?You arrogant...self centred...bastard! You have no bloody idea what you?re talking about, do you??

Liam was slightly affronted, but he let the comment roll off him.

?God, so bloody high and mighty, I?m first, look at me look at me!? Siren did a little sarcastic jig, waving her arms in the air.

?I think the arm waving thing is a little bit of an exaggeration...?

Siren placed her pistol directly between Liam?s eyes, the end of the barrel quivered, just slightly. Siren?s breathing was slow and steady, ?You would wouldn?t you? Liam, go to hell. You heard me, go to hell and roast with that bìtch of a sister you have, and leave me the ***** alone.?

Liam blinked and prodded the gun to the side, the hair trigger released a round, which ricocheted off the walls. The empty casing flicked onto his cheek, causing a small burn to appear. Liam didn?t blink, mind still formulating over what had been said. Under layers of mental blocks and emotional barriers, something gave and dark memories of close calls and mistakes flooded back into his mind. Siren lowered the gun and looked away, tears pricking at the corner of her eyes. Liam didn?t notice, his mind was elsewhere...

~~~
?Recruit! Stand up straight! This is a live combat situation, do not flinch or remove your face from enemy sight! Do you here me??
The twelve year old Liam didn?t reply, but instead nodded and raised the bulky rifle in his arms. The twelve year old Jess beside him followed suit and they ran through the dark jungle. Tracer fire lit up the trees around them while sounds of explosions and automatic fire pounded their ears and minds. Jess and Liam came to clearing where they slowed their pace, exhausted and out of breath. Liam grinned and closed his eyes, leaning back against the tree, then he noticed the trip wire in the corner of his eye. His mouth opened to shout a warning, to scream, to do something, but nothing came. Nothing but the roar of an explosion and the blinding whiteness...
Army Hospital, 5 hours after the explosion
?First mission and they hit that sleeper, they?re lucky to be alive, it was a fragmentation one to boot. Smokestack didn?t make it though...he was the one that set it off...?
Twelve year old Liam prised his aching eyes open, everything was extremely blurry and no amount of blinking seemed to make it go away. He glanced in the direction of the voices, what seemed to be two doctors in white coats.
?Hey up, he?s awake. Might want to break the bad news to him...?
?Don?t tell me about it...?
Liam opened a dry mouth to ask what had happened, but found it bandaged shut, his entire head had been bandaged and he could feel his arms and legs were too.
The blurry doctor sat on the end of the bed, ?Hey mate...look...I?ve got some bad news...that explosion did some serious damage to you, your sis is fine, no need to ask, she was out of range. But...you however...we believe the flash may have done some serious damage to your eyes...am I correct?? Liam forced a stiff nod, ?Ok then...well put these on, they aren?t prescription, but they?ll do until we get you to an optometrist.?
The doctor leant forward and placed the glasses on his face, everything seemed to jump back into place, but the doctor still had a furry outline.
?Better?? Liam forced another nod. ?Good. Ok we?re going to have to keep you in bed and do a few more operations to remove those shards from your stomach and lower back, not to mention skin grafts and a small amount of plastic surgery to fix the third degree burns...? The doctors voice seemed to falter and the other one took over.
?You?re lucky mate,? he said, ?that was a pretty close call, if you?d been in Major Pine?s position then, you?d be pushing up daisies right now. He received the full blast of the explosion I?m afraid. The funeral is tomorrow but you will not be able to attend due to your present condition.?
There were footsteps and a youngish Jess walked to the end of the bed, looking more than upset when she came close to him. The two doctors got up and took their leave and she took the seat beside the bed.
~~~~~~

Liam snapped out of the trance when a rather painful shock hit him. He?d stayed still long enough for the moving beams to catch up with him, the pain caused hit to fall to all fours before he lost consciousness.

Iitashi opened the letter that had just been handed to him, it had no return address. The letter read:

Dear son, it's strange calling you son, I wanted to let you know that I am out early from my "home away from home" and that I'll be coming to see you. We will have a nice family reunion.

P.S. make sure your S.Y.F. friends stay out of it.

Iitashi stashed away the letter, he would talk to the commander later

Siren whips around, alerted by the smell of burning flesh and the soft thump of Liams body hitting the floor... She cursed vibrantly and dodged the beams expertly, racing to his side... She slides the last four feet, slamming into him and rolling to the far side of the room... She pushed herself to her feet and looked at him carefully...

Siren(thinking): Why didn't I just let him die? I'm becoming soft again...

She walked over to him and crouched, examining his burns gently... Her eyes close and she remembers...

~*Flashback*~

Siren tenderly peeled back the bandage reveling the burn on her foster fathers hand...

Siren: It'll be alright soon... Just don't use it too much...

~*Scene fades and gunshots sound*~

Siren ducks behind a tent and watches as the men capture her father and friends...

~*Scene fades and a long howeling scream is heard*~

Siren drops her guns and takes the dead mans, loading it and slinging the other guns onto her shoulders... She walks through the halls, shooting men, women and childeren... Agonizied screams of pain echo behind her... She shoots a fleeing woman and she falls her child tumbling falling from her arms... Siren came to the baby and looked at it, the cold fires of hatred shineing brightly from her eyes... She shot the squalling infant between the eyes... Crimson blood stained the walls and floor... Siren stepped over the bodys and entered the council chambers... The prisoners stood to one side of the room as the men stared at her as the doors slammed open... She fired wildly, killing almost everyone in the room... Siren walkes over to the last moving body... That of her foster father... Blinded by pain and rage, everyone was the enemy... Siren twisted her fingers into his hair yanking his head back... His eyes widened and he coughed blood...

Father: Wh...*cough* Why... Ari... Ariana...

Siren: Die you bastard... Ariana is dead...

She drew his knife and slit her fathers throat in a spray of blood... She stood and exited the building and wandered the desert for three days, not stoping for anything... Finally, at the top of a dune, she passed out... She awoke in the hospital three months later after being in a coma... The horrible realization hit her and she broke down sobbing...

~*Scene fades and present returns*~

She opened her eyes and a tear fell down her cheek... She glanced at liam and realised that he was awake, if groggy, and staring at her... Her face hardened and she drew back her fist... Liam, as if knowing what Siren was about to do, closed his eyes... Her fist connected with his chin, puting him down...

OOC: I know that Liam will kill me if I haven't posted since he went away, so I'm posting now.

_______

Thankfully, the fire had been contained. However, Adam's temper wasn't. Rae sat through at least an hour's scolding in silence, then her nerves got the better of her, starting to twitch and cramp. Rae sighed, stretching her muscles, and Adam, who'd been pacing, whirled around to face her, his expression dire. "Rae, you put us in danger. What would have happened if...if someone wanted to break in while your confusion had taken everyone form their posts?"

"Adam, nothing happened. Get over it."

He sighed irritably, his features hardening. "Go."

She snorted and rolled her eyes, leaving quickly. "Well, that was fun," she remarked to Craig as she left. "I think an inquisition would be more fun."

OOC: you'd be right there, lol
---

Liam remained in somewhat undignified unconsciousness, a small stream of blood trickled from his nose, resting comfortably on his lips while his mind raced over more of the past.

~~~~~
?Liam...are you...y?know...ok?? Jessie?s face harboured worry. Liam twisted his pain inflicted thumbs into a big thumbs up and tried to curl his bandaged face into a smile. Jess gave a small laugh and she looked at her lap, knitting her fingers.
?Mum and Dad are still on their mission in New York...Columbian drug lord ring trading and all that, you know...the usual.? Her countenance was brightening slowly, eyes now shining. ?We won?t be able to contact them until they contact us, but by then the surgery will be done and you?ll be all better and that.?
Liam tried to smile again and Jess returned his pained expression with a grin warm enough to melt a block of ice. She was always good at that...people relations, social relations...boyfriends, even though they didn?t last long, she was never able to get really close to anyone, her secrets were too dark to share with anyone but her family and her job.
Liam slid up in his bed when he saw the surgeon and some attendants walk over, apparently it was time for the procedure. Jess clasped his hand in hers before saying a jovial ?See you on the other side!?
The trolley rolled into the theatre and he felt the mask being pressed onto his face, and everything slipping away from him...
~~~~

Rae slapped Liam gently on the side of the face, trying to snap him out of his semi-comatose state. ?Liam ya bum, wake up!? she said, turning to face Jaudiar, ?Well when Siren knocks ?em out, they don?t get back up again any time soon do they??

Jaudiar glanced over at the laser training room, ?Being hit by a few thousand volts doesn?t help either. Here. Let me have ago.?

Jaudiar raised Liam slightly up off the ground and raised her hand back for a hefty wack. But before she landed it, she turned to Rae with an evil grin on her face and said, ?I?ve been waiting nigh on a year and a half to do this.? She landed the blow and Liam?s cheek rapidly reddened and the shock caused his arms to flop awkwardly to the side.

?You know you?re going to probably put him into a coma if you do that again.? Rae said, heavy on the sarcasm.

?Don?t go and get my hopes up now.? Siren said from her corner on the other side of the room. ?I think he?d do everyone a favour by staying as cute and charming as he is now.?

Rae glanced at Siren, ?What? Unconscious??

Siren didn?t reply but merely grinned.

Andrew wandered in with the fire extinguisher and investigated what was happening in the corner.

?Bah, stupid thing flared up again.? He peered down at Liam, intrigued. ?So who was the one that finally managed to shut him up??

Jaudiar chuckled, ?Siren deserves the credit for that.?

Andrew turned to Siren in the corner and tipped an invisible hat, ?I tip my hat to you madam...but I suppose we should wake the bastärd up...?

?How?? came the reply.
Andrew?s eyes gleamed and he raised the extinguisher. ?This is how. Mind you he?s not going to like it, but the coldness of the powder should shock his system into waking up, then we?ll take him into the infirmary to check out the burns, not to mention to find out how many brain cells he lost in that little exercise.?

?Shut up and do it already Andrew.?

?Alright, alright.?

Andrew hefted the extinguisher up, directing the horn at Liam and squeezing the trigger. An instant later Liam was coated in a freezing cold powder, causing him to bolt upright with a heavily laboured breath.

?Welcome back. Did you enjoy your trip? I know we did.? Rae grinned and hooked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. Liam didn?t respond but instead got to his feet and let the powder fall to the floor in sheets. He dusted himself off and walked away, angrily ripping off his Desert Eagle and pelting it at the mirrored wall on the side of the gym. The gun and holster whirled through the air before colliding with the wall with a loud crash. The mirror cracked instantly and fell into pieces on the floor. The pistol lay quivering slightly on the wooden floor as Liam left the room without faltering.

All in the room were shocked into a silence. Not a word was spoken until the gun had stopped moving, and the last shard of glass had fallen.

Jaudiar glanced down at Rae, ?Does he do this often? I mean, last time we met I don?t remember him doing anything like that...?

Rae glanced back, lips curling slightly, ?Well no...he hasn?t thrown any guns recently...especially that one...but I was there when he threw his student counsellor out threw the plate glass window.?

?I see...?

?Wonder what the hell it?s all about...?

Rae went and sat down next to Liam, a sense of Deje vu coming over her. Liam didn't acknowledge her prescence at all, just staring at the opposite wall. "It..." Rae started, then stopped. "It's been a while since you've done that.I figure that you aren't going to tell me about it, so I'm not going to ask and act all shrink like. But everyone has **** in their life, Liam. And, hey, we know what bad means. We're all stuck in the same loop, the same line of work. I'm pretty sure most of us wake up crying from memories, or dreams. I've done that." With that, she turned and walked back to Jaudiar.

"So?"

"So...he's Liam. He's what I used to be. Probably what I still am. Emotions are weakness, and all that. He'll be fine eventually."

"Yeah."

"Hey, do you know why we're atill here? Usually after a mission we go straight back to base, but we're still waiting here."

Siren, who'd come up behind them, raised an eyebrow, then nodded. "That's right, Rae. You and Niomi were busy when we were briefed. Basically, we aren't finished yet. We've got several more places to go to."

"Oh...like?"

"I'm not sure. I can't remember."

Jaudiar smiled. "Helpful."

"Certainly."

They all grinned. "Its good to have you back, Siren."

Liam?s eyes narrowed as he gazed at the wall opposite. This whole thing was pointless, by the time they investigated the location of the other bases, the terrorist?s would have had enough warning and time to booby trap the lot of them. He sighed and sunk down in his seat. It was about time he started taking his own medicine. He stood to leave and retrieve his Eagle, but found it seated beside him. He gave a small smile and slung it around his shoulders.

?Fine. Let?s git this **** over with.?

He marched past the shattered gym and through to the dorms. He walked up the staircase to his room and closed the door behind him before changing into something more stealthy...the black leather punctured coat was back. He slipped out of his room and clinked over to the briefing area. Adam walked in a few minutes later to prepare for the next briefing. He seemed surprised however when he saw Liam there waiting,

?Er, aren?t you in the infirmary? And what happened to the jacket??

?Long story.?

?Right.? Adam rolled his eyes and emptied the contents of his box onto the table. He rang up the intercom and issued a general command for all the agents to enter for their next briefing.

The Commander stood and motioned for the agents to settle down.

?Yes, yes. Quiet! Now I know all of you are excited about the completion of your first mission,? He ignored Liam?s derisive snort of laughter, ?But we are eager to send you on your next mission. As the Cambodian base has already been eliminated, and the problem stationed there resolved...we can now move you onto the next mission. Adam, would you take over??

The Commander sat back down as Adam stood up and fired up the lightpro. A 3D rendered map of Colombia filled the screen and zoomed in on jungle, north of the Caquetá river.
?As you can see here we?re sending you to the steamy Colombian jungle, rumoured by the locals as the location of a rebel base, known to the SYF as the site of a massive hidden espionage training complex.? Adam paused to take a breath, ?Rumours from the locals include that all tourist groups, merchants or every man and his dog travelling in that specific area have vanished off the face of the planet. This was only brought to the bureau's attention through the effort?s of senior agents 4298 and 2549. They were on the trail of a weapon?s dealer when they came across this shady section of the jungle. They came under massive fire and only escaped by the skin of their teeth. Since then, this area has been a hot spot that even the Colombian military do not investigate for fear of their lives.?

Liam narrowed his eyes, clicking over his mind at the two number?s mentioned...they seemed awfully familiar yet unknown at the same time. 4298 and 2549. As all agent numbers in the senior espionage were randomly generated, unlike his LC01 and Jessie?s JC02, he wouldn?t be able to determine their age on the spot. His mind trawled through memories of important numbers...his first PIN number...no...library card number...definitely not...4298 and 2549, they must have been a couple team. He almost groaned in exasperation, the problem with suppressing memories was that you accidentally forgot important things. He glanced around the room and noticed that Rae shot a quick glance at him when Adam mentioned the two agent?s again.

Something clicked, 4298 and 2549 were his parent?s personnel identification numbers. He almost slapped himself for forgetting it. So...he was yet again going to be stalking the ghost of his family. If he had a normal bone in his body he would have flinched at the thought of it. But as he didn?t, he turned his ears back to Adam who was just wrapping up.

?This is going to be a night mission; we have found out through the files that you stole previously that a highly ranked drug lord by the name of Pizano Baudez is to be attending an ?engagement party? there. This of course was a front to put the FBI off the trail, but we found out that Pizano is also in the Nuclear arms business, and is only too happy to sell to the terrorist splinter.? Adam changed the lightpro image to one of Pizano Baudez. ?That?s him. You guys have got to get in, kidnap him, steal the files, get out and bring it all to the rendezvous point here,? Adam used a laser pointer to highlight the locale on the map. ?There you will be picked up as soon as you hit your personal signal beacon. You?re going to be split up again, but this time into three groups of three. The first will be abseiling down from the blackhawks here for a surprise attack to distract the heavily armed guards. While they are doing the distracting, team two will go in and capture Pizano by any means necessary. Team three will be doing the file and computer hacking, not to mention to scope out any of these prisoners.?

The screen was filled with no less than ten mug shots. Five were from the Navy seals, distinguishable by their uniforms, the others were however dressed in civvies. Liam assumed that they must be agents or some hostages taken recently.

?That?s it. All done, sign up into your preferred group and meet outside in stealth gear, armed and ready to be driven by APC to the airport in one hour. Time is of the essence.?

The agent?s swarmed around the form that Adam placed on the bench, Liam got in first and marked his name under the kidnapping team two before leaving and walking to his dorm room. He marched up his stairs and opened a hidden gun cabinet, retrieving a submachine gun from it?s rack. He slid the fifty round cartridge in and armed it before slipping it into it?s custom holster, nestled in front of his Kevlar vest. He slid more magazines into various pockets of his jacket, all were emblazoned with the ?Metal Storm? insignia. He grinned, familiar feeling of adrenaline seeping into his mind. Firing capacity of one round every five hundredth of a second, thumbprint scan, the works. As far as the general public and Guinness World records knew, Metal Storm had only manufactured one custom pistol with the same specifications and a couple custom artillery cannons with capacity of three thousand rounds a second. Only the Government and the Metal Storm technicians knew of the MS1, and a certain agent by the name of Liam...he smirked again. Rae was right, how could he ever give up all of this? He made a mental note to thank her and apologise some time...well...maybe thank her...sometime...next year...maybe...

Ryan quickly wrote down his name under team one, and walked out of the conference room and down the hall towards his room.

He had spent almost all of the last few days at the shooting range, pumping round after round of high velocity bullets into moving paper targets. Adam hadn't been happy when he had requested another thousand bullets as replacements and had given him a long speech about "tax payer dollars" before giving him the ammo. What did he care, after all he didn't pay taxes...

Ryan reached his room and dressed in black sweatpants and a black T-shirt. Over the T-shirt he put on a Kevlar vest, which was adorned with at least twenty small dents. He then put on his ammo belt, which contained his spare clips and tucked his pistol into it.

Once he was ready to go he checked his watch, to find he had ten minutes to report to the Armored Personnel Carrier which was presumably parked out front.

He walked out of his quarters, and locked his door behind him before heading down the long hallway. When he was almost at the end he was joined by Craig and Liam who had just finished preparing for the mission. Ryan noticed an interesting submachine gun nestled in Liam's holster, he didn't recognize it, and it looked like a very, very good custom job. He would have to ask Liam about that later...

They left the building and had just sat down in their metal seats inside the personnel carrier when Rae, Siren and Jaudiar walked in, each armed to the teeth.

Ryan: "You ladies are looking dangerous today..."

Siren: "I'm going to get even more dangerous if you don't shut up."

Ryan: "Fine, fine..."

When everyone was seated the APC began its slow drive towards the airport, and the first step of their mission...

Siren had signed up for team two... She needed to blow some steam... But getting reckless would jeopardize the mission and she wasn?t the best in a firefight... She preferred hit and run or one on one tactics... She had packed a minimal of necessities wondering faintly if they would get stranded in the jungle... She smirked... Not her element... But it was good enough... She pulled out Ann Rice?s Interview with the Vampire and tucked her feet underneath her... If Rae started talking it would be a long trip and they weren?t even on the plane yet... As if on cue, Rae started up a conversation with Jaudiar about the conditioned of the last mission and how she hoped that she wouldn?t have to wear the same clothes for that long ever again... Siren abruptly stood, walked over to Ryan and yanked off his boot... She pulled off his sock before he could object and winked at him... She turned, stalked down and stuffed the sock into Raes mouth... Siren held it there for a moment...

Siren: No hard feelings dear... But if you don't get the hint...

She trailed off, waving a roll of duck tape in her face... Jaudiar's smothered laughter brought a smirk to Sirens face as she returned to her seat...

Ryan: ... Whadda bout my sock?

Rae had signed up for the third group; Computor hacking. It wasn't as action packed, but she preferred it. Pulling the sock out of her mouth, she coughed. "Fine, I get the picture. Ugh," she muttered. "He needs some powder, those sock stink!"
Siren glared at her. "Okay, okay. I'll shut up."

As they reached the airport, Rae climbed out first, unusually silent. In fact, she hadn't talked the rest of the way, true to her word. Jaudiar glanced at her, worried. Perhaps she'd taken Siren's words harshly? Rae, knowing what Jaudiar was thinking, smiled and shook her head.

She wasn't unhappy, just vaugely apprehensive. Her head spun a little bit, and she had a headache. Rubbing her eyes, she pulled out some Advil Jaudiar had given her, gulping them down. However, she still didn't feel like talking. Sitting down on the pavement, she dropped her head in her hands and closed her eyes.

Liam wandered ahead to the airstrip and glanced up at the aircraft immobile before them. A twenty passenger civilian QANTAS jet. How very quaint. They must be taking the guise of tourists or something to not arouse suspicion. He chuckled, well whoever thought this plan out didn?t notice the fact that they were all packing proficient first world weaponry and wearing military grade clothing. But, he reasoned, it did pose a very good front, at least to a light inspection.

The door hissed shut as all the agents settled down into their over stuffed plush seats. Liam smirked, maybe this aircraft did have a few perks. As he glanced around the craft, he noticed Ryan looking intently at the MS1. Liam grinned and pulled it out of it?s holster and handed it over to Ryan.

Ryan checked the weapon, weight, sights, magazine all before he spoke, ?Got a bit of weight to it. very well balanced too. But I don?t know the make...and what?s with the insignia??

Liam grinned, ?It?s a Metal Storm, one of twenty manufactured specifically for the government. No-one knows about them. It took me months to get the application for it, let alone apply. I?m the only junior member to have one, all the rest were given to the untouchables and untraceables in the senior wing. Has a firing capacity of one round every five hundredth of a second, totally manufactured out of a compound metal that deters any form of overheating so I can plug away for hours...?

Ryan?s eyes bugged out. ?You do realise I?m not going to give this back.?

?It wouldn?t do you any good. Thumbprint scan above the trigger, I?m the only person on the planet who?s able to use it, and if you try to bypass it or tinker with it in any way, the whole thing will blow up in your face.?

Ryan?s eyes bugged out, ?You mean your heat is packing...heat??

?Yup, I can?t quite remember if it?s C4 or Semtex though...?

Ryan hastily handed the MS1 back to Liam. Liam holstered it and leant back in his chair, grinning to himself.

Ryan: "Does Metal Storm manufacture any other kinds of weapons besides submachine guns?"

Liam: "Yeah, I think so. I haven't actually seen one, and don't have a clearance even close to the point where I would be able to request info on other models, but I have heard rumors..."

Ryan: "What kind of rumors? Not that I'd give up my sniper rifle for anything other than another, better sniper rifle."

Liam: "I don't think they make sniper rifles, although there's always a possibility."

Ryan nods, and then opens his backpack to reveal several boxes of ammo, some rations, a medic kit and a laptop. He pulls out the laptop and begins to access the SYF files on Pizano Baudez. He found a short biography, a record of known business deals and various related news articles.

None of the information looked interesting, except for a picture of Baudez surrounded by female bodyguards. The women were very pretty, but that wasn't the important part. They were armed with top of the line, government custom issue machine guns. The guns were more powerful than the ones used by most armies, but scaled down and with extra recoil dampening devices. The guns looked identical to standard SYF issue weapons.

Ryan checks the image against the SYF database, and comes up with a perfect match.

Ryan: "Liam, look at this..."

Liam gets up and looks at Ryan's laptop.

Liam: "How in the world did they get those!?!"

Ryan: "Liam, I have a theory, but you might not like it. Could it have been possible that your sister had something to do with this?"

Rae sat back and closed her eyes. The plane had finally taken off a few minutes ago, Liam , for some reason, looking absolutely livid. Something was wrong. Again. She groaned uphappily. Her headache was coming back. Again.

Deciding that she'd read the book she'd been trying to finish for the past month, Rae pulled out a copy of "The Dance Between Evil", and opened to her page, getting lost in the book. She had twenty more pages to go. That was all.

Almost twenty minutes later, Rae snorted in disgust and dropped the book. "That," she groaned, "was predictible!"

"What was?" asked Liam, who'd calmed down.

"The ending. Good defeated bad. Again. Why does that always happen in stories? I mean, lets face it. Predictibilityis the one thing you can rely on. I would have structured it so that it twists more, like giving it to the third party...the evil guys. Ugh...its sort of hard to explain. Never mind. I'm just ranting."

His lip quirked. "I hadn't noticed."

Liam: "Maybe, the terrorist group with which she was involved was reported to make much of its money through arms deals."

Ryan: "Is there any way we can use this to our advantage? Any way to disable or destroy SYF weapons remotely?"

Liam: "I doubt it, but it is possible some of the higher ups have something like that. I'll call Adam."

Liam walks off towards the phone, and Ryan saves the information on his laptop, before closing it and stowing it away in his backpack.

He checks his watch, and suddenly realizes how late it is. He pulls a blanket from under his seat, and wraps it around himself. He is soon fast asleep.

Dreaming...
He's falling... Faster and faster, he sees things flash by, pictures of his brother. His brother is screaming and shooting at something in the darkness. Ryan grins, he hated his brother...

Suddenly he sees someone step out of the shadows and shoot his brother. His brother falls to the ground and Ryan walks over to him. But his brother's face isn't his brothers, it's his...

Ryan screams, then wakes up...

Liam wandered out of sight and sat up at the front of the plane. Bah, why should he call Adam? The weapons were SYF, what of it? Just another clue of Jessie?s treachery. He sighed and started drumming out a song on the handle of his MS1.

Ten minutes later Ryan was asleep so Liam ambled back and sat next to the slightly dozing Rae. She snapped out of her slumber the instant he sat down, he didn?t say a word. Rae rolled her eyes and leant against the window, and began to close her eyes when Ryan snapped awake, scream rushing from his pursed lips.

Liam didn?t flinch or lift his gaze from the computer, instead he continued reading the screen and used his free hand to wiggle around in the slightly ringing ear. Ryan?s gaze rushed around the cockpit, the other agents were waking and looking around for the cause of the scream. Ryan settled back in his seat again and acted as though asleep.

Liam closed his laptop, slipping it into the pouch in front of him. He stretched, yawned and leaned back, hands behind his head and sunglasses down.

~~~~~
LOCAL AIRSTRIP: SANDVIKA
The small QANTAS jet touched down on the dusty bitumen, tires screeching as it tried to gain grip on the poorly created runway. All the agents in the plane slid forward in their seats, despite the tightly strapped belts around their waists.
Liam raised his sunglasses to see what was going on. Seeing they had arrived, he stretched and rose up from his seat, making his way the exit. As he stepped down the aluminium stairs, the warm tropical sun glinted off his shades. He grinned and walked to the cargo bay, hefting up his pack and supplies.
?So when do we get to go to our tropical paradise??
Each member of the team removes their supplies from the cargo area and then the group piles into a hummer that has been painted in jungle camouflage.
Ryan sat in the back, his rifle against his shoulder in firing position. He looks through his scope, searching the dense foliage on the left side of the road for movement. Only birds and monkeys so far...
They reached the end of the dirt road, and parked the hummer in a ditch and covered it in a camouflage tarp.
Liam: "Teams tow and three lets go, the complex is only 3Km north of here. Oh, and team one will stay here and wait for the choppers to arrive. We will be positioned around the base, and team one will show up right after dark and provide the distraction."
Ryan: "Ok sounds good to me."
Ryan, Craig and Itashi watch the other two groups disappear into the jungle. They were going to have possibly the most dangerous job in the whole mission. Every gun in the entire complex would be aimed at them, while the other two teams stormed the base.
But the worst part would be the waiting for the choppers to arrive...
OOC:You guys have posted twice in the time I've been away? Shame on you...anyone seen Raiha, Tursi, SS Trunks...well, everyone but Liam, me and Boba Fett?Where are you guys???
IC: Rae looked around at the group tramping around. She was carrying all sorts of wonderful magic computor technology. Leads and laptops, codes and cords. Everyone was quiet, silent, yet still managing to convey the fun that was almost always present.
After five kilometres, the team gathered around. "Right," Rae said, sounding so business like that the others broke into grins. "I think we should sort out the groups now, or I'm going to end up going with the wrong side. I know Liam is in the second group, and I'm in the third. I know Siren is in the second team. So where are you guys?" She looked at Jaudiar and Niomi in turn.
However, before they could speak, a startled cry was heard, then a mumbled curse. Rae whipped round with the others, relaxing, even laughing when they found Liam on the ground. He'd managed to fall over without moving.
OOC: Smoldering in the dark corners of my mind, clawing at the invisible walls of my pain induced prison... I've recently given up and even now as the dispair begins to claw at my soul, I have contracted the much feared disease of the role players... *dun, dun, dun* Writers Block... Sorry... >.< I'm trying to excercise my mind but it's sticking to three things (guitar lessons, dish washing and gfx) and I can't really think of anything... What I just posted was probably the most creative thing I've done in the last week... So as soon as my brain thaws I'll try to make up for it...
Liam stood up and brushed himself down, yawning. He looked around at the laughing faces and shrugged,
?What? I?m very, very tired.?
Another titter ran through the agents before they face Rae again. Liam unholstered the MS1and slipped his thumb onto the print scan. A small tingle notified him that his print had been accepted. There was an automated click and the weapon armed. Liam amused himself through Rae?s speech by performing several left and right hand spins with the MS1.
When she was finished and everyone had mentioned their task force, Liam began a steady pace, breaking off from the third group after a while he started jogging with Siren and Niomi close on his heels. Even though it was late in the evening, the air was still humid enough to cause his shirt to stick to his back. Some where in the distance behind them there was the faint beat of a Blackhawk landing. A shiver ran up his spine. For a split second something gripped his mind...fear...that feeling hadn?t occurred since his first mission...and he ended up in intensive care for three months.
He started to slow his pace, footsteps deadened by the foliage. As Siren and Niomi drew up along side, he pulled out his mobile phone and brought up the GPS. They were situated at exactly one klick from the villa. He sat down on a fallen log. All they had to do now was to wait for the choppers to fly over and create a full-blown diversion. Then Rae and her team would pounce on the other side of the villa and take out the communications array, and do what all good hackers do.
Then, once Pizaro was out in the open with his bodyguards, Liam would see to it that all hell would break loose.
Liam slipped off his long jacket and leant back in his rudimentary seat. The black sleeveless shirt he was wearing continued to persist in sticking to his back. That, and the Kevlar vest, were causing him to roast in the humid air. He leant forward and watched the night?s events unfold through a pair of night vision binoculars.
Ryan lay prone on the floor of the Blackhawk's troop bay, his sniper rifle aimed at the ground below.
Itashi was next to him, and Craig was in the gunner's seat, ready to unload some heavy firepower into the villa.
They flew over the position where Liam was supposed to be, and barely half a minute later they were over the villa.
Craig opened up with the heavy machine guns, destroying all four of the anti aircraft guns in rapid succession. Then came the troops. Twenty men armed to the teeth poured from the villa, each one firing at the Blackhawk with automatic weapons.
Ryan and Itashi took out the officers first, sowing confusion and discord through the thugs. Craig finished them off, and then the Blackhawk began circling the base, firing at anything that moved.
Ryan shot and killed several men who were hiding in the shadows of the complex, and was about to shoot at another when a rocket propelled grenade sailed past the Blackhawk.
Pilot: "I'm starting evasive maneuvers, strap in and hold on.
Ryan scrambled off the floor and jumped into the second gunner's seat just in time. The Blackhawk swerved left and right, zigzagged and tried to dodge the increasing fusillade of rocket propelled grenades, while still providing targets for the gunners...
OOC: Erm?isn?t your name Ryan, Boba Fett?
Rolling her shoulders, Raellyra just shrugged, waiting for the covering fire to start. They had to get into the base, before they could get the files. What they were looking for, specifically, was the plan maps, site maps, and, overall, hopefully the next attack times, destinations?anything that would help the government stop the attacks. After the bombings and disappearances lately, the government was getting desperate. They didn?t want anything else to happen. Civilians were starting to panic, and paranoia was running rife.
The firepower started, and chaos ensued, allowing Rae and her team to enter. Or rather, she realized, Rae and?herself. Her team was actually just Rae and Jaudiar. And Jaudiar wasn?t there. Rae had no back up. ****. Too bad, she realized. This was a mission, and she had to go on. Moving over, Rae ran quickly around orientating herself, glad for her pistol, and the commotion outside. It stopped the others from realizing that she was there. But she needed more protection; she didn?t have backup. Spying a female who looked like her size, Rae whispered to her. ?Hey, hey!? The woman, who had black hair and blue eyes just like Rae, looked over, then started walking hurriedly towards her. In fact, Rae mused, I could probably pass for her. All the better. ?Come on! We need your help!? The woman, or girl, in reality, walked up rapidly.
?What??
?Come on! Hurry!? Rae started walking, confident in this girl?s naivety. She opened the door to an empty room; switching the bullets in her gun to one of the tranquilizers the Niomi had given her earlier. The girl followed, and Rae turned around, shooting her quickly in the neck. The girl sank down to the floor, an expression of shock all over her face. ?Thank-you.? She whispered, taking the uniform off the girl. Grey skirt?skirt? Why would someone wear a skirt in a military base? It was highly impractical. However, Rae dismissed it, taking the girls shirt, too. It was pale blue, button up. God, she?s like a civilian! This is a blouse! Frowning, Rae gave some mercy, dressing the girl in her own ? admittedly craggy ? clothes.
She hid the girl?s prone body, knowing the girl would wake up soon enough. Probably in a couple of hours. Slipping out of the room, she walked along, finding the main room easily. Someone grinned at her, and she smiled back cautiously. ?Where?s your father?? They asked.
?Erm?I?m not sure.?
?So where is Baudez? Does the girl know?? A soldier shouted.
Rae froze. Baudz is my father? Her father? Holy **** am I in trouble. ?I?m sorry,? she smiled. ?I have to go.? She fluttered her hand in dismissal. ?Women?s problems?? And left, trying not to draw out her gun from the holster attached to her leg. She pulled out her radio, glad that they were rather small.
?Liam. Adam. Someone!?
?What?? the static voice came over the line. ?Rae?? It was Liam. ?What do you want? We?re a little busy, you know.?
?Look, Jaudiar didn?t make it in with me?so I got some protection?disguise type of thing. ?Cept, apparently, my disguise came from Baudez?s daughter. I didn?t even know he had a daughter?what do you want me to do with her??
?Ah.? Liam said. ?Okay, we?ll take her. How do we find her??
?Right. You go through the west entrance, fifth door on the right. She?s in the closet.?
?Okay,? the crackling voice sounded. ?We?ll get her.?
Sighing contentedly, Rae took off down the hall again. Entering, she composed herself, hoping she could pull this off without any idea of how the girl acted. Re-entering the main room, she smiled at nobody in general, then moved over to a high-tech computer, and its personnel. ?So, what does this do??
The person looked at her startled. ?You?ve never taken an interest in this before. But, this is basically a tracker. It tells us where our men are, who our enemies are, and what they?re doing now.?
She fought down a flutter of panic in her throat. ?Individual enemies, or just enemies in general??
?Enemies in general.?
?Okay.? She perched herself on the seat next to him. He was looking rather nervous, as if he wasn?t comfortable around her?or rather, Baudez?s daughter. ?Who are the blue dots??
?The SAS.?
?The red??
?ASIO?
?And the black??
?Well, it?s a rather obscure group. Its known as SYF.?
?Okay.? Rae sat down and watched the screen again, praying she?d get out of this easily?
Liam slipped his sunglasses down, familiar fanged grin resting itself comfortably on his face. He dropped the headset into his jacket and unholstered his MS1. Siren and Niomi, snoozing in the absence of action, didn?t even notice he had gone. Liam shrugged, less baggage, the better. Then he began running. Through the trees, over logs, sprigot mortar booby traps?
Sprigot?mortar?booby?traps?
?Oh dear??
Liam quickly raised his hands over his head in defence and increased the pace, as the world was seemingly ripped apart behind him. Offending white-hot pieces of metal flew past his ears and crash-landed into scrubland, setting it alight.
~~~~~
The man at the radar blinked as several large orange circles appeared on the screen, just behind a constantly vanishing little black dot.

?**** the SYF bugger is making it past the mortars, it won?t be long before he?s on the base.?

Rae raised an eyebrow, ?Sprigot mortars??

The man glanced back, ?A high explosion shell is connected to a sort of trigger which is bolted into trees, which is connected to a trip wire. Anything that hits the trip wire is instantly greeted with the shell flying towards them?your daddy dug ?em up ages ago. These weapons were made for the Vietnam War, pretty much sunk into the past after that??

?Right then??

~~~~~
Liam hit the concrete wall running and manage to climb up on top of it before the momentum failed him. He glanced back, panting. The forest was now set alight and only twisted charcoal twigs remained. He gulped some air down, that was way too close, close even by his standards. He took a quick check of his surroundings.
On the inside of the wall was just empty grass; a couple of rocks and then the building began. Liam raised the MS1 and pulled the trigger, giving a heavy spread of slugs through the grass towards the wall. The gun clicked empty just as it?s bullets hit something big, and explosive.
Liam toppled off his perch as a ?bouncing betty? exploded and proceeded to do more damage to the grass than he could ever do. Liam climbed back up the wall, ignoring the stinging pain in his arm, he hadn?t fallen out of sight fast enough, a piece of burning shrapnel was now happily burning in away in his flesh.
He slung himself back over and walked through the now clear path, muttering to himself, ?This better be bloody worth it Rae.?
OOC: Yeah, my characters name is Ryan... :blush:
------------------------------------------------
Ryan jumped as a loud series of explosions went off in the forest near the compound. Now there wasn't much left of the forest, and another explosion went off inside the side wall of the compound.
Ryan *over his headset to the Blackhawk pilot*: "What's going on?!"
Pilot: "According to our tracker someone from the SYF just ran over an uncharted minefield, set off some kind of explosive charge in the complex courtyard, and is now inside the building."
Craig: "That was Liam's side of the complex."
Ryan: "I hope he didn't get hit by any of that shrapnel, it leaves a nasty scar..."
Ryan and Craig continue to pound away at the outer buildings of the compound, since the explosion inside the courtyard had wiped out the group of enemies who had been shooting at the helicopter.
Pilot *over headset*: "All the opposition around the base is dead. I'm going to land in the courtyard and let you off."
Ryan: "Ok, but can one of us stay behind and act as gunner to make sure nobody we want to kill leaves the base alive?"
Pilot: "Sure, but hurry up and decide. The copter is safer in the air."
Itashi: "I'll stay."
Ryan and Craig un-strap from their seats and step down from the Blackhawk into the deserted courtyard of the complex...
Far away from her fellow SYF members, Jaudiar calmly combed her thick brown hair.... Several minutes later, she twisted it back and secured it with the chopsticks she lightfingered from the kitchen. Donning her white shirt and dark leggings, she stretched backwards, then forwards again. Then she slid the gauntlet onto her right arm and headed down the stairs.....
In the kitchen she heated up her customary cup of coffee and sat down at the table....The mail was boring. Bills, bills, adds, bills, ooh. Letter.
Jadiar: ...to Jaudiar Sevenstar. Hmm, how did they get the address?
She scanned it silently...then she took out her lighter and calmly set it on fire. Several moments later, it was reduced to carbon.....Jaudiar sighed and walked back upstairs with her drink.
