Kinetic
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone who is really good at duel monsters could help me with my deck. It is really mixed, due to the fact that I don't have enough of one type of card. I'm thinking about doing a dark beatdown deck, sort of like what Altron put together, but I don't know. Here are my cards: Sacrifice Monsters: 2 Pumpkin The King of Ghosts (probably going to trade) Judge Man Gaia The Fierce Knight Dark Magician Rude Kaiser (probably going to trade) Gyakutenno Megami (definately need to trade, it's fairy) Flame Cerebrus (probably trading, fire) Curse of Dragon Suijin (probably going to trade for BEWD or very strong dark card) Swordstalker BEWD 4 star- monsters Mystical Elf 2 Blue-Winged Crown (probably trading, winged-beast) 3 Ryu-Kishin Powered Koumori Dragon Skull Red Bird (probably trading, winged-beast) 2 La Jinn The Mystical Genie Of The Lamp Battle Ox (probably trading, beast-warrior) Princess of Tsurgi (wind, probably trading) Man-Eater Bug Ancient Elf Castle of Dark Illusions 2 Mystic Clown The Stern Mystic Neo the Magic Swordsman Kojikocy (probably trading) Sorcerer of the Doomed Magic Cards 2 De-Spell 2 Paralyzing Potion 2 Share the Pain The Cheerful Coffin Book of Secret Arts Fissure Tribute to the Doomed Yami Dark Hole Card Destruction Change of Heart Ookazi Monster Reborn Remove Trap Sword of Deep-Seated Trap Cards 2 Ultimate Offering 2 Reverse Trap 2 Reinforcements 3 Trap Hole 2 Castle Walls Waboku Dragon Capture Jar Just Desserts -------------------- As you can see, very mixed and poor. What should I do, oh great ones? :p
Hyper
You need to choose a theme. You have a lot of cards in your deck. Keep it to about 40-50. Way to many tribute monsters. Best should be around five. Monsters? All of them should 1600+ atk points but keep Man-Eater bug. Akk! No Summoned Skull? Defiantly put those in. There good. Whats your theme? What type of magics? (monster removal, direct damage, power up) Traps: Basic beginner trap theme. What every plaeyr should have. 2-3 Trap Holes Mirror Force Magic Jammer 7 tools of the bandit solemn judgement/horn of heaven and a just deserts and robbin' goblin if you like. Kinetic
Thanks, and I have 7 tools of the bandit, but I didn't think 1,000 life points was worth it. I'm also trying to trade for Summoned Skull. Thanks for the advice :)
Genkai
hmm, i'd say get more equip..... a theme is important, but it doesn't always need to be emphasized to a spectacular degree... i have i rough lord of d. deck with a thrown in beatdown and trap force deck, but i have some wild cards too.. get rid of gyakuteno and rude kaiser, plus gaia isn't that good. you need a summoned skull!! you have a lot of cards, you might want to tone it down... a good idea for your deck might be to add in a few get-cards-to-your-hand-and-do-it-fast cards, like pot of greed... see the exodia deck in the yu-gi-oh! secton of theotaku.com...... hope i helped...... maybe you should pm ag, i dunno... Roxie Faye
I'd keep most of your sacraficing monsters above 150 pts; atk or def. A good defence is as important as a good offense. And any cards that have good effects, no matter what their atk and def, put those in. I'd lso keep my ratio of M/t cards and monster cards 1:1, like the rule book suggests. Also, and official deck size is 60 cards. My deck has 60 cards. You really don't need a theme, but if you want one, go ahead. ^_~
Hyper
no actually roxie, the offical deck size is forty.
Roxie Faye
The minimum number of cards is forty, but I do believe the official Deck size is sixty card. But this is about helping Aries with his deck. If you want to Pm me about it, you're more than welcome. :)
Yukazi
It is very important to choose a theme. Exodia decks are made for defensive purposes to be able to draw it out, Until Exodia is chosen. I myself go with a Beatdown Deck. Also, 40 cards is the minumun and the is no maximum. You couldhave 300 cards in your deck, and it wouldnt matter. But, you may wantto go with no more than 80, because it will be a lot harder to draw the cards you might need in a tight situation if you have over 100. Kinetic
I just went through my deck, and it was ridiculous how many cards I didn't need. I still have a little mixture (mostly dark, though), and have 5 sacrifice cards, hoping to trade a few of my cards for 2 summoned skulls. Here's my current deck: Monster Cards 5+ BEWD Suijin Swordstalker Dark Magician Judge Man Curse of Dragon Monster Cards 4- Ryu-Kishin Powered x3 La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp x2 Castle of Dark Illusions (because of the defense) Mystical Elf (once again, defense) Battle Ox Neo the Magic Swordsman Princess of Tsurgi Man-Eater Bug Koumori Dragon Magic Cards Paralyzing Potion x2 Share the Pain x2 Monster Reborn Tribute to the Doomed Remove Trap Dark Hole Yami (probably taking out) Ookazi Fissure Change of Heart (not sure about this) Sword of the Deep Seated Book of Secret Arts (probably taking out) Trap Cards Trap Hole x3 Reverse Trap x3 Castle Walls x2 Reinforcements x2 Just Desserts Dragon Capture Jar Waboku ------------------ Most of my magic cards (if I take out the spellcaster power raising cards) are monster removal, and my traps are still mixed, as well as monsters, but I think it's a little better. Any other revisions? BTW: Thanks for all of the help :)
Hyper
If you want to do a dark beatdown you need to have more of those kind of cards. Having monster removal sometimes goes with other elemental beatdowns,b ut not always dark. Swap Ryu-Kishins for Whiptail Crows (dark/fiend/1600/1600) Dump the reverse traps, you prob won't need them. Well right now with your tribute monsters, I'd take out Sword Stalker, Curse of Dragon, Judgeman for Summoned Skulls. Keep Change of Heart. Always Have the Big 5 cards in your deck: Raigeki Monster Reborn Change of Heart Pot of Greed Dark Hole (optional) Most Dark Beatdowns have power ups as there magic focus. So have the Big Five (or Four) and these cards. Quanity is your choice. But be sure to have; Malevolant Nuzzler Black Pendant Axe of Despair More swords of Deap-Seated One or two Sord of Dark Destruction. If you are going to take out yami, at least have Mystic Plasma Zone.(field/+500/-400) Keep Tribute to the doomed. I'd take out Remove Trap. Have 2-3 Fissures Paraluzing potions and share the pains are your decison cause I'm not usd to them. Monsters. Have pretty much all your monster be dark /fiend/spellcaster Have three Neos and three La jinns. for Koumaori Dragon, Battle Ox, Princess of Tsurugi. And maybe add in a Maha Vairo if you want to give your opponent a big suprise. Its a 1550/1450 spellcaster and gets 500 plus Atk points for each eqip card in addition to its normal effect. Kinetic
Thanks, and I got a summoned skull, but only have curse of dragon left out of those 3, I got another Neo for a Battle Ox, I also got a Whiptail Crow, but can't remember what I traded. Another thing I got is a magic card (name eluding me) that sends the top card in their deck to the graveyard every time they attack. It's been coming in handy :)
