Liam yawned and got out of bed. Hmm, eight AM, seven hours sleep. Seemed he had a new record. He yawned and wandered over to the closet, getting changed into some board-shorts and yet another orange shirt. He tucked the Eagle under his shirt at the back before heading downstairs to the kitchen. He blinked at the blood on the counter and said blankly, ?So that?s still there. Huh. Better clean it up before the whole world knows.? He winked at Craig and walked back up to his room, taking his jacket with him.

When he came back downstairs he snatched a bowl and the box of Weet-Bix, noting the image in the corner of the box proclaiming that the ?World Champion Wallabies eat Weet-Bix.? He chuckled. If only they knew. He snatched up his bowl and wandered around the counter and into the lounge, sitting opposite Craig and munching down a few mouthfuls.

Craig raised an eyebrow, ?God, you try so hard at the normal teenager look don?t you??

Liam contorted his face into insincere surprise, ?Whatever do you mean Craig? I am a normal teenager.? Siren rolled her eyes behind her drink.

Craig couldn?t help but smile, slightly. Liam went back to his bowl, finishing it and taking it back to the kitchen. After sitting back on the couch in the lounge, he checked his watch, eight thirty AM. Still another four hours before they actually got their damn briefing. He sighed and folded his arms, thinking. Then he remembered the gym...could go there...if there was a gym there should be shooting range inside of it...nah...better off just sitting here and enjoying Craig?s company. He glanced over at the silent Craig. Somehow he didn?t think any company was to be enjoyed here...he could always hunt down Adam and forcibly extract the mission information out of him. Sounds good.

Liam stood and motioned to leave, Craig raised his head and asked, ?Where might you be going??

Liam smirked, ?Around,? and left the room.

Rae groaned as someone whispered for her to wake up. She swore as the covers were ripped off her. "What do you want???" She screamed as she bolted upright. Adam drew back.Rae sighed. "Sorry, Adam. Long night."

"No sleep?" He asked sympathetically.

She smiled. "Something like that." She looked at her watch. "Its eight thirty!" She bellowed. "Why am I up now?"

Adam grimaced. He really was in the wrong line of work, Rae mused. Originally he'd joined because he held the ideallistic thought of changing the world for the better. He'd stayed joined to get money to open his own PR business. Adam had a knack for making anything seem good. He had enough money now, Rae knew. She'd looked at his bank account. He was, she realised, staying in because of her.

"Breakfast, Rae."

Rae glared at him.

"You know you don't eat if I don't pester you."

"Yes, mum."

"Raellyra..." he said warningly.

A part of Rae pulled back. This was ridiculous. He was mothering her! She smiled her sweetest smile at him. He frowned.

"Adam..." she started...

"No." He clapped his hands over his ears in a childlike gesture.

"Oh, come on Adam, you dont even know what I'm going to ask yet..."

"I'm don't care. Whenever you do I end up telling you."

"Adam!" she cried frustratedly.

He started singing. "I'm not listening, I'm not listening!"

Rae laughed helplessly. He was the most childish person she'd ever known. She patted his arm. "Fine then. I won't ask. I can always hack into the files and find out anyway..." He glared at her.

"Don't you dare."

"I have all the passwords..."

"You wouldn't..."

"I would."

"You couldn't..."

"You sound like a girl, Adam. And I can."

Adam sighed. She always won. "Fine, what do you want to know?"

"Well," she started..."why haven't you left yet? You know you want to, Adam."

"I'm not going into that, Rae."

She put on a pout. "Please..."

"No Rae," and stormed out.

Niomi walks aimlessly and found a basketball court. She looked on the ground and picked up a ball.

Niomi: i never noticed this was here before.

She went to the court, took off her jacket and practiced her shots on the fowl line and the "around the world" She did some lay ups. and some dribbling excercizes.

Niomi: this is fun.

Liam walked out of the room, and turned back to notice that Craig was only a few paces behind. An amused look spread over Liam's face.

Liam: You coming? I was just going to find Adam and... ask him a few questions.

Craig: Got nothing better to do.

Craig smiled genuinly and shrugged, maybe he was deciding to try and warm to the group. The walked together now, in step, off towards Adam's room.

Iitashi hurried over to HQ, he was late. His mother had been shot a few times, so he went to the hospital to see if she was okay. 'Nothing she couldn't handle', she had said.
After a short ride, Iitashi parked his motorcycle and ran to the door and slid his clearance card, put his left thumb on the pad, and spoke his name for the voice recognition system.
Iitashi: "Iitashi Tamura."

Iitashi ran inside to the commander's office and knocked on the door.
Commander: "Come in."
Iitashi opened the door, bowed and sat down.
Commander: "Ah, Iitashi. I heard what happened to Eriko, you have my condolences."
Iitashi: "Thank you commander."

Iitashi bowed and walked out of the door, and to his room to look through his files.

There was movement ahead in the corridor, outside Rae?s room. Liam raised an eyebrow and walked forward, realising who the mysterious figure was.

?Ah,? Liam said, ?The man of the hour.?

Adam glanced around in confusion and then leant forward to Liam and Craig, ?What? What is it??

Liam smiled, ?We just wanna know what?s going on, Adam. I mean, if this mission was important as the Commander says, he?d want his best,? Liam tried to contain a snort of laughter, giving the impression of a man choking to death, ?as I was saying, best intelligence officer on the job.? Adam?s chest swelled with pride, and collapsed when Liam continued to speak, ?And seeing as you?re still here, he did. Now, that would leave you with the job of briefing us. So Adam, Craig and I here wish to move this, uh, conference forward to...lets say, now.?

Adam was silent, he glanced back and forth at the two, images of what they had accomplished sprung to his mind. He suddenly felt slightly ill, but he gulped down the fear in his throat and began to speak.

?On one condition,? he said, ?You don?t tell Rae. I mean, she asked me before, but I didn?t tell her...so yeah.?

Liam smirked, ?Ah, didn?t tell sis eh? Well it?s fine by me, I wont tell her anything, as it seems you?re about to tell her.?

Adam raised an eyebrow, following Craig and Liam?s glance to Rae?s dorm, and Rae standing with her hands on hips, annoyed. Adam paled.

?Right, uh, where should I begin??

Rae answered, ?Where all good stories start, brother. The beginning.?

Adam gulped once more before starting, ?Well here it is, you?ve all heard from the commander about the threats, right?? the group nodded the affirmative, ?Well, we?ve traced them. The threats and letter bombs have all been traced to several locations all over the world, owned by what we believe to be a group that split off from the same terrorist faction that caused the fiasco last year.? He nodded at Liam, ?Your sister was, uh, I mean, that is, she is investigating one of the leads in Cambodia with a crack team of S.A.S.?

Liam obviously wasn?t impressed. ?How long ago did you lose contact??

Adam shook his head, ?Nuh-uh, that?s classified that is.?

Liam shook his head, ?Right, classified, always with the bloody classified isn?t it Adam? Remind me if I get back out of this mission to come back and kick you up the ***!?

If? A shiver ran through Rae and Craig. Liam was talking about a mission like he?d never come through it, it was a small Freudian slip, but both felt it.

Adam continued speaking, ?A few other agents and S.A.S teams, Seals, whatever, depending on their mother country, have been deployed also. Apparently your mission is to track down these agents, find out if they?re alive or not, and then infiltrate these terrorist compounds. Clean and simple.?

?What if the agents are dead?? Craig said.

Adam looked taken back, ?Well, uh, I have no idea...probably burn them beyond recognition and bury them somewhere?

Again the small cluster was silent. Well, Rae in particular, Craig and Liam nodded. Standard procedure. Rae however was slightly shocked, she knew everything about the SYF procedure, but never thought she?d have to know how to deal with fallen agents when in another country. She sighed and nodded.

?That?s all I know,? Adam said, ?Basically I won?t find out all of the plan until ten minutes before you do. I had a feeling the commander knew what you guys would try to do.? Adam turned and continued down the corridor, leaving the trio to think over what they?d just learned.

Ryan stepped out of his doorway and into the empty hallway.

He has spent the last several minutes listening to Adam telling Rae, Liam and Craig about their upcoming mission. It sounded interesting. He walked down the hall and into the cafeteria, which was now empty as breakfast was long over.

Ryan sat down at one of the tables and waited. He had been there for ten minutes when four cooks showed up, all looking nervous.

They were walking in a bent diamond formation, and talking to each other in whispers. The man in the back kept looking at his watch, then patting a lump in his pocket.

Ryan frowned. The way they were looking around suggested they didn't belong here. He stood and walked over to them. They all froze and looked at him apprehensively.

Ryan: "Your here a little early for making lunch..."

Cook 1: "Uh, yeah we are going to make the appet-"

Ryan: "Sure, sure. How'd you get in here?"

Cook 2: "We were hired to make food for a conference here at noon."

Ryan: "Whatever. While you're in the kitchen, make me a sandwich will ya."

Cook 1: "Look kid, we have importantthings to do. So if you'll excuse us..."

Ryan pulls out his Beretta and wraps his finger around the trigger.

Cook 2: "Ok, ok. We'll make your sandwich..."

The cooks hurried out of the room, and Ryan grinned...

Niomi slaps her brother and runs.

Niomi: get away from me chris!

Chris chases after her.

Niomi's thoughts continue to flutter as she quickly heads towards HQ. She knew he was dead, she saw him die her self. Then something clicks, as she reaches for her gun.

Niomi: (mumbles) The coat, i left my coat.

The silence was broken by Rae's laughter. "He knows me too well. He also knows more than he's letting on. Could you see his eyes darting around? He was desperate to get away from us...you" she amended. "You're two mean sons of a b***h."

Liam smiled and bowed with flowery hand movements. "Oh, I try."

"I know." Rae bit her lip, considering something. "Liam, if the information's on the files you could probably get them. The passwords are so easy even a child could break into the computors." Leaving it at that, she turned to Craig.

"Do you really burn the bodies?"

"Yes."

"Does it smell?"

He sighed, as if becoming irritated. "Yes."

Rae wrinkled her nose. "Is there much smoke?"

"Usually happens when things burn."

Was there a twitch of laughter around his mouth? "Well, do I get to burn something eventually...that isn't bodies?"

He stared.

"What? I like the flames. And , the bigger the flames, the more fun it is."

Liam groaned. "We have a budding pyromaniac running around with guns. What are the chances? And we'll probably end up with flamethrowers too, by some twisted fate."

Rae smiled uncertainly. "I see." She didn't, and they probably both knew it, but it sure made her feel better.

Craig pulled her arm out to look at her watch. "Eleven thirty. Half an hour won't harm us, will it?"

They stared.

"It was a rhetorical question." The others nodded.

Rae sighed. "I should train. I'm not going to have time to do it after the briefing."

She walked off to the gym. Deciding she'd like some music, she turned to the sound system. The sound system with holes in it. Bullet holes. Sighing, she started muttering about "inconsiderate f**kwits", occasiconally adding the words "trigger-happy."

Turning to the bags, she noticed only one was left. The others all lay in pieces. "Joy," she murmered."Fine," she said, looking around, "I get the picture. I won't train that way." She instead went to the wide open space used as a floor. It was padded, making it easy on the arms. Starting at one end, she ran to the middle, where she vaulted into a series of handstands, bariahs, walkovers and cartwheels, ending with a flip. Rolling her shoulders, Rae wished she'd warmed up first. Striding over to the beam, she mounted, starting off with a handstand, careful to get her hand positioning correct. One slip meant broken ribs, or, at the very least, a winding. Neither of which she wanted.

Finishing, Rae was moved to the bathroom, washing her face and hands. From the window, she could see Niomi. Was she running from someone? She was. Sprinting back to her gunbelt, which she had left when she started her routine, Rae pulled out her gun and made sure it was loaded, running back to the window and jumping out. It was actually rather far down, Rae noted as she hit the ground, unconsciously making sure she didn't hurt herself. Dismissing that thought Rae pulled up her gun and aimed, shooting a warning shot right near the guys shoe. "What are you doing?

Siren walked into the training room, surveying the damage... She smirked, recognizing the intense training... She crossed the gym to the small iron door on the far side...

Computer: Voice identification required...

Siren: Siren Starr Kojia...

Computer: Verified... Please enter and choose your level...

She entered the building the room, the door shutting enclosing her into the inky blackness... She considers for a moment... Best start simple...

Siren: Level four

The room lightened a bit and faint red beams criss crossed the room tightly... Siren stretched her arms then walked to the edge of the stationary beams... They were state of the art security beams... Nothing difficult... Just a warm up... She backed up to the wall, then ran straight at it, and at the last second she vaulted up and over landing in a hole in the center... She glanced around then dove head first through a gap, landing on her hands and flipping sideways... Then she arieled over the next three lines, landing perfectly on the other side... She went to the far wall and hit the pad for a level change...

Siren: Level seven...

Computer: To enter this level you must be accompanied... Please activate second pass code..

Siren swore vividly...

Computer: Incorrect... Please retry your pass code...

Siren smirked then her face fell... This new system was annoying... She stopped... Of course... She deepened her voice and changed it slightly to match her guardians...

Siren: Julius Lee McGrath...

Computer: Confirmed...

The room darkened and the beams grew more intense... She crossed over to them... Siren stuck her hand in quickly and a huge shock racked her body... She stumbled back to the wall and leaned against it... She shook her head to clear it before running headlong at the electrical, moving, red beams... She pelted under one then over another... She was constant motion, never stopping for breath... Siren constantly had to change her course because of the beams... She preformed a complex series of flips and rolls... A final back flip carried her over the last beam... She landed just on the last centimeter of monitored floor and a new beam cut into her... A silent scream tore itself from her throat and she fell to the floor as the beam moved... She crawled as far as the wall before collapsing against it... As she lay on the floor, she stared at the beams, their patterns stirring memories and lulling her to sleep... When she awoke, Siren had a massive headache? She staggered up and turned off the beams and stepped out of the room, eyes blurry and hair on end? She moved into her rooms and fell asleep the minute she hit the surface?

Niomi: I don't know but we better do something quick. I don't even know if he's armed.

Rae: you didn't check?

Niomi: didn't have time, but i'm going back for my coat.

Niomi grabed Raes gun and fired a few shots, while running back to the basketball court, around her brother to make sure he stays there and throws the gun back.

Niomi: Don't get near him Rae! And keep the others back.

Rae: What!

Niomi ran as fast as posible and grabed her coat. She searched it and found her gun and a dart with a pit of sleeping juice on it.

Liam glanced down at his watch, ?Ok, it?s eleven fifty-seven. The thing that most disturbs me is the fact we stood here for nigh on thirty minutes without getting bored.? He laughed, ?We?ve been doing this for way too long Craig. C'mon, lets get to the briefing room.?

The commander met them at the door, obviously annoyed about something. Liam ignored the stern look and entered the empty room, taking his usual seat in the corner, Craig following suit and taking his seat in the opposite corner.

The commander looked at his watch, two past twelve. He sighed and was about to close the door when Adam hurried through, carrying a large covered box. He plonked it down on the table next to the large black speakerphone. The commander closed the door and spoke,

?Well the briefing has started, even if they?re not here, the speaker phone in the centre of the table will relay this conference to their headsets all over the compound. Allowing them to be here, even though they...ah...aren?t.?

Liam rolled his eyes. The commander was never good at words. When the commander had taken his seat, Adam took control and started unpacking the box before him, pausing only to make sure the speakerphone was working. Liam?s interest was caught slightly when Adam pulled out two black objects, and slid them across the large table to Craig and he.

Liam snatched it up, investigating what appeared to be a small mobile phone, Nokia to be exact...Liam tapped the small camera in the centre and turned it on, exploring the GPS system and camera function. Liam let out a low whistle, ?Nice Adam, for once you?ve brought something that caught my interest, now let?s see if you can hold it.?

Adam gave a small smile and brought up the GPS image on the lightpro, pointing out several remote places on it. Liam read them out under his breath, ?Borneo, Columbia, Zambia, the Sahara... the Sahara? Why the hell are we going there??
Adam smirked, ?Because there?s rumoured to be a terrorist base somewhere inside of it. And guess what? It?s your first port of call.?

?Riiiight...?

Adam glanced at her, annoyed... She gave him a blunt look then turned to the commander...

Rae screamed as something in her ear squealed. ****! Her headset. Seh had it turned to a special program so that it could be turned off, but as soon as someone wqanted to cantact her, it would grab her attention. This was not the way she planned. Too late she realised that she'd moved her gun in the process. She quickly fired another warning shot.

Hearing running footsteps behind her, Rae shuddered and quickly looked back. "Iitashi."

He smiled at her. "Yup."

"Its about time you got here...to the briefing that is. Speaking of which..." Rae fiddled with her headset turing the speaker on, confident that Iitashi would cover her until she was finished. "Adam," she said, recognising Adam's voice on the speaker. "Adam, can you wait. Me, Iitashi and Niomi should be there in say, ten minutes...we're a bit caught up right now." Knowing that Liam and Craig would have been there in the first seconds, she spoke to them. Anytime it was on the headset, they'd hear it too. "Don't you say a word, guys. Hold up. You've probably been standing at the conference room door doing nothing for the past half an hour; doing nothing won't kill you. Besides, by now, Adam has probably unloaded some pretty toys. Go play with those." She rang off.

Niomi: (mumbles) i'll see you later big brother.

She fires the dart and hits him in the vein of his arm. She singnaled not to shot anymore.

Chris: Niomi! I'll...get...you.....

Rae grinned wickedly as Niomi's brother's eyes rolled up into the back of his head, and he dropped like a 467 kilogrammed camera on a hot summers day.

"Niomi", she called as she walked up to her, "I want some of that stuff. I like it."

Niomi smiled. "So do I."

Rae turned on her headset again, looking around. They were near the basketball courts, the black pitch type she hated. On one side were green grounds, trees dotting them occasionally. On the other were and dry patch where the sprinklers hadn't been for a while. Probably a few days. The heat wasn't that intense. "Niomi," Rae started. "Do you know the gardener?"

"Nope. I don't usually come here."

"What about you, Iitashi?"

He shook his head mutely.

Rae bit her lip. "Okay. What do we do with him?" She asked, nodding towards Niomi's brother. She didn't wait for an answer, letting Niomi decide. Turning on her headset, she muttered into it. "We'll be there soon, Adam. By the way, do you know the gardener?"

"Yeah," he replied. "Nice guy. Name's Kieran Harnett. The poor bloke had to leave to go to his wife. She's got cancer."

Rae swallowed a snort hearing Adam say bloke. She could hear Craig laughing in the background. "Okay. I was just wondering. Won't be long."

Ryan sat in the briefing room, his arms folded across his chest in a clear expression of annoyance.

One of his pet peeves was being late. He was always early for everything. He despised being late, it was very annoying to have to wait for someone else.

Ryan watched Adam talking on his headset to Rae. He knew Rae wasn't the type to be late, so whatever they were doing had to be important. But what in the world could possible be more important than their mission? He grinned and pulled his Palm Pilot out of his pocket and wrote down a reminder for himself to ask Niomi when he got a chance.

When he was done writing he stood up and walked to the back of the room and took a platter of salami sandwiches from the table at the back of the room. One of the cooks shot him an angry look; no doubt it was because he had taken the whole tray. Ryan grinned and patted his holster.

When he had sat down again and was halfway through eating the sandwiches Rae and Niomi walked in...

Adam regained the group?s attention by throwing to each of them small different shaped black cubes. They all knew what they were, laser sights, all of them specifically made for their type of pistol. Liam caught his with distaste, pegging it back at Adam. It bounced off his forehead and landed in the box it came from. Adam rubbed the red spot and asked angrily, ?What the hell was that for??

Liam was quiet, dangerously quiet, ?It was an answer to that insult you just threw at me. You of all people should know my files. Marksmanship, I?ve set the best record out of the entire academy, it still stands and is still beating everyone else! To give me a laser sight is just an insult to me, and you should know it.?

Adam rubbed his head again, annoyance in his voice, ?Aight, aight, no laser sight for Liam, point taken. Back to the mission...?

The image of the Sahara enlarged until it filled the entire wall. Adam began a frenzy of movement, highlighting several strategic locations, totally pointless and useless to the overall mission. Liam yawned pointedly, and the commander motioned for Adam to wrap it up.

?Well as you can see, the Hercules aircraft will fly over here,? he pointed, ?it will drop two Hummers here, and you lot will jump out behind them. Then you?ll split into two groups. One will verify the location of the base, the other will try and find the missing squad, and if they find them alive, we?ll call in a chopper to pick ?em up. Then, the rescue team will meet up with the rest and torch the base, salvaging any files or evidence they can. After that you?ll all be picked up and taken to the next location.?

Niomi sighed, ?Whatever, what about the teams? How are they divided up??

Adam cleared his throat and continued, ?Well the commander and I have thought long and hard and decided that you?ll all decide for yourselves which team you?ll be on, except for Liam, we don?t want him to go and blow up the base before you salvage anything.? Adam chuckled, Liam merely pouted, knuckles drumming a tattoo on his Desert Eagle.

The commander stood and dismissed them, giving them orders that both teams should be divided evenly, and decided in an hour. Then, if they hadn?t decided, it would be decided for them and they would be put on the first plane out of there.

She was going to kill Adam. Rae hated these sorts of choices. They were, to say the least, annoying. She much preferred if she was told where to go. Then she mightn't like it, but at least she wouldn't have to choose. Borrowing a piece of paper from Adam, pinching him in the process, she wrote on opposite sides ?Base,? and ?Squad?. Drumming her fingers, she considered the best way to go about choosing.

Chewing her lip, Rae considered. The best way, of course, would be to assess the pros and cons of each. To logically state all the reasons why she should go. To?

Sighing, Rae stalked over to Adam, kicked him in the shin, and stalked back to her chair. He raised his eyebrow, and she glared at him. Turning away from her, Adam started to fiddle with other gadgets.

She turned to Siren, folding the paper idly in her hands. ?How should I choose??

Siren shrugged. ?You got any personal grudges??

?Nope.?

?Then you should do it logically.? Siren winked and turned back around.

Rae nodded thoughtfully. Logical. Right she could do that. She?d already thought of logical?okay. Logical it was.

Going back to her piece of paper, Rae unfolded it and looked at it. ?Right,? she said. ?Logical. Eeni, Meeni, Mini, Mot, catch a gang; entire lot, if they squeals let them rot, Eeni, Meeni, Mini, Mot.? She stared at the end result. ?Okay, so I?m going to find the Squad.?

She again walked over to Adam, who flinched back. She smirked. ?I?m going to find the squad.? He nodded, still not looking at her.

Great, Rae thought as she ambled over to prop up the wall. Now I?ve got that in my head. Eeni, Meeni, Mini, Mot?

OOC: The sad thing is, I actually used the Eeni Meeni Mini Mot thing...ah well...
