The game was really announced back during E3 and besides what you just mentioned, it takes place sometime between X6 and Megaman Zero. No word yet on the story but whatever it is it better be good. Why? Because Zero is in the game too. Due to events in X6, he shouldn't be, so right away many fans fear the game is already going to bomb unless it makes sense. Anything thing is that the game is said to be 2 players. Thats right 2. However that too is still unclear on how a 2 player mode will be used. Thanks to the new "Duel Hero System" that the game has, players are said to execute combos with both X and Zero. So no one knows yet if there will be 2 players on screen at the same time or if one player goes in first and just taps a button to call his friend to take over. (a la Marvel Vs. Capcom) Lastly the game is on the PS2 and is supposed to be realeased this Winter in Japan. Also, to see this game in action, there is video of it as well. Finding it is another story.... Man, I just can't wait to play Megaman in 3d. From what I can see in the screenshot Megaman's 3d counter part actualy does him justice. But will that be the same story for the game? I don't know. Semjaza Posted September 21, 2002 Author Share Posted September 21, 2002 I know it was announced long ago (and even if it wasn't, it's not like it's not expected -- Capcom milks series to [i]death[/i]), but at least a shot gives people something to talk about. Something the game forum here needs quite often, or no one posts for days lol. No one seems to care about the TGS posts in the Xbox section here, and other games there have mostly been talked to death already. At least some discussion is coming out of it :). First Zero "dies" in X, "dies" again in X5, then comes back out of nowhere in X6 with a horrible explanation as to how he was able to do so. And then he gets put into hibernation for 112 years. I say let this guy stay in his new time period and give X a new partner or something. It's getting old. Although Zero is my favorite Megaman character ever, his role in the series is kinda weak. [/B][/QUOTE] Hence the quotes around the word "dies".:) X6 mentions the whole repair thing, but doesn't the ending to X5 mention that "X carries on Zero's legacy" which sorta, kinda implies that he might have "died"? I wish he had a better entrance back into the X6 series than "he hides and repairs himself." I hope Dr. Light is explained more, and that the mystery behind X is explained. In the ending credits of MegaMan X3, you get a message that fro there to be peace, X has to KILL Zero. He is the source of the virus. Anyway, it is found that Zero was infected by the new virus by Wily, his creator. X was created by Dr. light, who knew about the virus and created an anti-virus for X to utilize. Zero eventually rids himself of the virus, infecting X himself. X struggles with the virus, which is also an internal struggle in X6 the never mention ANYWHERE BUT THE MANGA, and transmits it into a sleeping Reploid miles beneath the Earth somehow. The sleeping Reploid was Vile. If at all X7 has a repirsal of a villain, it's Vile, Sigma, or maybe even Bass. Iwanna find out SOON! I need more than eight X games (includes Xtreme and Xtreme 2) and thirty X manga issues. But then, there would have to be a new villain to take his place. X4 Sigma was hard as (insert your own swear) to beat with X. I wish Zero would be given a better rep in the X games. In X4 his sword is short-range, and then most of the weapons he gets from the bosses don't use actual weapons but more like enhancements. X5 and 6 improved but Zero was still hard to use. First off, that whole X3 ending thing about X having to kill Zero is already done for. That happens in X5 when Zero goes balistic in one of the endings and X had to fight him to keep the Zero virus (which is worst than the Sigma virus) from spreading. Thankfully, Zero is still true to his nature and reverted back at the last minute. Second is that this is NOT a remake of Megaman X on the SNES. What you saw to believe that is the enemies they used in the game that only appear in X1. That isn't a good reason to think its a remake since other enemies have appeared in other X games and they were sequels (even though they weren't that great...) If it was they would never call it X7 nor give Zero his updated armor that he received in X2. Lastly, you are basing a possible outcome on something that isn't offical. Capcom did not make those mangas you see and are fan made therefore you cannot use them as evidence. Anyways, I'm just saying you have to base your stuff on what we have. Personally I think it'll be kinda cool to play X1 in 3D but again it wouldn't be called X7 and the only thing I can think of that may show X fighting in X1 areas would be if he went back in time or something.
