Megaman had left Midgar. He had taken a small, personalized craft, and here he was, in it. He had no idea where to go as he glared at the map upon the computer screen. He had set it to autopilot, and he then began to doze off. He dreamed as he slept. A figure stood abound in darkness, a smirk upon its sturn face. Its hair was a long gray, and as it stood there, glaring at him, it suddenly spoke to him. It spoke slowly, as if the words had come hard, as if it hadn't spoken for years. It articulated one word, one simple word. "Raccoon" it had whispered to Megaman in a voice as feared as death. Raccoon it had said. Then the tall figure had walked away, as flame enveloped about it. Then it was gone. Megaman opened his eyes and said that same word, staring directly at the spot upon the map:

Megaman X: Raccoon City...is that what the dream was about?

He punched in the coordinates into the ship, and set it into autopilot yet again. Megaman felt some answers were there. And another thought suddenly ran through his mind...hadn't Zero gone there? Megaman was certain, and it was that certainty that confirmed his destination: Raccoon City.

I stares straight at the sack of meat (Oh excuse me, "Rick Hunter") and realized that he was telling me the truth. He was a good guy, just like me, but somehow we just started out on the wrong foot.

"That sounds great. I'll lead the way, Dot will provide back-up and you..."
"Yes?"
"..you make sure that nobody tries to attack us from over there."

I pointed over to the flaming pile of wreckage that used to be a train. Apparently this offended Rick because he started yelling at me about his assignment.

"Why are you sending me to guard the rubble?"
"Huh? Oh, I think it would be safer for you over there. I don't have the time to save you from peril every five minutes. Isn't that right Dot?"
"Definitely Pac."
"Argh!! Fine, if that is the way you want our alliance to be, then maybe we shouldn't team up at all!
"Ok."

..so Dot and I walked away.

These flesh and bone types really get on my nerves. Don't they recognize a hero when they see one?

I love solitaire. It's how I pass the time away. I tried playing poker with my Robot Masters, but Cut Man wasn't exactly the best partner.

Being an evil doctor, I've never had much luck with the ladies. When I was a youngster, conversations usually ended when they asked me what I did for a living. When Megaman came about, I lost all hope. Potential brides seemed to adore that blasted robot.

Anxious for the company, I invited my new chum, Dr. Robotnik over for soup and sandwiches. When he arrived, the castle was spotless--I had given my little Robot Masters strict orders to tidy up.

I couldn't believe who he arrived with--standing beside him was that slovenly plumber's brother. But--he looked different. His hair--it was slicked back with an exuberant amount of hair gel (Note to self: potential Robot Master: Hair Gel Man. Gel bubble attack, like Bubble Man's water bubble attack).

Even his thinly trimmed mustache seemed to drip with oil. Well, at least he exchanged those disgusting overalls for a rather stylish tuxedo.

"Well, what are you waiting for," Dr. Robotnik bellowed, "kiss the Don's hand!"

Of course, the evil Dr. Wily would never think of bowing down to another man in his own domain! I told them that I'm a land mind and that if they try to step all over me, I'll blow up right in their faces! Mwahaha. That shut them up.

Now, I'm sure that you're all wondering what came of the last great meeting of the evil geniuses. Why wouldn't you be? It had been so long since Dr. Wily had reclaimed the spotlight. This time we would be guaranteed success. My museum idea wasn't working out as planned anyway. For some reason, tourists seemed frightened by Skull Castle. Go figure.

Together, the three of us agreed that a league of villains was more than necessary. The newest addition to our group would be the one imprisoned in Raccoon City.

Rick Hunter watched as the Pac Man and Dot walked off into the distance

Rick Hunter: Hmm they should be coming back in 5...4.....3....2.....1...

Pac Man and Dot Rush back to where Rick Hunter is, they have this scared and confused look on their faces.

Rick Hunter: I take it you ran into that Giant beast that has a fascination with Stars?

Pac Man: Yes.....V_V

Rick Hunter: Thought so.....that?s why we need to stick together, if we work as a team we can beat this thing and get out of here!

Pac Man: Agreed but no more Jokes about pellets being crack!

Rick Hunter: Not even one?

Pac Man: Noooooo!

Rick Hunter: Sigh all right consider our alliance back on. I suggest we head for that dark spooky Mansion over there. It seems we can find some ghost or maybe a secret lab there. It?s worth a shot to say the least.

Pac Man: Yes ok though your leading the way!

Rick Hunter: -_- Scared of the Boogie Man?

Rick Hunter and the others hear a voice in the distance saying stars. Rick Hunter runs ahead of the group at record pace. Pac Man and Dot catch up to him.

Pac Man: What was that you were saying about being Scared of the Boogieman?

Rick Hunter: Not another word about this!

Pac Man: Sigh humans....

The group make their way down Main Street in hopes of finding some clue as to what happened to the once peaceful town of Raccoon City.

Link: Hmm...I wonder if there's a harbor around here anywhere? Maybe we could catch a ride on a boat to the Mushroom Kingdom.

Yoshi: Hey, yeah! Good idea!

Link stands up, and looks down the beach. Unfortunately, there's nothing but sand and water for a few miles, until the view is obscured by a large cliff jutting out into the sea down the beach to the left of them. To their right, the beach stretches on for as far as the eye can see.

Link: Well, that makes it somewhat harder... Come on, let?s go take another look at that map in the visitor center.

Back inside and standing in front of the map, they see that there's a small dot on the map labeled "Danger: Pirate's Fortress" a few miles down the coast.

Link: Hey, the fortress must be just on the other side of that cliff we saw.

Yoshi: Uh, Link, I'm not sure I like the sound of that...

Link thinks back to his adventure in Termina, where he had a run in with the pirates there. It was also the first time he had encountered the giant, skeletal fish known as Desbrekos. "Hey, I think I even still have that card," Link thinks. He digs through some pockets (which are lined with Hylian Velcro in order to hold all of the items that Link carries around with him), and comes up with his Gerudo Thieves members card.

Link: Wow...been a long time since I used this thing.

Yoshi: You're a thief?!

Link: Well, kind of, I suppose. They gave me membership after I infiltrated their fortress as rescued some prisoners they were holding, and kicking a few of their buts in the process. They were impressed with my skill, so they let me in. I'm the only male Gerudo Thief, actually.

Yoshi: What?!

Link: Oh, yeah...the Gerudo Thieves are all women, except for me. They despise men, for the most part. Ganon was once Ganondorf, and he was a Gerudo Thief. About once every 100 years, a man is born, and he becomes king. Hence, Ganondorf, the King of Thieves turned into Ganon, the King of Evil. But, the Gerudos despised Ganondorf's evil sorcery, and--

Link looks down to see a blank stare on Yoshi's face.

Link: Um...am I boring you?

Yoshi: Yes, immensely.

Link: Uh, right, back to the matters at hand then. I say we storm the pirate fortress, and steal a boat so we can get back to the Mushroom Kingdom.

Yoshi: Uh, right, simple as that, huh? Just walk in, grab a boat, and sail away.

Link: Well, it'll probably be a bit more difficult that that, but that's the basic plan.

Yoshi: And you don't expect to be captured and tortured?!

Link: Umm...I did kinda do this all my life. I think I have some experience with this sort of thing. And besides, there's two of us, so it'll be even easier.

Yoshi: Uh, right, okay, fine...

The pair heads back outside and onto the beach again. The sun is starting to set, and brilliant reds and oranges dance across the waves. They watch as the sun dips below the horizon, and finally disappears from sight. The breeze blows gently, carrying the slightest bit of ocean spray through the air. Link and Yoshi stand there enthralled by the beauty of the scene, until finally, Link speaks.

Link: Well...time to go nab us a ship.

The pair set off, heading towards the pirate's fortress under the cover of darkness, hoping to sneak up unnoticed.

It was night. We walked down the street for a while and during this time the three of us started to learn more about each other.

"..so I looked at him straight in the eye and said 'I just ate three of your friends and there are only two pellets left for me to get. Are you gonna try and stop me?"
"Wow. That's a great story Dot."
**grumble, grumble**
"What's wrong Pac?"
"Oh nothing, you just took my story and called it your own!"
"Is that true Dot?"
"Well umm... yeah."
"Whoa, what is that?"

Rick Hunter pointed over in the distance to a dark figure walking towards us. The fire from a burning building have us enough light to see it's face, and it wasn't pretty.

"What is that!?"
"It is a zombie Dot, this place must be full of them. Haven't you figured that out yet?"
"......"
"It only seems to be one Zombie, I think we can handle it."

What a moron! Why would anyone say something like that in this situation? That is only asking for trouble, and you know what happens when you ask for trouble? Someone dies!

The good news is that it wans't me, or Dot, or even Kevin. It was the zombie! Rick pulled out another weapon (how many of these things does he have anyway?) and shot at the zombie, eliminating it. Rick Hunter might be a useful ally, as long as he doesn't run out of ammo.

We decided to spend the rest of the night in an abandoned office building, that way we could keep a low profile until morning. Dot demanded that she take the job of standing guard, so while the two of us slept Dot "secured the perimeter". Before I fell asleep I had a brief conversation with her.

"Dot?"
"Yes Pac."
"You don't have to stand guard if you don't want to, meat bag or I could do the job."
"No, I want to prove that I am just as important to this team as meat bag or you."
"Okay, but if there is any trouble be sure to wake up meat bag or myself."
"Stop calling me that!"

(OOC: sorry I'm so late getting started I signed up a bit late :( )

The Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom stared out at her country from her high balcony. She sighed unhappily and closed her eyes she missed Mario. She knew that she shouldn't leave the castle, because of all the rumours of some crazed madman on the loose. She wanted to leave so badly, to prove that shes not helpless despite all of Bowsers attempts. Walking back into her chambers she passed by the giant vase by the balcony doors. Nobody knew what the large vase contained, except for the princess herself. A little devilish grin crossed her face. Reaching into the pink ceramic vase she pulled out what seemed to be an umbrella, but in truth it was the sneaky parasol.

Peach: If they dont know I'm not here then they wont panic

Walking out of her room with the parasol tucked under her arm as if she was going for a walk. Wandering around the castle she looked for toad entering the main hall of the castle she looked down from the top of the stairs she saw Toad, his back turned to her.

Peach: Oh I hope this works.

She started her slow descent down the stairs as she was nearing the bottom a sudden movement from the other side of the room startled her, she watched as the basement door flung open and... A two tailed fox?! Ran out the double doors of the castle, rushing past toad in the process and blew the little toad guy over.

Peach: What was that!? I guess Ill find out soon enough

Toad was on the ground totally dazed, usually she would have ran over and gave him a hand but this time she had a mission, and that mission was to escape. Pulling the parasol out from under her arm she aimed its tip at Toad sparks flew at Toad and in a small flash of light there was now two Toads!?

Peach: Yes! Success! I cant belive I just did that.

Quickly running past the confused Toad she made her way to the doors past the unsuspecting guards to freedom! She didn?t want let the magic of the sneaky parasol off yet, she was still on the castle grounds. Passing Mario?s monument she sighed and looked up at the marble statue, She wanted to see him badly enough to run off! She headed towards town, stopping briefly away from the castle grounds to change back into her normal self. Her heart beat like it was going to explode, the adrenaline rush she was having was unforgettable!

As he neared Raccoon City, Megaman had slowly dozed off again. He saw an oddly shaped hallway, as if it meandered from side to side unrealisticly. Four figures stood about the hall. Dr. Wily, a tall man wearing a tuxedo, a rather plump man, and Sigma. They were saying something to eachother, but what, Megaman couldn't hear. Then as they all stood, a sword suddenly emerged from out of the ceiling. A rather long sword it was as it came out, shimmering in the restricted hall light. It came down directy over the plump man, the plump man glared up at it, a look of fear upon his soccerball shaped head. A gloved hand then appeared, holding the sword. It was black. And as the sword went through the plump man, Megman's eyes slowly opened from his dream. Sweat stood upon his head through his helmet, pelting his face in a watery goo. The computer said he was at the outskirts of Raccoon City. Almost there, he thought. Almost there. Soon...

The trio of Jim, Megan, and Sephiroth made their way down the monster infested streets. Little could stand in their way with the almighty Sephiroth leading the way, however he was become agitated by Jim whom kept making remarks about how he killed dozens of people already. Jim just couldn't understand why he was helping them, but at the same time even Sephiroth didn't understand why he couldn't just kill them like the others.

'You know, I'm still a little weary of trusting a murder like you. I mean you did kill all of those people back at the lab, and God only knows how many others along the way. Not only that but you tried to kill me back in the lab too! How can we trust you?' Jim asked with a bit of mockery in his voice. 'Shut up! You're a meany! So far Sephy's been a nice guy, it's only until you came along that he's gotten mean. What did you do to him?' Megan yelled angrily at Jim, and slapped him in the shoulder.

'Ow! Hey, why'd you hit me? I'm not the one who slaughtered tons of people in a lab! I'm the one that he tried to burn with his weird Voodoo powers, I'm the one who had to see my coworkers die, I'm the one who got b***h slapped through a store window!' Jim turned to yell at Megan, but suddenly he felt something grab him by the throat and slam him back against a nearby wall.

Looking at Jim with anger in his eyes, Sephiroth closed his head around his throat tightly. Megan screamed and grabbed Sephiroth's arm trying to get him off, but she was too weak. Sephiroth just leaned closer to Jim's face as he gasped for air, then he spoke. 'You are a fool. I could have killed you by now, and I would have. I would have killed both of you, and the rest of humanity as I once tried before. But now...something is different. I can't kill you, or her. But if you must know, I killed almost everyone in the lab because most of them were infected. They would have turned into these mindless zombies. I did them a favor, and you will be the first that I kill if I can figure out what is wrong with me.'

His words were cold, and he seemed to be serious about everything he said. Pulling Jim off the wall he tossed him on the street coughing, and gasping for air. Megan ran to Jim's side, and checked on him then looked at Sephiroth. 'Why?' was all that Megan could ask.

Sephiroth just turned his back, and walked away. 'That is the question I've been asking myself lately.' Sephiroth says as he walks off leaving Megan, and Jim alone to fend for themselves.

'Come back! We need you!' Megan called out, but it was too late he had all ready disappeared in the shadows of the night. Jim slowly stood up as Megan walked towards the area Sephiroth headed, grabbing her by the arm Jim turned her around. 'Wait, you can't follow him. He's long gone by now.' he said looking slightly embarrassed now.

Suddenly, Jim's head was turned to the side Megan's hand left an imprint on his face. Tear began to flow from her eyes, and she slapped him again. 'You idiot!!! He was our only chance to live, and get out of this nightmare of a city! I'm too young to die! It's your fault!' Megan screamed again as she began slapping him more, but Jim grabbed her arms and looked at her.

'Look, I know it was my fault. But we're not going to die. I promise. Besides, I don't think that was the last we'll be seeing of him. Come on, let's find a way out of this hell.' Jim said reassuring Megan. She nodded, and they continued on without Sephiroth.

My Diary

What a strange couple of days this has been! It all seemed to start when I began chasing that golden rabbit. I don't know what he has against me, but he always seems to get me into some sort of trouble.

Oh well. A nice lunch at the Mushroom Inn quickly turned nasty after some big Pirahna Plants came down the main street and started annoying everyone. We managed to escape through a special underground tunnel. But now, I'm in a strange world with Madam Aroma. And I don't know where Link or Yoshi are!

In any case, I am troubled by these recent events. Not only because I've lost my friends, but also because I have so far been unable to work out what is going wrong in the Mushroom Kingdom. Where are those plants coming from? And why are they able to walk on the ground like that? I had always thought that Pirahna Plants needed a pot of dirt to stay alive...oh well.

I must find a way of returning to the Mushroom Kingdom soon, no matter what the cost!

Let me see here...I think that there might be an intercontinental railway nearby. "Memory Card Station", I think it's called. It allows video game characters to travel from one platform to another. How ingenious!

After checking my map, it seems that the nearest Mushroom Kingdom station is the Donut Plains Train Station. I should head in that direction and bid my current companions fairwell...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Link and Yoshi make their way through some underbrush. They're approaching the pirate's fortress, and are up on a hill overlooking the fortress courtyard. The courtyard is surrounded by a high, thick wall going out around from the base of the cliff to the edge of the sand. A small river, just deep enough to admit a boat, flows down from a hill on the north side of the fortress, and then bends around through the courtyard to head for the sea. At the points where the river flows under the wall are strong iron bars going across the passage. The only way in or out is either over the wall, or through the large gate which is positioned above and around the river exit, so that ships can sail out of the fortress and into the ocean. The gate, however, is closed and seems to be guarded from both the inside and outside. There are also three watch towers positioned around on the wall, with searchlights shining down into the courtyard.
Yoshi: And just how are you expecting to get in, let alone get out after you get in?
Link: Okay, the way that we get in is...um...hmm...
Link thinks how to get in to the fortress without being seen. There doesn't seem to be any way in. "There's always a way in," he thinks. "But what is it?" After a few minutes of thinking and watching, Link announces the plan.
Link: Okay, here's what we'll do. First, I'm going to head over as close as we can get to that watch tower over there, while still being up on the hill and level with the top of it. I'll take out the guard in the tower with my Bow & Arrows, and then use my Hookshot to get over to the tower. From there, I'll be able to get down into the courtyard. Once I'm in the courtyard, I'll take out any guards that might be patrolling, quietly mind you, and open up the main gate.
Yoshi: Wait a minute, what am I going to be doing this whole time?
Link: Oh, yeah. You're going to be the diversion.
Yoshi: What?!
Link: You'll go around to the main gate, and distract the guards there. When I give the signal, from inside the courtyard, you either run away and draw the guards away from the gate, or take them out.
Yoshi: But I don't want--
Link: Look, you can run fast, can't you? Outrun them! This is the only way we're going to be able to do this, and my part is a lot more dangerous than yours!
Yoshi: Fine...
Link: Okay, so, after the guards are gone, I'll open the gate from the inside and go grab one of the ships moored by the side of the river. I sail out into the ocean, and if you're running from the guards, you can jump onto the boat as I sail along the beach.
Yoshi looks at Link, not liking the plan at all. If it was up to him, they would still be back at Pac Beach.
Link: Right, so head over to the main gate, and try not to be seen until you're right up close to it. When you see the searchlight move up in the tower I'm going to head for, walk out and start distracting the guards.
Yoshi sighs, and then walks off, trying to be as quiet as possible. Link then heads off across the hills, over towards the south-most watchtower. He gets just level with the tower, so that the guard's upper body can be seen. Taking out his Bow & Arrows, he pulls off the tip of the arrow and puts on a small padded weight. He doesn't want to kill the guard, just knock him out.
Putting an arrow to the string, Link aims his Bow. With a faint "twang" sound, he fires the arrow, which hits the guard directly in the side of the head. "I've still got it!" Link thinks, as he puts away his Bow & Arrows and pulls out his Hookshot.
Meanwhile...
"Dangit, why am I doing this?!" Yoshi thinks, as he trudges down the hill towards the gate. "I wish we could have stayed at Pac Beach, rather than heading into a pirate fortress! Or we could have taken a train somewhere else! But nooooo, Link has to get back to the Mushroom Kingdom!" He carries on with similar thoughts for quite awhile, until he gets close to the gate. He hides in some bushes, just a few feet away from the pair of guards standing watch. He looks up, and waits for the searchlight to move. He waits, and waits, and then...the searchlight moves every so slightly. Just enough to be noticeable, yet not enough to attract attention.
Yoshi walks out from the bushes, trying to act casual. The guards (both of whom are women) immediately spot him, and reach for their long scimitars.
Guard1: Who goes there?!
Yoshi: Um, yeah, um, I was just wondering if, maybe, um...
Guard1: Well, out with it! We haven't got all night!
Yoshi: Yeah, see, um, I'm kinda lost, and I was wondering if you could give me some directions?
Guard2: Hey, wait a minute, I recognize you! You're Yoshi, aren't you?
Yoshi: Um, uh, y-yes, I am...
Guard2: Oh my gosh, can I get your autograph?!
Yoshi stares open-mouthed at the guard, who's giggling excitedly as she pulls out a piece of paper and a pen.
Back up in the tower...
Link hangs onto his Hookshot tightly as he flies through the air to the watchtower, over the long drop below him. After a couple seconds he lands on the tower, and checks the fallen guard. The guard he referred to earlier as a he is actually a she, and she is out cold. Even in the darkness, though, he recognizes the appearance of the guard. "Wow, these must be part of the same band of pirates that I encountered in Termina!" Link thinks. "Heh, they're really going to hate me now. Not only will I have stolen the Zora Eggs that they had stolen, but now I'm going to steal one of their boats."
Links thoughts return to the present, and he switches his attention to the searchlight. He nudges it ever so slightly, just enough to be noticed from a distance if you're looking for it, but not enough to attract any attention. He then looks down into the courtyard, and sees four patrolling guards. Two are standing next to the gate, and two more are circling around in the middle of the courtyard. After climbing down the ladder to the top of the wall, he pulls out one of his most treasured items: The Magic Cape. It's bright red with a white border. He puts on the cape, and suddenly, he disappears. All that could be seen of him would have been his shadow, but at night, the few torches burning around in the courtyard aren't enough to cast a visible shadow unless one is standing right next to them.
He hurries down the wall, wanting to take care of the four guards before his magic power, which powers the Magic Cape, runs out. Walking quickly and quietly, he makes his way out into the center of the courtyard, getting directly between the guards at the gate, and the two patrolling. He then pulls out Ether, a yellow medallion with a white lightning bolt in the center. Gripping the medallion tight, he unsheathes the Master Sword and holds it straight up into the sky. There's a bright white flash and a loud "foom!" sound, very much like a bolt of lightning. After the flash of light, however, all four of the guards are frozen solid and won't thaw out for a good day. Link quickly sheathes the Master Sword again, and puts away Ether. He keeps the Magic Cape on for as long as he can, however, and looks around at the various buildings around the inside edge of the wall, and the other two watch towers. No one comes out to investigate, however, everyone thinking the flash of light and noise to simply be a thunderstorm approaching. No one notices the small icicles that suddenly formed underneath the watchtowers, hanging down beneath them.
Just on the other side of the gate...
Guard2: Oh, this is so exciting, I can't believe I'm actually meeting you! I'm a big fan of yours!
Yoshi: Uh, thanks.
Yoshi writes "Thanks for the directions, your pal, Yoshi" on the paper, and hands it back to the guard.
Guard1: Um, okay, if you're done here, then I guess you should get going.
Guard2: You're sure you remember the directions to Pac Beach?
Yoshi: Yeah, I guess I should. Thanks again...
"Come on, Link, come on!" Yoshi thinks, trying to stall for time until Link gives him the signal. "It would probably help if I knew what the signal is. Maybe it'll be something big, so I'll just know it." Just as he finished his thought, there was a large flash of light and a loud "foom!" sound.
Guard2: You better hurry, or else you'll get caught out in the rain!
Yoshi looks up...and there's not a cloud in the sky. "Yep, something big and flashy, just like Link," he thinks.
Yoshi: Well, um, I guess I'll--
As Yoshi says this he opens his mouth and extends his tongue, and wraps it around Guard1's head. She screams as she's flung over into Guard2, and both are knocked to the ground.
Guard1: What's going on here?! Hey, get back here!
Yoshi runs off down the beach, with Guard1 in pursuit. Guard2 remains sitting on the ground, crying and staring at Yoshi's autograph, her tears falling down onto the sheet of paper. "Why would he do such a thing?" she thinks. "He's so cute and cuddly, and was never mean before..."
Time for the escape...
Link quickly runs over to the main gate, taking of the Magic Cape, having run out of magic power, and putting it away. He lifts the large iron bar, and pushes with all his strength. The huge metal doors refuse to budge, being meant to be opened and closed by five people at once. "Oh, no," he thinks, his mind racing. "How am I going to move this gate?!" ...And then he remembers something, something he hadn't used for quite some time. He reaches into a pocket, and pulls out the Golden Gauntlets. He puts them on, and gives another push to the giant gate. It swings open, making a loud grating noise as it swings back on its rusty hinges.
"Oh dang," he thinks, as he runs back and jumps into a boat. Pulling the rope up off the post keeping in from floating away, he starts up the small motor on the little three-man boat. At the same time, however, guards are pouring out of the buildings, and the two operational searchlights are both on his newly acquired boat. He points the boat out towards the center of the river, and guns the motor. He shoots out through the large, and now open gate, just as guards are about to reach the rivers edge. As he passes by, he sees a single guard sitting by the gate...crying? Link shakes his head, and then looks out along the beach. Yoshi is nowhere to be seen, and there are now boats heading out of the fortress to give chase. "Dang it!" Link thinks, scanning the beach for movement. "Where is he?!"
Just then, an arrow whizzes by, landing in the ocean just next to his boat. He pulls the rudder around to the left, swerving, and just manages to dodge a hail of arrows. He looks back at the beach one more time, just to check one last time, and then he swings the rudder around, pointing him out to sea. "Dang it, I hope he's okay," he thinks as he swerves back and fourth through the water, dodging hail after hail of arrows as the pirates chase him. "I don't like leaving him behind, but if I go back, I'll be dead for sure." He sighs as he dodges arrows flying all around him, heading off into the moonless night. Eventually, the pirates give up their chase, disgusted by being outmaneuvered in one of their own boats.
A few minutes pass. Link slows the boat, looking up to the stars. He pulls out his Fairy Ocarina and plays the Song of Healing, slowly, drawing out each note. "I was fast, but not fast enough," he thinks. He gazes back in the direction of the shore, wondering if Yoshi has been captured, of if he got away...
Samus sat at the small table in her house on the edge of the Samus Earth Colony.
She had spent the past several days acting as a police officer. She hadn?t done anything interesting, only catching an amateur bank robber, countless shoplifting teenagers and a man who was trying to import illegal mushrooms. Nothing interesting, or worthy of her talents.
She poured herself a glass of nutrient juice and turned on the local news?
*Cheesy music plays, then a man and a woman sitting behind a metal desk appear on the screen*
Man: "This is the eight o'clock news. We bring you a live story from Mushroom kingdom now."
*The picture changes to a reporter standing in front of an inn.*
Reporter: "We have received news that this inn was attacked by a swarm of piranha plants that were somehow able to move around without their pots. The occupants of the inn were saved by the heroic actions of three local heroes; Yoshi, Mario and Link. None of them could be reached for comment. Now back to you."
*The image changes back to two hosts*
Woman: "Now another of our top stories, the reported theft of a pair of shoes from a local store!"
Samus turned off the TV and sat, pondering the news of the rogue piranha plant attack. There wasn?t anything to do around here; maybe she should go help solve this mystery.
She charged up her armored suit and loaded it with various things that she would need for her travels. Then she locked up her house and set off for Mushroom Kingdom?
OOC: Zidane, TEDBZ has already said he's in Pallet town, you can't tell people what to post. So, I will post as if I am interacting with him as HE said he collapsed at my feet and Ginnylyn ignored that fact. lol.
Sorry for the short post, lack of inspiration.
DESBREKO! I desprately want a SSB battle, I will accept as soon as the other two battles have finished. So basically, I am reserving a place if that is cool with you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Knuckles: !! Oh my God, where the hell did you come from?

Sonic lay motionless on the floor.

Knuckles: Damn it!

He turned to the others.

Knuckles: You can do what you want, I'm gonna help my friend, you know the one here, (he points) the blue hedgehog that's unconscious.

He grabed his friend and slung him over his shoulder.

Knuckles: Anyone comin with me?

He turned and ran in the direction that looked most populated. Auron and the rest stood still.

Auron: Oh dear...*sigh*

Auron began to run, hardly as fast, but in the same direction as the Knuckles shaped blur.

Yes, well I told Desbreko that he may start a battle because Warlock hasn't been on to finish his battle. Basically, it's kind of unfair to make everyone wait. It's not his fault that he's busy, and I'm sure he'll agree with the decision.

Anyway, why don't you just accept Desbreko's challenge, The One, Schratn9, and Lauren? That way eveyone wins.

If this is a big problem, I'll allow more than one battle to go on at once, just this one time, because of this misunderstanding, lol. So, even Majora's Mask will have something to do.

A lot of you have been putting in serious effort, so you deserve an opportunity for a break in the action anyway.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Raccoon City was certainly different from the Green Hill Zone--that's for sure. I knew that we weren't in Kansas anymore.

High above the streets, in our Floating Egg, devices, that I had masterfully constructed just for this opportunity, Don Luigi, that imbecile Dr. Wily, and myself, heard creatures scuttling about and moaning down below.

I bet that Sonic is relaxing in a hammock right now, living the high life. That meddlesome wretch doesn't have a clue. He thinks that he's saving the world every time he throws a wrench into my plans. Oh, if I could see his face if he ever knew what existed outside of his serene little paradise.

As the headlights of my Floating Egg pierced and parted the smog down below, dozens--no hundreds, of twisted faces howled--possessed by--something. No doubt about it, if someone wanted to live on Mean Street, they'd move here.

Worse yet, my stomach growled. Oh, how I wanted a chili dog. I was concerned that the lost souls down below would spot us due to my belly's increasing impatience. That fool, Dr. Wily heard my lustful moaning and almost stained his pants.

Much to my chagrin, even the local fast food joints had been ravaged--their employees were apparently eaten.

"Mama-Mia!"

The hairs on my neck stood rigid. That amateur, Don Luigi cried out at the top of his super lungs, ignoring the stealth portion of our mission.

Apparently, he felt my glare through the darkness. "Was not my fault" he exclaimed, once again trying my patience.

He was pointing at something--down below. I couldn't see it at first, but sure enough, there it was--a living being walking down below. It wasn't like the others.

"That's our man," Wily said, giggling his raspy giggle (as if he had something to do with this unexpected turn of events).

Exhibiting my wise gifts, I reasserted my leadership.

"Be cautious men," I warned, "The Subject, Albert Wesker is extremely dangerous. His wits rival even our own. Treachery is his mother, cruelty, his father. Beware, he is perhaps more so dangerous than Sonic, Mario or Megaman."

When I had finished my speech, I noticed that Wily and Don Luigi were already down below speaking to the suave man draped in black.

He spoke his words, slowly and deliberately. I swear, the man was colder than the dead plaguing the surrounding city.

"I will accept your proposition on one condition," he told Luigi, "I want samples of every specimen we collect. Link, Yoshi, Mario, Sub Zero--I want them all. You would do best to comply. For, my wits rival even your own. Treachery is my mother, cruelty, my father. Beware, I am perhaps more so dangerous than Sonic, Mario or Megaman."

With those words, he casually shot an approaching zombie, and slid the sleek sunglasses off his eyes and away from his sterile statuesque face. I couldn't help but to be taken back. His eyes--they glowed.

I would later learn that he had acquired Jenova blood cells from a specimen that gave him the gifts of super strength, speed and agility. Through a secret contact, he had acquired such gifts, and escaped. The boy was resourceful! He reminded my of myself at that age.

The world's greatest threat was now four strong. The best part was, that the earth's greatest heroes were yet to be made aware of our growning entourage of cutthroats. But, they would soon feel our impact--our brutal imppacet.

Three hours pass by, Rick Hunter wakes up willing to take the next guard duty shift and relieve dot of her duties.

Rick Hunter: Dot....I think you should go to bed. You've done more then enough of your share of guard duty for the night.

Dot: But I promised Pac Man that I would hold my own too!

Rick Hunter: You already have, now go to sleep. I'm a trained military solider if anyone can handle guard duty it?s an elite RDF Pilot like myself.

Dot: Ok but wake either one of us up if trouble occurs.

Rick Hunter: Will do!

Dot goes to sleep, Rick Hunter stands guard duty until he notices a working computer in a near by room.

Rick Hunter: Ah perfect if I can uplink to the UN Spacy network. I can contact Admiral Gloval and the others.

Rick Hunter activates the computer accessing the UN Spacy Network, a com link goes through with his commanding Officer and part time love interest Lisa Hayes.

Rick Hunter: SDF-1 come in, this is Lt. Rick Hunter of Skull Squadron reporting. SDF-1 do you read me? Sigh its no use....

Lisa: Rick is that you....

Rick Hunter: Commander Hayes! I'm currently in Raccoon City the mission objectives are a failure. Zombies and monsters possess this city. I request immediate assistance with a drop ship of VF-19 Veritech Fighters!

Lisa: Rick the VF-19 is a heavy armor veritech, how could you possibly not still have it. After all you did leave the SDF-1 with it?

Rick Hunter: Lisa I crashed it! The whole jet went out of control and I was forced to make a forced entry.

Lisa: Typical Lunk Head. So what?s the situation Rick? Why haven't you called earlier.

Rick Hunter: Lisa!? Why do you want to know is it for business reasons? Or personal?

Lisa: Rick obviously its business...and personal!

Rick Hunter: Well if you must know since landing various zombies and monsters have attacked me. I even had to save two life forms that come from a place called Pac village.

Lisa: Rick do you honestly want me to believe you saved them, I'm pretty sure it was vice versa.

Rick Hunter: -_- Why you! I'll have you know that it was a 50/50 deal we saved each other. Anyway the last means of escape has been destroyed via yours truly. I request three VF-19's for my companions.

Lisa: Rick I can't grant that request.....we're currently facing off against a Zentradi defensive. We have virtually no VF-19's to spare.

Rick Hunter: Damn it Lisa! I need something can't you get me anything?

Lisa: Well there is the cyclone, however it hasn't been fully tested...yet.

Rick Hunter: That?s a chance I'm willing to take!

Lisa: Rick but if something were to happen to you, I would feel responsible Rick I lov..

Rick cuts Lisa off

Rick Hunter: Can you just send it please?

Lisa: (Sigh) All right I'll send a drop ship to deploy the cyclone for you. Rendezvous at point Alpha Zero-Nine. And Rick please be careful if something were to happen to you I don't know what would .....

The computer goes dead.

Rick Hunter: Lisa! Lisa! Can you read me? God Damn it! Sigh, I have to go. I can't afford to write a letter. I'll just leave and meet up with them later. I'm sorry my friends but this is our only chance for survival, the cyclone.

Rick Hunter races out the door of the abandoned office building to get the mysterious cyclone.

Rick Hunter: Destination Main Street!

So, uh, what's happening with the SSB battle, then? If we're going to have two battles at once, why don't Lauren and Schratn9 have a 2-P battle while me, Boba Fett, The One, and Majora's Mask have a 4-P battle? (If Majora's Mask wants to participate, anyway).

And happy birthday, CWB. The big 21, heh. Gonna go out drinking? ;)

Link wakes up the next morning, the sun beating down on him as he lies on the deck of the small boat. He stands up slowly and yawns, looking out at the horizon all around him. There's nothing but water for as far as he can see, and not a cloud in the sky. A breeze blows down from the north, and small waves ripple along the surface of the ocean waters.

After having gotten out past the large eastern point of the continent with Pac Village and the Green Hill Zone on it, Link points the boat south after consulting a small Compass which he carries with him at all times. He puts up the sail and it catches the breeze, sending him slowly south and a bit east towards the large ocean current running down in between the two largest continents. Once in the current, the going will be much quicker, but until then Link is left with little to do. He stares south to the horizon, thinking about the recent events that took place only in the last few days.

"Last few days certainly have been busy," he thinks, letting his mind wander. "Not much of a vacation at all... But it did feel good to be back in action after all this time of barely doing anything since Ganon and the others were locked up. Infiltrating that fortress was almost fun." Link's eyes narrow, as he thinks back through the assault on the fortress. "Still, it wasn't worth leaving Yoshi behind. I can't bare to think of what might be happening to him, if he's been captured..." Link clenches his hands into fists and then releases them, and continues to do this, as he paces back and fourth along the length of the boat. He continues to pace, mind wandering, as his boat starts to pick up speed in the ocean current. At this rate, he should arrive at the shore of the Mushroom Kingdom in a day or two. He takes down the sail, to let the current push him south without the wind affecting his course.

Making their way down the back alleys, Jim and Megan were exhausted but they had to go on. A single moment of rest could cause their death on the streets of Raccoon City, they needed a place to rest for a little while. Looking around they could see no place remotely safe looking, but something caught Megan's eye. Looking up at the clock tower standing tall, she seen someone standing on the balcony with a long black coat blowing in the wind.

'Jim! Look!' Megan said as she yanked on Jim's arm, looking up Jim seen the figure too. 'It might be Sephy! Let's go get him!' Megan yelled with excitement. Jim just nodded his head, and in they went. The clock tower was empty, and surprisingly no zombies roamed the halls. However, there was a creature new to them watching from above. Crawling on the ceiling, it's presence unknown to them. Megan ran ahead of Jim a bit, and came to the balcony where she saw the figure.

Upon arriving there, she looked around the balcony and found what it was they seen. What she saw shattered her hopes, it was nothing more then a statue with a black cloth stuck to it. 'No! This can't be!' Megan said as she fell to her knees, Jim finally caught up and stood next to her looking around. 'So where is he?' Jim asked, Megan just pointed at the statue and Jim sighed.

'Well...it's not what we were looking for. But, you know this clock tower does seem safe enough. We could rest here for a little bit.' Jim said as he kneeled down next to her placing his hand on her shoulder. Megan just sobbed, and nodded as she simply replied 'Okay.'

Jim got up, and walked to the balcony rail looking down at the city below. Fires raged uncontrollably, mobs of the living dead are seen fighting over freshly killed prey, strange creatures such as lickers seen crawling walls in the distance. The city had turned into nightmare, one of which no one could ever awaken from.

'We've got to get out of this damned city, but how?' Jim questioned himself out loud. Megan just sighed again, and placed her hand on the rail pulling herself up. 'We don't.' Megan replied with tears rolling down her face, and she continued 'We die here, in this city.'

'Stop that!' Jim yelled at Megan, then spoke again 'We'll make it, we'll get out of this place. You'll see.' Megan just shook her head, and cried into her hands. Just as Jim tried to pat her on the back, a rock falls from above and hits the rail next to them. Both of them jump, and look towards the rail frightened out of their minds.

Then, just as they began to think it was just the wind blowing a loose piece of rubble off the stone structure, they heard a familiar voice. 'S.T.A.R.S...' the voice bellowed out, and simultaneously Jim and Megan look at each other then to the roof above. There stood the large creature from before, it's purplish tentacle swayed freely from it's hand pulsing with the plague that created so many monsters. It's coat swayed slightly as it just looked down upon them, then suddenly without warning it drops down in front of them.

Shock, and fear etched on their faces. Reacting as quickly as he could Jim pulled his pistol free, and fired off a couple bullets. All made contact, but did little to slow it's approach as it menacingly stalked them on the semi small balcony. Coming right up to Jim the creature back handed him, and he fell over the rail. Luckily he managed to grab the rail on the way over, looking down he began to pull him self up quickly. The monster stood by Jim looking down as he swayed helplessly, it raised it's arms ready to smash the rail and Jim together.

But Megan grabs Jim's loose gun, and fired randomly at the beast. Her aim was bad, and most of the shots missed but the ones that hit were enough to piss it off. It turned and roared, with another backhand the monster sent Megan against the wall. Now stalking Megan it grabbed her by the throat lifting her into the air, it's free hand inches from her face, the tentacle teasingly swaying about her face.

She cried, and gripped at the monsters hand trying to pull free but it was impossible. Jim had pulled himself over, and if he wanted to save Megan he would have to react quickly. Looking around he found a bag of cement mix and sitting next to it was a trowel (a tool used to spread cement mix), quickly grabbing the trowel Jim ran right up and plunged it into it's back.

With a roar it's tentacle retracted and it tossed Megan away as it swung around knocking Jim away as well. Jim flew back, and landed next to Megan, and both watched as the creature spun around trying to remove the trowel from it's back. 'What the hell does it take to stop this thing?!' Jim yelled as his eyes grew wide with shock, Megan just looked below the creature seeing a puddle of water. Apparently it was spilled by the worker(s) trying to repair the damages to the stone structure. Megan turned back, and looked towards a spotlight on the balcony shinning brightly in the sky.

Grabbing the wire she pulled as hard as she could, the light went out as the wire was ripped from it's base. Just as the creature finally pulled the trowel free, she smiled slyly at it then tossed the wire into the puddle around the monsters feet. As it touched the water electricity surged through the beasts body, sparks began to fly and the monster roared out in immense pain.

Finally, the wire shorted out and the electrical current stopped flowing, the monster fell to it's knees now with smoke emitting from it's body. Just as it feel over, it once again muttered 'S.T.A.R.S....'

It laid, body twitching, seemingly dead. Jim stood up, and smiled at Megan then spoke 'Smart thinking. Now let's get out of here before it wakes up.'

'What? But I fried the sucker! He can't come back from that.' Megan declared, but Jim cut her off 'No, it's not over. Trust me! So far it's been shocked twice, impaled, shot the hell out of, and only God knows what else happened to it. But it just keeps coming. Let's go!'

Megan didn't say another word, and both of them went back inside the clock tower then began to head down. As they ran down the hall, they heard something else thumping around on the ceiling. Now, it's presence was know as the creature dropped down on top of Megan. 'HOLY S**T!!!' Jim screamed out as he seen a huge spider trying to nip at Megan. Megan tried with all her might to push it off, but all she was doing was keeping it from biting her, which is still better then nothing.

Suddenly, the giant spider spewed a sticky green liquid into Megan's face. She coughed as it gagged her, and made her feel sick. Megan has been poisoned, and she laid under the spider weakening but Jim stepped in. Running up to the spider Jim kicked it as hard as he could knocking it off and onto it's back. Jim grabbed Megan, and puller her towards the door but it was stuck shut by a huge web that was not their before.

Reaching for his gun, Jim felt nothing then looked back toward the spider squirming to roll over. His gun lays to the side of the spider, he had dropped it due to the force he put in his kick. Running over he reaches for his gun, but the spider quickly flips over back onto it's feet. It snaps at Jim, and barley misses. Crawling back Jim tries to get away from the spider, finally coming to the door again he just sits next to Megan who is now unconscious.

The spider slowly approached it's prey now cornered, it stood on it's back legs and hissed at Jim. Just as things were looking bleak again, the roof came down and Sephiroth with it. His sword plunged through the spider, and with a twist it died screeching horridly. It's green blood oozed over the hallway's carpet, and on the sword's blade. Once again Sephiroth was there to save them, but Megan now laid sick, poisoned by the spider's sticky venom.

Sephiroth left his blade impaled in the spider, and stuck in the floor to make his way to Megan. 'I hope it's not too late.' Sephiroth said as he raised his arms as a green aura emitted from his body. Jim kneeled by Megan, and watched as the green aura traveled from Sephiroth's body over Megan's. The poison was removed from Megan's body, but it had already done damage.

Megan laid motionless still, and Jim hung his head in sorrow. Sephiroth just stared at her emotionless expression as she laid there, he shook his head and then raised his arms again. This time a blue aura flowed from his hands as Sephiroth kneeled down next to Megan, and lifted her upper body placing his hand over her heart. Finally, he stopped and she still didn't move. It looked as if she was gone, but suddenly she coughed and gagged as the air filled her lungs again. Sephiroth has healed her, and prevented her death.

Looking up, she saw Jim smiling down at her from the left, she smiled back then realized he wasn't the one holding her. Looking to her right she sees Sephiroth with half of a smile across his face, she hugged him and cried because of her near death experience. All she could say was 'Thank you, Sephy.' After resting for a little while, they finally decided to leave. Megan was able to stand again, and Sephiroth pulled the Masamune from the spiders corpse. Walking to the door he swings the sword, and the hinges were cut off then another cut removed the giant web.

The door fell out of the frame, and onto the floor with a simple gesture, Sephiroth motioned for Jim and Megan to follow.

I woke up early that morning with Dot cuddled in my arms. She had somehow worked her way in there but hey, I'm not complaining. A bit of light came streaming into the room, and I was able to see everything. The bads new is that something was missing, and that something was Rick.

I stood up and streched my arms, from the window I could see everything outside. A storm was brewing, and it looked like it was gonna be big. I just hoped that Rick wasn't in danger, it would be difficult to find him in the middle of a storm.

Dot yawned and rolled into her side, facing me. She was half asleep, but could still tell that something was the matter.

"What's wrong Pac?"
"It's Rick. I think he is missing."
"What makes you think that?"
"I don't know where he is."
"Oh."
"Let's see... last night Rick.. he..."
"Yes?"
"...he let me go to sleep while he took watch."
"Did he mention that he was going somewhere?"
"No... well actually, maybe. I don't remember much from last night."
"Do you remember why you crawled into my arms?"
"Heh, well you see... about that..."

There wasn't much time for conversation. The clouds were starting to become thicker and more dense than ever. Soon the sky would turn very dark, possibly even dark enough for those rotting sacks of meat to come and attack the fresh sack of meat.

I decided that we should stay there and wait for him. If he came back and we were gone, he might get even more lost looking for us. In the meantime Dot and I tried to figure out what our relationship was, because I didn't have a clue.

"Dot, I'm a married Pac-Man. I can't cheat on her, no matter how emotionally painful your feelings for me are."
"No, you misunderstood..."
" -- No! Hush, don't say a thing. You will only make it harder for yourself."

It was obvious that she was heartbroken. I couldn't stand to watch those abnormally large and black eyes swell up with tears, I decided to leave and look for Rick. Anything was better than seeing the torment she must have been suffering.

I gave Dot instructions to stay inside the oabandoned office building no matter what. The storm would be getting worse and worse as the day progressed, and one of us neeeded to guard our camp.

Slowly into the rain I wandered throughout the city, looking for Rick and calling his name. Finally, after about an hour of searching I saw a human figure in the distance accompanied by another voice. Was it Rick?
