I listen to him alot. If Im not playing him the guys in the next are bumpin it through the wall. There is not much escaping him. My favorite song is "My Dad's gone crazy". I learned all the words and my mouth almost fell off. My favorite LP is probably the Marshall MAthers LP. And my favorite video is "Guilty Conscience". That video is the shiz.

there was already an eminem topic, but o well.

Eminem is, in my opinion, a racist bastard. I hate rap in general, and think he is no better. You can't spell crap without rap.

And why listen to eminem when you could listen to good music by MxPx? :p

While I don't hate rap (as I think it's insanely ridiculous to hate a genre of music), it's not something I listen to very often. Because of this, I don't think I am fit to criticize Eminem's work. However, I don't like his stance on many things (homosexuality, women, etc.).

Well, if you consider Linkin Park to be rap (which you kind of could), then Linkin Park and Eminem are the only two rap groups I listen to.

"Stan" and "The Real Slim Shady" are my favorites off of Marshall Mathers LP. "White America," "Hailie's Song," those are good ones off of The Eminem Show.

Don't care much for all the um, "history," but a helluva rapper.

Eminem has hateful lyrics ect. ect. I don't agree with everything he says ect. ect.

Ok, anyway...
Eminem is a good rapper. Sure his opinions may cause a little controversy, but at least he's honest. When you a look at a good number of rappers at his level of fame, all they have to rap about is money, loose women, or broke men (if the rapper is a woman). Eminem is kinda unique, plus his ability to actually rap is good. Rapping isn't as easy as some people make it look.

Yeah, so one of my favorite Eminem songs would have to be "Stan." It's funny, has a serious message, and it helped Dido's singing career. :)

For whoever said that it was ridiculous to hate a genre of music, that is clearly an opinion because I don't like rap very much in general, and I don't find it ridiculous.

The controversy of Eminem...now there's a subject. I remember when I was about tenor so, and how much I loved 'Slim Shady', and how great I thought he was.

My view was soon distorted when 'Stan' Came out because if you look at it, it was a rather egotistical move, was it not? He sang about a guy who would kill theselves for him. I make my point.

Although I'm not a huge fan of the guy, his songs, 'Cleaning Out My Closet' and 'Hayley's Song' (Which he happens to sing, not rap in...) are pretty good.

Maybe "Stan" was a tad egotistical, but the entire point of the song was not to act out the lyrics in any of his songs (kill your wife, put her in the trunk, drive off of bridge). I remember in an interview he said that he could say a hateful statement in his songs and then turn around and say "just kidding" a few seconds later and no one would care that he said "just kidding."

That, or over exposure, Sylph. Don't assume so much. I can understand how it's a pet peeve, but I really don't see how you can come to such a conclusion.

Sylph has a point. I can't conceive how someone can hate a genre of music. Not hate. I mean, I don't like country music, but I don't hate it. I don't listen to that much heavy metal, but I don't say "argh, I hate this music" and develope an indescribable headache and throw the radio out the window. Actually, I like System of a Down and LeAnn Rimes, so maybe they weren't such good examples...

Words are just that. Words. He does have the right to say what he wants without it leading to someone getting hurt. So what he thinks homosexuals are disgusting or he hates his mom and wishes she would die. Sometimes I have those fellings too when I get really angry and Im not racist, sexist or a homophobe. True what he says is a bit too far but hey the songs are that more entertaining. This kind of controversy is what made him so famous in the first place. If you dont like him you still know who he is and you listen to see what he says next. Just like Howard Stern. I love beetlejuice.

PS: and when comes to him rapping, he is one of the best. My friend listens to a lot of rap and has a lot of non-eminem affiliated rappers as favs, but he says (and I agree) his lyrics go far beyond hoes, blunts and 40's.

Eminem. Okay, well. I actually own one of his albums The Eminem Show. My bother bought it 'for me'
for my birthday. A tactical error; I could see right through him. He loves Eminem, and I'm not fussed either way. So I listened to it, just to annoy him. Its not that bad. I wouldn't list Eminem as one of my favorite singers, but not my worst either. I enjoyed some songs like "Sing for the Moment"...that sort of thing. Most of the hype he generates is well, hyped up. I see nothing wrong with him...if you discount the prejudices. Everyone has them.

I'm kinda hypocritical on the subject of Eminem. I like his music, yet I don't. It's like, the lyrics are pretty out there on the boarder, if not over in most people's opinion, yet they have nice beat. As far as background support goes, he's cool, but some of his lyrics can be pitched. The one song that he made that I truly like is Without Me. That video was hilarious.

"Without me" is a good song, but it has really turned into "The Real Slim Shady". And about The Eminem Show, I think it is his most layed back LP yet. Even with the nurder and stuff. Do you remember the song "Kim". Holy whacktacular lyrics Foredaddy, youre F@%&in' right!

I completely agree w/ you. Eminem is a classic example of a white person who thinks he's black. Even then, he is still racist. His lyrics are disgusting, his videos are disgusting, and his behavior is disgusting.

Eh... I refuse to get into an arguement about his lyrics.
I don't mean that he literally believes he's black. What I meant was that he has the stereotypical "black personality" I'm not being racist. I'm talking about the "I'm from the 'hood" attitude.

But you know... when he wrote 'stan', he was in alot of pain. His wife tried to kill herself, by slitting her own wrists... He was shocked, and in pain.

You really can't blame him...

I agree with Juu,Eminem(My Favorite Singer:p )HAs gone through many things in his Life in his Singing Carer,He lost Hallie for a while(Listen to 'Hallies Song') His wife tried to kill herself,His Mom and Dad werent that good a' parents,HIs mom kept making him take drugs(listen to 'Cleanin' Out my Closet') Sure Eminem might be a Little 'racist',but overall,if you dont listen to those Lyrics,I think he's a good guy,he's always talken about how much he loves His Daughter and things,And..well..he can get sorta' emotional in his songs, but you need to listen to them to find out If you listen to,'Say goodbye to HollyWood''Hallies Song'Yes,and even in 'Square Dance'(my second favorite Song on ES)He talks about things that hurt him.

P.SYeah...I'm an 11 year old who's Memorized Eminem:D

If I could say the things I wanted to say about Eminem I would be banned. So I'll just condence it and put put a PG-13 stamp on it.

As far as I'm concered Eminem is a little baby that wants attention. Somebody needs to beat the crap out of him so he can realize that he's not such a big-shot just because he sings about kicking Moby's ***.

And about Stan, I could care less.

That is all for my two cents about the wigger Eminem, give it up your not black.
