zidane11
All I know is that the show already ended in japan many many years ago. I forgot the date. I think it was in the early 90's.

Transtic Nerve
A comic strip called "Dragon Boy" was first introduced into Comic Book, made by the famous Jump Weekly/Monthly, called Fresh Jump. Go figure. This was made in October of 1983. The story revolves around a guy named Tanton, who doesn't look like Goku, but the inital story is the same. He actually puts alot of these scenes into DragonBall later on. Like the scene where Goku says to Bulma "you have no balls"... originally it was in the Dragon Boy strip. Toriyama did another manga called Topuu's Great Adventure which is sort of similar to DragonBall Z. This deals with the space aspect or science fiction aspect of what we see in DragonBall. The idea of putting large items in little capsules stems from this series. Dr. Slump was the first major manga by Toriyama was first published in Januray of 1980 in Shounen Jump (Shounen meaning a boy's anime, unlike Sailor Moon) and ended in 1984. The TV series for Slump aired in 1981 and went til' 1986. With that over, Toriyama did a new manga, DragonBall. This first appeared in November of 1984 in the Shounen Jump. I'm not quite sure when it ended. The DragonBall TV series began in February of 1986 and DragonBall Z started in April of 1989. Remember that unlike the TV series, the manga was never called DragonBall Z. It was always called DragonBall. The TV series was split into two different names, i dunno why. Three if you count DBGT, but that was never a manga. I hope that answers your questions, it gives a bigger look on the situation too. No I didn't know all of this off the top of my head, I had to do some research, but it's good to know this stuff too, now you can impress your friends.
