Omega Ruins...

I trying to finish up my FFX game I have neglected for so long. I was wondering about the Omega Ruins. Is the fiend Omega supposed to be Omega Weapon? I beleive it was called that some where, but Its only refered to as Omega in the game. I have not seen him yet. Im still collecting the Aeons and LEgendary weapons. I entered the ruins earlier but was clearly not leveled up enough to continue through.

I also read online that Ultima Weapon was in the cave too. Is this a rumor or is it true?

Last thing, whats the recommended character level to defeat Omega. Well there really are no character levels but what abilities and such do you recomend.

Ultimate and Omega Weapon, in that order, "live" in the Omega ruins. Supposedly, Omega was some sort of heathen banished to the ruins, where he turned into a fiend.
If you have any idea what an Okuwamon looks like, you can get a pretty good idea of what Omega Weapon looks like.
Anyways, Ultimate is on the first level. Once you beat it, you go to the lower level, which consists of several platforms that are set up in a downward spiral--every time you enter a platform, you get into a fight. The final platform has Omega, who leaves about 6 (if I remember right) Lvl4 Spheres--very handy for those hard to get but desperately needed Skills--DoubleCast, FullLife, etc.

Me personally, I would work to get the additional Aeons first. They can save your butt so many times, in addition to helping Yuna level up (which means the Aeons will level up, too), and giving them a chance to fill their Overdrive guages in preperation for Ultimate/Omega. Unless, of course, you have Anima--in that case, you are MORE than ready to send the Weapons to the Farplane--just use Yuna's Overdrive to Grand Summon Anima for Ultimate, use Overdrive: Oblivion on Ultimate, then (if you prefer) escape from the platform fights until you get to Omega, and pop him with Anima's Overdrive (remember, if you Grand Summon an Aeon, whatever is already in their Overdrive gauge is NOT used at all--which means, as long as you have both Yuna and Anima Overdrived, you're set).

Now, since I used Auron in every single fight since I got him, he was pretty powerful, and could handle the Ruins really well. I suggest getting some Legendary Weapons (Auron's is the easiest to get, IMO, Yuna's second) and their corresponding Crests/Sigils. Every powered up Legendary Weapon allows your charas to hit their Overdrives three times as fast, plus includes some shweet abilities (Auron gets FirstStrike, Yuna gets 1MP ability, and so on).
Try to know Curaga, Osmose, Bio (Bio helps tremendously), Steal/Mug, and have plenty of healing items. Try to be Ward/Proof against stone, confusion, and beserk, too.
For me, Auron knowing Flee equipped with his FirstStrike ability got me out of a lot of tough spots.

Finally (I know, this is a really really long post), I STRONGLY suggest you do not wander far from the save sphere. You get healed fully every time you touch it--plus I'd suggest saving. Spirits can easily wipe out your team in the long run with its Poison Wind (something like that), and just plain stay away from Master Tonberries--unless you like seeing Game Over flashed over your dead team's bodies. ^^;

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I think you answered all of my questions and more.

I do not think I am quite ready yet. I going to get the rest of the Aeons and the Legendary Weapons. By then, my characters should have the good abilities like Double Cast and so on. Main abilities I am working for are Holy, DoubleCast, AutoLife and Ultima. SO by the time I finish my collecting, I should be more then ready to face the two.

Well, Lvl4 Spheres are hard to come by, except in the Omega Ruins. I'd personally suggest getting Holy first (and how did you get past Yunalesca without it?! Teh heh, Auron knew it on my file, but fat lot of good that did--the Crimson Warrior ain't a decent spellcaster at all--not that he's supposed to be).

So the whole thing's a catch 22--need lvl4 spheres to get the abilities to help you through the ruins which how the lvl4 spheres that...etc etc etc.

Like I said, get those extra Aeons and a few Legendary Weapons. And you don't have to go overboard, either. I was able to get through the final bosses pretty fast with Anima. Best of luck!

Just to show you how handy the Ruins are (when you feel you can handle them), Auron walked in with just under 6000 HP, and walked out with over 9000. And the list of Abilites he picked up...whoa. And that's just on the character I used all the time. Imagine how the rest of my characters got pumped up by the Ruins. You can gain sphere levels and good skills quickly in the Ruins--just stay near that save point!!!

Omega Weapon is so easy it's laughable, well, at least if you look back at the toughness of Ruby Weapon and all those other weapons from past Final Fantasys. He really isn't to hard, I thought he would be but I easily beat him. But if I were you I would still level up, like you said, because I don't think you're ready just yet. I'd at least get all of the Aeons first before I did anything else, they really help.

I totally agree with you, AnimeLover--Ultimate and Omega were disappointing, comparing to the lengthy amount of time I had to spend on the Ruby and Emerald Weapons. *makes a face as she remembers those two*
FF7's Ultimate Weapon wasn't all that bad--you know, the one you keep ramming Cid' airship in to, in order to get to that one secret area?

But FF10's? Pfffft.

Eh don't even bother leveling up. If you just have one ultimate weapon maxed out so you can break max damage that's all you need. Maybe my speed was a lot higher, but when I fought Ultima he got off one move that did....1,000 to all my guys, and then he just sat there dying. Omega seemed even easier oddly enough, tho he managed to pull of TWO moves, a mass-attack to everyone...1500-2000 or so, and a physical attack that missed. After beating him I actually reset to fight him again, wanted to see if he had any cool moves. But he just sat there like a stupid potato lump, ugh. Omega Ruins is the best place to level up, watch out for malboros and those tombstone type guys that counter w/ pharoh's curse, stupid status effects. Anywhoo the more u spend leveling up to fight Ultima/Omega, the more disappointed u'll be, just fight them now and maybe u'll think they don't extremely suck.

If you really want to take a crack at the Master Tonberries, have someone in your party who hasn't made a lot of kills. Make sure that character has some sort of attack, skill, etc. that can kill the tonberry within the four waddles that he takes before attacking and you're all set. Having someone that has a low kill count, attack Master Tonberry, will greatly reduce the amount of damage he does with his counterattack, Karma.
