Omar Harris
Sometimes I sit and wonder, "What has the world come to?" We have had the events of 9/11, the bombings on Afghanistan, and Bush's constant talk of attacking Iraq. My questions are: 1. With the way things are going politically, do you believe we might end up going to war? 2. Do you feel that a 3rd world war is inevitable? 3. If it is, would you gladly volunteer to fight for your country? Why or why not? Honestly I have mixed feelings about teh situation. There are so many factors that make me say no to number 3, primarily my will to live. Is it selfish for me to feel that way?
Kent
No, it is not at all selfish. answers to your questions, in my opinion. 1.yes it is very possible we end up at war. 2. no, I dont feel ww3 is inevitable. 3. my feelings are mixed on this one. I believe pres. Bush will not be re-elected, but because a republican will not be in office I feel that the democrate elected will still have his fingers on the pulse of the country through silly poles and believe its the right thing to do, and continue to beat the war drum. With that in mind, I think its very possible we end up in a war like vietnam (a quagmyer). Robert macnamera believed we could win vietnam with attrition. And frankly, after the events of the Idraing valley, I dont blame him (there was a body count of roughly 10-1). If or when we end up in that situation, I dont want to be involved (im sure my father is rolling in his grave hearing that). Im not gonna go die for a president fighting a war, who doesnt know why hes fighting it. But, if we end up in ww3, I will put aside my personal beef and unlike the swiss (or those damn hippies), I will do my best to make sure my brothers do not die in vain, but rather in an action to rid the world of one of its worst evils to date. Justin
As a Christian, I ultimately feel Armageddon is inevitable, yes. Whether or not that would result from a third World War or not is a matter of opinion. In my opinion, I do think the world is setting itself up for more revaltions from the Bible to begin taking place. If you think all I'm doing is spitting Christian bullcrap, go get a Bible and read it. Either way, somewhere someone in the world...some small nation...some rebel organization...some political power is always at war. So by saying "With the way things are going politically, do you believe we might end up going to war?" I assume you mean "With the way things are going politically, do you believe America might end up going to war?" My answer to that is: Sure. We ultimately will. When, where, why, and with whom I don't know, but the fact of the matter is that tensions are increasing on a world-wide scale. I could say many more things, but they won't be appreciated, so I won't unless asked on a one on basis...:-) -Justin
Domon
Personally i really think President Bush is jumping the gun here, i mean the UN will have inspectors going in and ivestigating and Saddam isn't going to play his little games like he did back i think it was in 96 or 98 somewhaere in that time area. And besides why attack them?? They haven't done anything to us. so here are my answers. 1.I think if our President keeps up what he is doing then we will go to war. 2. No WW3 isn't going to occur yet. 3.No way in hell would i volunteer. If our country provoked the war i sure as hell wouldn't join. Also i plan on staying alive. Foredaddy
Personally I believe Bush is a total friggin puppet and he sould get beat up by some burly bikers. Secondly if war is inevitable I want to do what I can from the states. First off I dont think the army would take me if unless they were desperate. Ya know girth from birth and all. (I just made that up. Booyah.) Thirdly if I did have a choice of wether or to go to war if it came down to the nitty gritty, Id say I would. I know I would be scared, but to protect my family and my country would make it my duty and privilege. Prvt. Foredaddy reporting for duty Sir! man that last part sounded gay.:wigout:
Kent
Actually the part about bush being a puppet sounded gay. Or maybe the reporting for duty, if it was in "this mans army", you know, that whole clinton thing.
zidane11
1. We will probaly end up going to war. 2. I don't really feel that the 3rd world war is coming. If we do start a war it's only going to mainly be the U.S. that's fighting. The whole world won't be involved. 3. I wouldn't volunteer for my country because I am simply not old enough yet. There are a whole lot of topics like this. It feels like I've answered these questions before. I'm glad though that people are thinking about these things. It's important to here what other people have to say.
Red
The world has entered a new stage of awareness in my opinion, considering what Terrorists have displayed they can do to shock the world and how far certain countries are prepared to go for "peace and freedom". 1. With the way things are going politically, do you believe we might end up going to war? The Western World could, especially America and Britain, but I don't think it will go that far (yet) due to a lack of European and Russian support for the whole Iraq situation (amongst others). 2. Do you feel that a 3rd world war is inevitable? I feel that a we can avoid war, that it is quite possible to solve things peacefully, but some countries and leaders make think otherwise.. 3. If it is, would you gladly volunteer to fight for your country? Why or why not? Although I live in England, my English passport (which I had to grab quickly so I could go to America a few years ago) has just run out, and I will be getting an Irish passport soon. I don't think I would volunteer as I doubt Ireland would go to war with anyone, they would probably stay neutral.

They way Saddam acts, we will go to war with him. 2. Do you feel that a 3rd world war is inevitable? Yes. When we attack saddam, all his allies will help him, then all our allies will help us. WW3. 3. If it is, would you gladly volunteer to fight for your country? Why or why not? I am 16, so i can't volunteer, and I would not if I was 18. Going into the army is not what i plan to do. Kent
Hey, Bill Clinton dodged the drft and he didnt have long hair. I used to have long hair and I would never dodge a draft. Although I will admit, I have an overwhelming hate for hippies. I had always thought they were always protesting because they cared about the soldiers. One day I grew up and realized that wasnt the case at all. Hippies are some of the lowest of the low.
Manic Webb
While I'm sure most of the hippies were in it for the neverending supply of drugs and sex, I'm also sure somebody actually cared about the soldiers. I respect some of the ideals of hippies, but like everyone, they went about it all wrong. Anyway... 1. Yes, I think the US is going to war. I'd be an arrogant fool to think I could actually live without seeing a war in my lifetime. 2. No don't think this will be WW3. My guess would be that WW3 will be triggered by these events. 3. I wouldn't volunteer, but I wouldn't injure myself or run away to avoid the draft. If there's one thing I disagree with is Bush's willingness to be the first to attack in a war. In all of the U.S.'s years, we've withheld from being the first to attack in an official war (although I might be wrong, dating back to before WW1)

Mina
1)I don't think so, not if we just stick to our own problems and not try and mess with others'. 2)i don't believe there is gonna be WW3. It just doesn't look that way. A small war maybe, but WW3, I don't think so. 3) I am way too young and I don't like fighting and I am not that aggressive.
