the original game, each game would have updated visuals (or at least, all of them 'cept SMS). With the strong possibility that there will be at least one more Mario game for GameCube, I really hope we see a follow up to SMAS - it's probably one of the best investments you can make on your SNES. Semjaza
If Nintendo does this, I bet they will wait til all the GBA versions have sold for a long enough time lol. Personally, I would like it if they put every Mario game on one disc and basically left the graphics how they were. I'd like the NES versions of the first 3 Marios, as well as the SNES Allstar versions...and of course all the games you mentioned. Although, I doubt SMS would make the cut. I would hope that they would do this how SEGA is doing the Sonic Mega Collection... Lots of DVD type extra features. Stuff like commercials, advertisements, interviews, art, etc. I'd buy that in a second.
James
That's a great idea; the DVD extras. That actually brings me to another point. After buying SSX: Tricky on PS2, I was extremely satisfied with the DVD extras. I thought they were a GREAT option. I would love to see that stuff on Nintendo games...Mario specifically. I don't know if Nintendo will ever do it, but I really hope they do. A Mario collection with DVD extras would be utterly brilliant.
Twinzam v
Mario all stars is the best mario game on SNES after super mario world
Desbreko
Well, I don't own it, but I rented it a long time ago, before even the N64 came out. I had fun playing SMB3 with the updated graphics, and playing the Lost Levels, though I didn't get very far in that (it's too dang hard!). It's definitely one of the best games on the SNES, since it combines four classic Mario games on one cartridge. As for a second Mario All-Stars on the GCN, that would be so cool! I'd want them to include Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, 3, the Lost Levels, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, and Super Mario 64. That would be awsome.
Schrat
I agree that that game would be awsome, But i wouldnt put sms in it..It just came out. Has anyone been thinking of a game after Sms?
Senor Ding Dong
yeah, SMB3 is l33t. i'm getting it when it comes out next year for gBA!
Guest Solid Snake
Super Mario All-Stars, I used to play that all the time at my old day care. It was so fun because if you got bored of one game, which was rare within itself, then you could just do a different one. I do remember, Super Mario Bros 3 was a great game. I can't wait until it is ported to the GBA ^_^. As for a Super Mario All-Stars 2, I think that it would be great for all those past Mario games to be released on a single DVD. With the exception of Super Mario Sunshine because it just came out, I think it would be a great oppertunity for this generation to enjoy great titles of the past, as they are doing for the Sonic classics. I'm so going to force my neighbor to get the Sonic Mega-Collection, and if they release a similar Mario one like you proposed, I'd make him get that too. :) :blah:
Kei
I loved Super Mario All-Stars! I used to play that game for hours on end. Well, I just played SMB3 for hours on end. That game was so fun. I loved Big World. SMB2 was cool too. I was happy when they put that on Super Mario Advanced. And that would be pretty cool to have all the Mario games on one disc for the GCN, even though I don't have one....yet.
GinnyLyn
*twiddles fingers* I...kinda like it... *wishes she liked Mario a little more* :cross: *hides from James* SMB3 is definitely my favorite, right after SMW2: YI (YOSHI! '') And I always liked playing SMB2, because you got to play as the Princess...*float float*
Red
I still play Super Mario All Stars from time to time, although SMB 2 is my least favourite Mario game I still find myself playing it, but the game I play the most is SMB 3, I love it. (Except Super Mario World, which I love more.... *cuddles*)

Omar Harris
I love this game. It's just the fact that you can play four Mario games in one that makes it simply incredible. My favorite will always be Super Mario 3. And the idea of All-Stars 2 with World, World 2, 64, and Sunshine is awesome. But what would we do about RPG? or am I the only one who liked that game? Desbreko
Lol, no, you are definitely not the only one that liked Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. It was immensly popular back in its time, and it probably will be again. I've heard that it's being remade on the GBA. But, I don't really think it should be included, since it's an RPG and doesn't fit in with the platformers in the main series. Kind of like how Mario Golf and Mario Tennis wouldn't be included. After thinking a bit, I think I've come up with a list of the ones I'd want, for a complete Mario collection. I'd forgotten a few in my previous list: Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels Super Mario Bros. 2 Super Mario Bros. 3 Super Mario Land 1 Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins Super Mario World Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island Super Mario 64. I always forget about the two Game Boy games, even though they're lots of fun, and they really should be included.
Semjaza
I was playing this at my friends the other day... Why in the world doesn't Lost Levels have a 2 player option?? On top of that, they changed the 2 player mode for SMB1... Even when you win a level, you still switch turns. In the original, you kept going until you died. I far preferred that, and if they ever make another All Stars, I really hope they make it how it used to be. I'd personally like it if All Stars 2 had the original NES graphics as well as the SNES remakes. I'd also like it if the game included the Vs. Super Mario Bros arcade game. It was the same game, but it had a top 10 score board.
Omar Harris
I heard that Lost Levels was extremely hard. Is that true, because its probably the only Mario game (along with World 2, all the Land games except 2, and Sunshine) I haven't played.
Desbreko
Yes, the Lost Levels is extremely hard. It's the hardest Mario game I've ever played. You know how the original Super Mario Bros. is hard? To me, it's about twice as hard as that, in some parts. Me and my brother made it to the level before the last castle, and we couldn't beat it before we had to return the game. I can't even imagine how hard the last castle is, if it's harder than the stage before it. And I've actually played one of the Super Mario Bros. arcade games! I have to say, though, I really don't like the joystick and buttons for controlling Mario/Luigi. I'll take a NES controller over them any day.
