[COLOR=royalblue][i]Jaudiar sighed with resignation and turned to their most recent aquisition. He whimpered under her silver lidded glance, and began to resemble a puddle of quivering jelly. Rae smiled like a child and nearly giggled, until Jaudiar's nails started moving towards his throat. He gasped and began to speak.[/i]

Man: I know nothing I swear!

Jaudiar: Does the name...Ananda....ring any bells?

Man: No!

Jaudiar: What about Liam?

Man: ....none.

Jaudiar: You're lying. Tell the truth. Now.

Man: .....I...I...can't.

Rae: Why not?

Man: They'll kill me.

Jaudiar: Believe me, they won't kill you. Not yet anyways. I'll give you ten more seconds before I start ripping off the first layer of skin......[/COLOR]

Siren poked her head out of the doorway.

Siren: What? You're depriving me of my fun?

Her face turned down into a pout and Rae and to stifle a laugh with one hand. Siren immedietly brightened.

Siren: Oh well. I can play in his blood then.

The man's face blanched and he began babbling. Siren made a face and claped a hand over his mouth.

Siren: Sh. You talk too fast. Now relax and tell us exactly and truthfully what you know...


OOC: Raiha asked me to pass on that she's "On this sucky restriction that doesn't allow me to do very much, but yeah. I'm sure we'll fix eventually." M hm. So she'll be back. I hope... >.<

Liam paused, perched on the quadbike and utterly lost for words at what he saw before him.

The day had started so well, and so...normal..he met the family, got weirded out by the little kids, met Brad's year younger sister...watched her flee from his presence for some odd reason and then was asked to herd cattle that had got lost in the far off paddocks.

Then he found the Uranium mine.

Well it was pretty obvious it was one, and an illegal one. It basically reeked of it.

And suddenly he was confused.

He knew it [i]couldn't[/i] be coincidence, the Commander must've known this was here and sent him to deal with it...and yet...it was all so troubling...he actually had [i]doubt[/i] in his mind about what to do.

It was rather disconcerning.

Brad pulled up beside him and whistled.

'What the hell is that?' he said.

Liam raised an eyebrow, 'something about a k long and wide is sitting in your back paddock and churning out trucks every hour and [i]you have no idea what it is?[/i]'

Brad snorted and spat in the dirt, ' 's in the back paddock, not enough feed out here, besides, the house is about 600k's from here. We never come here.'

'Oddly enough I can understand that logic...'

[COLOR=royalblue][i]With the pressure of Jaudiar's knife, the threat of Siren loosing her temper, and Rae's child-like eyes, he spilled his guts. All of them. Everything he had known, been told, and thought for himself became transparent. Rae caught everything with her recording device, Jaudiar picking up every bit of his body language, and reading his eyes.

Siren smiled and nodded here and there, accenting his story with "mhmms" "oh yes" and "of courses." It was a rather long time before he was done....and when he was, Rae took the hypodermic needle from the inside of Jaudiar's heel strap and calmly inserted it into his mouth. He struggled, then passed into a deep coma. The girls picked up everything and took off....unseen and unheard.

Once they made it to the relative safety of their room, they played back everything.

Man: What about the older sister?

???: Keep away from her, she's hell on wheels.

Man: And the defected one?

???: Same goes for her, except she's unafraid of death.

Man: So what's her connection to the target?

???: It is affectionate, but unclear. It could cloud her judgement. But because it is her, it might not. Either way, steer clear. *static* How I do is nothing great.

Rae: Hang on, there's more.

Siren: Play back the last bit. It sounds wrong.[/COLOR]

Liam picked up the phone and slowly dialled a number he hadn't used in a long time.

'You got enough digits in that number?' Brad muttered. 'You keep going like that and you'll end up ringing some place in China.'

Liam raised an eyebrow, 'they're called area codes Brad, you use them to ring interstate...excuse me, I have to ring a dlivery firm about a package that has to arrive tomorrow.'

Brad chuckled, 'you really do have no idea about the outback do you? You city kids come here with all your city expectations...honestly, you have no clue about the bush do you?'

Liam shot him a dark look and muttered something into the phone. A short conversation later, he hung up and faced Brad.

'It'll arrive tomorrow.' Liam chuckled, ' [i]honestly[/i] you country folk have no idea about the power of [i]money[/i]'

Brad snorted, removed his akubra and wiped the sweat off his forehead with the back of his arm.

'I'm headin' to the shower to get washed up, tea'll be ready soon, Mum won't want the mud through the kitchen, so you might want to get washed up too.' Brad nodded to the quad bikes through the window and the drizabones lying on them, 'don't forget to put those away too.'

Brad clomped off through the house, footsteps heavyier than necessary. Liam grinned and left the house, heading over towards the bikes and grabbing a full jerry can of fuel.

[b]Meanwhile, several thousands of kilometres away[/b]

'Crap.'

The secretary looked up from her work, new to the job, she didn't understand the importance of the phonecall the boss had just received.

'What is it sir?'

The head of Darling Shipping looked at her blankly, 'we had a call, I need a package to be picked up from this address and delivered here- he slipped a piece of paper towards her- by tomorrow. Do I make myself clear?'

It was the secretary's turn to look blank.

'There? [i]Tomorrow?[/i] Picked up and delivered, by [i]tomorrow?[/i] But..that's half a country away!'

Her boss mopped his brow.

'But if we do it, it's worth a seven figure lump sum...'

'I'll get right on it now shall I sir?'

[color=darkred][i]Rae moved away from the girls, making her excuses as she went. [/i]"Have to go do something. If I'm not back in a year, I'm dead. If I'm not back in an hour, I'll call you."

"Don't call us, we'll call you?" [i]Jaudiar muttered, but nodded none the less. She turned back to her task; sorting out socks.

She left the building and shut the door behind her, turning toward Jachol Street - one of the less desirable streets in town. It held most of the abandoned houses and squatters, one in particular.

She slipped through a hole in the wire fencing and into the warehouse. It was dark, and dingy, but if you looked closely beneath the grime, and under the boxes of crap, there were signs of habitation. A footprint here, a strewn piece of bedsheet there, a soda can on the crate.

Underneath the crates, Rae knew, was sophisticated computer equipment. Probably stolen, although, she'd never bothered to enquire.

A man shuffled out, deep set eyes darting about suspiciously as he came to check the disturbance. No sirens had gone off, but this place was had a better wired alarm system than the agency's.

He stooped over and picked up a T-shirt, then smiled at Rae, looking his 20 years of age. [/i]
