Ok, I wasn't planning on ever... well... spending my money on one of these damn things, but I did. Why you ask? For the simple reason of Halo. So yeah... I dunno if this has ever been asked here, since I've uhh... never been in this forum, But do many or any of you all play Halo online using XBConnect or whatever? My friend finally set his up and my friends and I have been playing it the last few weeks and I decided I misewell get one and do the same. I really don't like the system myself, but it's the only way to get to play this game. So yeah... I never actually thought I'd ever post in this forum lol, but I guess now I misewell.

I helped out my cousin set up his X-box to play online so we get together sometimes, but it takes up almost all of the DSL bandwith so none of the other computers in his house can go online. I was thinking of buying one too just for the sake of playing the same game at home so I don't have to bother them, but I think I'll wait until another price drop.

HALO is just one of those games that is so good, it alone is a ood enough reason to buy the console. I bought one a while back. I am kinda disappointed with the games out right now. Theres a good lineup of games set to be out soon that will spice it up some, such as Panzer Dragoon. But right now, there isn't much. Im still trying to get my hands on Steel Battalion and that huge joystick rig..... Any mech fan has to be in love with that thing.

TN, as of now, the only way you can play Halo online with other people is through GameSpy's "Arcade" you need to Download two different programs enable to play. Other then the two programs, you also need a Switch, Router, or Hub to hook your X-Box and PC together, along with either of these you also need CAT. 5, or ethernet cable what have you, to hook each compenent together. And of coarse you need some form of Broadband internet service. I have only played on Gamespy's Arcade twice, the lag got to the point that it wasn't even worth playing.

If you can wait, Microsoft is releasing it's X-Box internet service, "X-Box Live," in November. Enable to take advantage of this service, you need to buy a set that's going to run for about $50, this set gives you a headset to communicate with other X-Boxers instantly, a 1 year subscription to the internet service, and i believe a game, i currently cannot think of the title, sorry. The X-Box Live Starter Kit (the actual name of the set) will be released November 5, 2002 (getting conflicting dates on the launch, some say November 15th some say November 5th), and can already be pre-ordered at a well known Website, if you wish to know what site i speak of PM me.

Saddly, Halo is not X-Box Live enabled, but if you're looking for shoot 'em up fun, go ahead and buy Unreal Championship which is to be available at launched for X-Box Live. You could also get Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, which is also to be available at launch. launched. I hope this helped somewhat. And i apologize if anything is spelled wrong or grammar is off, i am pretty tired.

Somehow I think a lot of people have done that. I've had the thing since December and only have Halo and Jet Set Radio Future for it. I'm not sure what games you might be into, but Target has been clearancing out a lot of games lately. You might want to see what they have. I've found about 10 games worth buying at a few different stores, and haven't paid more than 15 a piece for them (one was only 4 dollars heh).

Well I am not a big online gamer, so I don't belive that I will be useing this feature any time soon. :) But I love connecting Xboxs and having one big party type thing. It's better than online if you ask me. You get to see their reactions when you kill them. ;) But online has it's advantages too, there is almost always someone to play with.

I play Halo online through XBConnect.... in fact I did it last night.... and the night before that.... I can already play online, thats not the problem. There is no problem, except for the fact I spent $250 on a game and a system to play one game, but thats more my problem than yours.
...there's no Counter Strike game on X-Box. There's only like 5 rooms (one room per game), last i remember, that Gamespy has up for people to play in.
