VP-Master
Over the years, we've seen many new and unique launch for the Nintendo systems. Starting from the classic NES and now with an *interesting* new one for Gamecube. I'm just curious to see which Zelda do you feel is the best game of all time. I haven't played all of them but so far, but I think Oracle of Ages is the best Zelda game I've played. It's got a great story, lot of challenge, and nice long quest. So what game do you think is best?
John2
The Legend of Zelda is the best. Still #1in top 500!:luv: The Legend of Zelda may not be as challenging as others or have as many characters, but it gives me an indiscibalble feeling of joy. Link's Awakening was spectacular though. Desbreko
My favorite is A Link to the Past, on the SNES and soon to be on the GBA. Why? Well, I think it's mainly just the overall gameplay. Short of the two 3D Zelda games (OOT and MM), no other Zelda game has as complex and challenging dungeons, and the way that they worked the Light and Dark Worlds together for puzzles and whatnot was really fun. That, and it has 11 dungeons, making it quite a long game. Also, it's got the best set of items in any Zelda game, I think. It's one of the few where the Boomerang is actually useful, it's got Bombos, Ether and Quake, the Magic Cape, the Fire and Ice Rods, and other cool ones. My biggest problem with the game, I think, would have to be with the way they did the sword shots. First off, they're really wide, so they're too easy to hit with, and second, they only do as much as the Lv. 1 sword. Personally, I think the shots should do damage equal to the sword level below the one you have, and the shots should be long and narrow, like the ones in Link's Awakening. Oh, and I'd like to remind people that if you're going to reply to this thread, give some reasons why you like a particular Zelda game. Don't just say "I think this one is best!" and leave it at that... *cough* ^The above post.^ *cough* ...Any posts like this will be deleted.
D_H_Magus
I liked ocarina of time the best. I loved the way that they made all the 3d models in the game. but what sold me on this game was the ability to use big and small link, plus ganondorf/ganon is so fun to fight. the other games were fun and all but i dont think they can compete with a 3d link. i havent played it but i think that the gamecube zelda will probably end up being the best zelda game. the reason: the graphics suck balls. and if the graphics suck then that usually means that there is tons of room for great gameplay, especially when your playing on a next gen console. Semjaza
Out of all of them... I'd have to go with Oracle of Seasons/Ages (I can't pick between the two). It's like a perfect mix between the clasic Zeldas and the N64 games. Dungeon design is wonderful, the characters are familiar and it's just a hell of a lot of fun. Normally I'd probably say Link to the Past, but these games were just really damn good. Glad I picked them up :).
OlgaTheDwarf
The one coming out in febuary. My reasonings are the fact that I have not played it so it's the one I'm least bored with and it's the only game I'm looking foward to on the GCN. Raichu Tamer
The one Zelda game that i have completed, Links awakening It is a brilliant game which keep me occupied for hours, this is one of the harder Zeldas to complete, so i have heard (I got stuck on several occasions)and until i play the other zelda games this is my choice! Valen
You want a challenging Zelda game? Zelda II. Not A Link To The Past, that was #3... and my favorite. It had a good storyline, easy controls, not too hard, not too easy, and dungeon design was superb! I have to admit though, with Zelda's only real competitor being Final Fantasy, aside from the accident on Gamecube, Zelda will keep going and keep getting better... hopefully... and then maybe I'll have another favorite... maybe not. It all depends on three factors for me, Gameplay, Graphics, music. If the music is annoying and repetitive, I just can't sit through the game... simple as that... Reflection
I'd say Zelda: A Link To The Past for the Super Nintendo [Also the best Nintendo console of all time, RIP]. Link To The Past was too easy though. I'll go for Ocarina of Time.

I'd give it :) :) :) 3 smilies.

TheDarkOtaku
The best Zelda game has got to be Ocarina of Time. It's the only game I could think of that I went back to beat 3 times over in a few weeks. Plus, the storyline was great. I could trully say it's a game anybody, whether a newbie or veteran to video games, can enjoy. :)
Edge_the_Ninja
Well my favorite would have to be A link to the past, despite my liking of the 2 GBA games, i like the graphics, i like the story, the controls, and the items, and the bosses arnt to easy and not yet too hard ( I thought OOT could have hired balde bi sexual midgets and they would pose a higher pose than those previously selected by Gannon) and thats pretty much it.... Rhys Mayiessen
Ahhh my favorite Zelda game would have to be hands down The Ocarina of Time for the N64. I have finished that game totally and I have tried Majora's Mask but I don't like it as much. The Ocarina of Time has a lot more temples in it than Majora's Mask and is a lot less confusing. I admit that I haven't really played any of the Game boy games of Zelda but I still think that the Ocarina of Time would be my favorite
MysticBabe
i haven't played many, and since OOT was my first one ever to play, i guess it would be that. but i'm getting kinda a tired of it, i've played the whole game 20 million times. so i'm tied with LTTP OOT MM. i just recently ordered LTTP from nintendo's warehouse because my snes is up and going still, and i have yet to beat it.(dang sports, taking me away from free time.) for mm, at first i hated the game, so i barely ever played it. i thought the story line was stupid. but now i love that game because i barely ever played. so now when i get new games, i take care not to over do it, so i don't take the fun out of it. Spikey
Mine is The Legend of Zelda. I think Link looks cool in that game. I also like the way that all the bosses look. They aree really cool.
James
I'm really not sure what my favourite Zelda game is. They're all so good! I have a fondness for Zelda II...if only because it was so very strange and dark. It was a very special game. But I have such fond memories of all the Zelda titles. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past was absolutely brilliant. I believe it was the pinnacle of 2D Zelda games. But then, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are undisputed classics. Ocarina of Time is so subtle and beautiful...it's just a wonderful world to explore and be a part of. Majora's Mask is somewhat like Zelda II...in the sense that it is quite dark and unique. I have many fond memories of it. So...blah. I guess I'm no good at answering this question. lol
amidamaru
Definitely OOC. Majora's Mask is good, but Princess Zelda isn't there as much, and I still dun know why the call it "The Legend of Zelda", but that rant will continue some other time. Semjaza
There were actually a fre of these games that didn't have "Legend of Zelda" before the title in Japan. I figure they just added them here so the games would be familiar and sell better lol. As for that Time of Trial game wasn't a hacked ROM as far as I remember... It was a game some guy made from scratch, and it really wasn't very comparable to other Zelda games graphically. A lot of people tell me it's good, but I wasn't too impressed.... If that's not it, then I dunno lol, but if it was it;s definately not illegal really (outside of copyright infringement).
BunnyBunny05
All of them are great to me, but I like Majora's Mask, b/c it has good graphics, and it gives me one heck of a challenge (Bunny must face her fears....{Skulltulas, The man who lost the mask, THE MOON! AAAAAH!}). It's also fun seeing what the different masks can do (especially the dancing one).
