lol, well, i didn't want to admin this but, i'll go ahead and do it.

when i was a little kid (5 or so) i used to dance. and then i realized that you could see my....um......package thru the tights and that, as you said, white men have no rhythm (correct spelling :)). It was quite embarassing. My parents taped one of my performances. I destroyed that tape long ago....

While I am definitely NOT a dancer, I can say my sister IS. She takes ballet, and even teaches some classes. She has been doing ballet for a while now, and while I am not a big fan of it, I am glad she has found a passion in something, and am happy that she is happy with it.

Ok, back to me (I know, I am sooooo selfish)^_^ I am not a dancer in any means. I think the last time I went to a club, I went because I was fiegning over someone. Well, I can say now that she was a mistake -_- but that is besides the point. I tried my best to dance out there (after being begged to dance for like ten minutes straight) and finally caved in. I finally got out on the dance floor and tried my best to . . shake it!? LOL, that is just funny to me. I was basically just bobbing back and forth, shifting my weight back and forth between each leg. . I felt like such an idiot, but of course, she said I was doing fine. Well. . whatever.

The first few times I tried to dance, I have a female on each side of me, grinding throughout a few songs. Throughout all of this, I noticed one thing - people don't really look at each other. Everyone is in their own world and I think they are quite content to do so. . lol. I think the only thing that could get me out dancing again would be a mixture of a beautiful woman, a lot of alcohol, and no one else around for miles (including cameras and and recording items). . lol. . ok, perhaps just a beautiful woman would do it for me if she begged enough. *shrug* I am wierd, what can I say?

Dance? I dont really dance. Im not a fan of this new age dancing stuff anyway. Only thing I do is a little bit of ballroom dancing. I have no dancing talent what so ever.

Most of the dances now-a-days seems like ritual mating dances people do to get funky with a member of the opposite sex. Or same sex for that matter.

o_O?! You people are SAD! MAN, if I couldn't dance I'd probably die. I love dancing. I'm on my school's dance team, and I'm sooooo glad. I took ballet and tap when I was younger, like 3-5 years old, but I had to quit because of money problems. And I couldn't have pursued ballet anyway; I have flat feet, and in order to dance on pointe you need an arch. If you try to dance on pointe without an arch, eventually your ankle will snap. -___- Hence, my dreams are futile. BUT, I love dancing. I would say our dance team does mostly jazz, with lyrical here and there I guess o_O and "funk" as well. ^_^ I LOOOVE funk! ::Goes off and dances to Michael Jackson::

--___--;; NO.

i can't dance to normal music for my life. we need to get some classes up in here or sommat, cause....*shudder*...that's the problem with school dances..... a girl wants to dance im like "uh..". then there's always the slow dance to save my butt, cause that doesn't ake much. course, then there's the whole grind-all-night-long gig that oh so many people attempt(most of them failing)>.<...

If by "dancing" you mean "moshing" or "skanking", then yes. Yes, I do dance, lol. I doubt that is what you meant though.

No I don't really dance. The only actual dancing I do is in the occasional musical I may happen to take part in. I know how to waltz... that's about it, lol. :p

Drag me out on a dance floor, and the best I can do is bob my head. Maybe (if I feel like being weird) I'll put a little effort into it, and then yeah, I dance . . . but however, I dance to my own inner drum . . . in other words, I dance extrememly weird . . . yeah.

I don't dance. I work out, but I don't dance.

geeses,I wish I knew how to waltz,I do not get the 1-2-3 step that goes w/ that though.
It's actually pretty easy, or at least the basic steps are. The choreographer that is teaching the waltz for this musical is throwing in this leg sweep thing. I'm pretty used to it by now though. The 1-2-3 step is really simple. Instead of thinking of it as 1-2-3, think of it as Down-Up-Up. When you first start (if you leading, then start with the left and you're moving backwards at first, the follower starts with the right) Step forward or back depending on which position you are in (this is the "Down" or "1" count), and then for the "Up-Up" just go up on your toes as you are turning to face the opposite direction. Then when you go back to the "Down" beat, you step on the opposite foot then what you used before. So it's like this:

The leader's foot pattern goes like this: Left(Down), Right(Up), Left(Up), Right(Down), Left(Up), Right(up), etc. etc.

Then the follower's footing will be just the opposite: Right(Down), Left(Up), Right(up), Left(Down), Right(Up), Left(Up), etc. etc.

Just remembering on the "Up-Up" is done while turning clockwise (turn over your right shoulder), so by the next "Down" beat you are facing the other direction. Once you get that pattern down, then it helps to keep the count with it.

There is no way I'm going into the leg sweep, lol. That can really get confusing. Words cannot even come close to explaining it. It's not too different from the aforementioned basic waltz, but the footwork must be precise or else you'll end up on your partner's feet. So explaining it would be hard to do. I'm still trying to get totally fluent with that.

I'm wondering if I have to learn the tango...

:p
Yes. Yes, it seems you have! Now that you have read them I expect you to practice, practice, practice! For if I ever happen to meet you, I will ask you to waltz with me. If you don't do it correctly I shall give you a cookie, cause it is probably better off that you just don't listen to what I say to begin with. :p Although if you do it right, you shall get two cookies for actually listening to what I say and taking the time to make sense of it. o_O

I wonder if I should see if I can learn the tango from online...
