Juu
I guess the only reason why I seem to agree more with democrats...is because they're so against war... I really don't like creating a big action against something, even if it's something as small as banning someone froma chatroom... @_@ Anyway.. as far as I'm concerned, I don't prefer one party over the other. both make mistakes, and clean up after their mistakes. ...er...half of the time...
Kent
I dont mean to come across "partisan" infact its quite the oppisite. i would completely be a liberal if there wasnt so much hipocracy, like what juuthena was talking about. Liberals are against war; when clinton was in office, tom daschel was beating the war drum for iraq saying what a danger it was. lydon johnson, starter of a war that lead to americas worst years in the 20th century was a democrate. My main prob. with liberals and democrates are 2 things. 1. Defending those who should out right be condemd, such as those jerks at N.A.M.B.L.A., all the while not willing to defend a middle class white boy who was kicked out of school for putting a picture of a b-52 on his locker. 2. Taxing, i know for a fact that the constitution of this great country (america) deals directly with the idea that it is wrong to tax for reasons of benevolence. hey, if i wanna give to charity, ill do it on my own, i dont want to be forced. Its also a self defeating idea to elect democrates who want to tax more, if your in favor of a less powerful federal government. one great way to get the government into your life is to have them taxing you. More importantly to me, i love to express myself, i like the idea of herb being de-criminalized, i want to be able to protest and have people living in prosperity. unfortunatly, democrates arent about those things, they just run in elections on issues like that, and dont do anything besides pass ineffective legislation. In my heart i want to be a liberal. in my head i know im a conservative. i try to be middle of the road, but in america, we drive on the right and im gonna stay there. I also just wondered if the above post where juuthena mentioned banning someone... was that directed at me. i love the boards and would really hate that. if thats the case please pm me with an explanation.sorry if im really that offensive. James
Okay well, there are two things I need to bring up with you. 1) You're acting as though Republicans have never been hypocritical. Once again, I'm no huge Democrat OR Republican supporter...but both parties can be equally hypocritical and stupid. It's not called partisanship...it's called POLITICS. 2) Please clean up your post quality. I'm not going to ask you again. I've asked you repeatedly already. I'm talking about spelling, grammar, capital letters, punctuation and paragraphs. It makes your posts easier to read and gives you more credibility. Post quality (or lack thereof) will get you banned...much moreso than whatever your opinion on a subject might be. So that's something to watch out for.

Because war is a waste of good lives, time, money, breath, lives (oh, I already said that)...anyways, that's my point that I was saying. There's always going to be some bad leader in the mix of good. Always. And if you want to test that formula...go right ahead...
Kent
You guys are all right. war is a waste and leaders who are "evil" do constantly pop up. but that is no reason to sit back and let these leaders do as they wish. If they arent stopped where they are, they will have to be stopped somewhere else when they are even more powerful and even harder to stop. I may support action, but it scares me to death because i know exactly how we are figure out that sodamn has chemical and biological weapons, hes going to use them again and it will be on my country men when we go to take them away. So, should we just stay out and let him continue? should we contain him and deal with this until him and his son have both finished their reigns as dictators? should we just we another 5,000 or so die because he has no restraint from using these weapons on his own people, none the less, the countless iranians he took out with them. I dont really know what to do, but i trust in my secretary of state powell and my president bush. I would also like to appoligize for my lack of grammatical abilities, any pointers would be greatly appreciated.thanks

Shall I do it again? You need to take some more time when posting; focus on using capital letters...using punctuation and seperating points with paragraphs. Kent
I just wanted to remind every one that saddam also commited crimes against mother nature. When Iraq was forced to withdraw from kuwait, he ordered all kuwaiti oil fields to be set ablaze and they were. He also ordered another 420,000 gallons of crude oil to be dumped into the sea, which was done with no hesitation. So think about that along with all the other crimes he has commited. liamc2
Originally posted by AnimeLover I mean we humans aren't barbarians, so why do we have to kill ourselves for nothing?
Note: there you've just technically contradicted yourself. We humans invented the ideal of the barbarian, the title is given to those people who are viewed as uncivilised. Therefore you can call anyone a barbarian because you disagree with their views and ideals. Why do we have to kill ourselves for nothing? Simple. We want stuff. We want to be safe. And the most pathetic thing is that people believe the only way to be safe is by killing lots of people or threatening to do so by carrying or harbouring large weapons. Unfortunately, if we carry weapons, the enemy will be more attracted to our wealth, believing that if it's large enough to need protection, it'll be worth their while. Also, back to the weapon carrying thing, sure, people get killed even when they don't carry arms. Sure, if you carry a weapon, your chances of survival increase, and also decrease at the same time. If the one attacking you notices you have a weapon, they'll feel unsafe, then they'll get a weapon. And once they have a weapon, they'll use it to the extreme to prevent you from using your weapon on them. Just some minor notes...

Kent
Today I watched Tony Blair address the parlament. An intresting event for sure. He stated that "current intelligence shows Iraq has mobile biological weapons labs..." My question is how are we gonna deal with that? And why is Tony Blair supportting action against Iraq? I personally feel that it has to do with the fact that only 2 countries are in danger if Iraq goes unchecked. Isreal (spelling?) and Britain. Tony Blair and Sharron seem to be the only friends the U.S.A. has.
Red
I actually watched an rather interesting show on BBC1 (UK) last night, called Panorama. The show was about Iraq, (for this week anyway) and covered both sides of the argument excellently. It showed how some American spies have claimed to discovored secret nuclear test beds or underground facilities where nuclear and biological weapons are stored. Did anyone else see it?
Kent
A new development has just occured that most of us will hear about soon, hopefully. 130 miles from the Iraqi border in turkey, a 33 pound shipment of a specific substance was siezed. Can you guess what it was? If you said urainium youre a winner. Where does this leave us now? what will this lead to? Im hoping nothing bad. Red
The Uranium was seized 130 miles off the border of Iraq, so I ask the question, was it heading for Iraq? I suppose America will use this to strengthen their argument towards taking action against Iraq, military or otherwise..
Kent
actually it was headed for Iraq, but really, I dont even care to make the politics of the boards appear one way or the other. Things will happen however they may...
Juu
I'm still confused on one thing... Is the US going to war on its own? or are there other countries willing to help? I've heard three totally different stories, so I'm really confused. @_@
Kent
Well, as of late the U.S. is making one simple point, that if the U.N. will not stand by its own word, the U.S. will enforce the policies it allowed the U.N. to institute. Dont get me wrong, the U.N. is and did everything on its own, but the U.N. has one set of teeth, and its the U.S. If the U.N. will not enforce its own rules and regulations (resolutions) then it is "a toothless tiger". The U.S. still hasnt not stated whether or not it is going to war. But the U.S. has made it clear that it will act on its own if the rest of the world will not support it. As for when, right now there are marines in kuwait doing war game exercises. That should be an excellent sign in support of our pursuit of war with Iraq.
