For those of you who have played the game, please feel free to share what you think of it. What did you like most about the game? What did you like least? Who was your favorite character(s). What discrepencies did you find between the games viewpoints and the actual belief structure of Norse Mythology. Come! Share your thoughts with me!

I somehow doubt you'll get much of a response on this game...

But anyway, I love Valkyrie Profile. Enix is my favorite RPG company, and anything they do with tri-Ace is usually godlike (as long as it's translated well... Sony nearly killed Star Ocean: Second Story).

There were quite a few things I disliked about it though. The job/skill system is way more organized than in Star Ocean... but at the same time it simply seems useless. You sit there raising levels for skills, which while they help battle somewhat, eventually just get tedious to mess around with. I realize you need to teach characters certain skills so they are ready for the final batlle... But the game doesn't really give you a reason to want to do that since the reasoning isn't really explained for quite a whike... at least not in detail.

What kept me going was gaining all the characters. Each had his/her own story, and some were really interesting. It's kind of like DW7 in that aspect... The game is composed of a lot of smaller stories than add up into one big one.

The battle system's pretty cool, but I found that it did get kind of boring eventually. There is only so much you can do with timing attacks to get combos or knock a monster out. Sure, it's more innovative than other RPGs (it's kind of link Xenogears in terms of fights), but just like Xenogears it somehow got old for me. I can't even explain why really.

Norse mythology wise... I know very little about all that. I found the game interesting, but it never made me compelled to go read a book about it lol. I had read one long ago, but barely remember it now.

Graphics and soundwise... Probably one of the top few looking games on the system. Music is excellent, and for the most part so are the voiceovers.

All in all, I thought it was 50 bucks well spent.

Valkyrie Profile is a refreshing change from a lot of other RPG's out there.

I thought the story was kinda iffy...it didn't seem to have enough substance for me and was confusing sometimes. But the gameplay is where this game really stands out. The battle system was perfect, and the game's *MANY* dungeons are [i]challenging[/i], unlike another popular RPG out there *FF, cough*. Not that I hate Final Fantasy, but their games are getting a little too easy to appeal to the mass market.

This game is all about Seraphic Gate.:D
