Ice cold? the dead of winter. A thick blanket of snow covers the ground and trees. A lone pure white wolf races through the forest. Blood streaks her pure white fur, making her stand out in the snow; otherwise she would blend perfectly.

She races across the land, running swiftly. The trees whiz past her in a brown and green blur. The snow crunches under her paws and leaves her prints, which are quickly covered, in the falling snow. The sun shines brightly as the snow falls.

She races fast as she approaches the edge of her forest home. She sees a log cabin about three miles away. Her sense telling her the occupant is home.

Upon reaching the cabin he doesn?t stop or slow down. She nears the front door and lowerd her head, ramming it?

Once inside she stops and looks at Kredion..

Ryoko: *thought speaking* I am Ryoko Ama?no. I have been sent to fetch you and six others. There is a danger in the forest. You must listen to me? Stay here and I will alert the other warriors and send them here. Please welcome them, and I will inform you upon my return what to do further..

Without waiting for a reply she turned and ran from the cabin. Leaving a stain of blood on the carpet from where she had sat down. Her fur still streaked with it.

Racing again through the forest she was to lose in thought and ran in to someone, knocking him down.

She jumped back and instantly knew who he was.

Ryoko: *thought speaking* Vensir! I was coming to find you. There is a cabin about a mile from here. A guy named Kredion is there. He is expecting you and a few others. I have not time to explain Please do as I say?

Again she took off, running at what appeared to be at least forty miles and hour. Her destination the city of Valis...

She caught a blur of black amidst the brown and white. She stopped abruptly and and turned. Facing the being. Watching the black wings. Staring in its eyes she bows her head.

Ryoko: *thought speaking* Siren.. I am lucky to find you. Yes I know u no nothing of who I am, but all I can tell you is to run quickly and try to follow my tracks, the lead to a cabin not to far from here. Go there and wait for my return, there will be others there and more will join you, the spirits have a mission for us.

With that said she turned and kept running, she could almost see the snow covered walls of Valis.

Her mind raced with the tasks at hand and what she must finish. Also of how was she going to manage to get past Valis guards.

She chuckled to herself. I am a messenger, no mere mortals can stop me?

She paused upon reaching the gate.

It towered above her small-bloodied wolf form.

Ryoko ? (thinking) well? which way in, kill the guards before they see me, break it down, or just walk right in. then once I am in I must find the warrior Fox, son to the great Parn.. Ah yes.. his mother is also one I must fetch?.time presses, I must do what I have to.

She lowered her head and made her way forward. She noticed a break in the gate no human could fit through, but a dog, or, wolf, could.

She squeezed under the gate and sprinted in, the guards only seeing a blur of red and white like a red bird flying low.

She looked up as she ran, the knight?s palace loomed in front of her. She stopped and looked at the windows, then to the front door?. Thinking for a moment she walked slowly up to it and butted her head against it.

To her luck a young man answered it. She watched as his braided sliver hair glinted elegantly in the sun as he looked down at her.

Ryoko: *thought speaking* Hello fox. I am Ryoko Ama?no. You have a quest. Proceed in to the forest of time immediately, follow the trail about fifteen miles back, there you will find a cabin with a few different occupants in it. Await there for my return. Do exactly as I say or you shall regret it.
(she said the last part because she knew of him and if she did not warn he would try to follow her, and that is something she did not need, nor want.)

Fox: Alright.

She turned and walked from the doorstep leaving him to pack his things and get off. Her mind turned with what to do next, and she was already limping. She hoped she would make it to the rest before she died, or stopped to let her wounds heal them selves.

She then decided since she had already made it to Valis she would take the short run to The Forest Of No Return and fetch Deedlit.

So She started off. Her mussels flexed as she lunged forward and kept running, she would be there in ten minutes at this pace, but finding Deedlit, would be another thing..

?Fifteen Minutes Later Inside The Forest Of No Return?

Ryoko looked around. She had been walking for five minutes. No sign of Deedlit anywhere.

She proceeded walking, her blood spilling on the snow, on account of her slow pace. She heard a crunching of footsteps behind her and swung around. Her yes and head lifted as the Elf stood before her.

Before Ryoko could say anything Deedlit spoke.

Deedlit: I know why you?re here. I know who you are. I will go the Cabin in the woods. I have been following you for some time. As well, nothing goes on the forests I do not know about, except for the information you have to tell me and the others you have gathered. I will be off.

She then jumped up to the branch of the nearest tree and disappeared.

Ryoko stood for a moment stunned.

Ryoko: (thinking) I guess I was to deep in my thought to notice her slipping behind me? but how. Never mind, I have but two more to get. I should be off. My next stop shall be to Canterville.

She ran somewhat slower than before, but still she ran, not allowing her mind to linger on the pain.

She entered the city and looked around. She was lucky this wasn?t like Valis with guards and a gate, she didn?t know if she would have been too lucky they have dogs.

She paused as her eyes searched for the home of Karina. The came to land on a smaller home near the other edge of the city. As she walked Ryoko felt uneasy? this city with its computers and lighting, so near her world, she had forgotten she passed a time barrier at the entrance of the city. She didn?t belong there and she felt it, she wondered if Karina would feel the same once she entered the forest.

Ryoko: (thinking) Curse the warped world, all kinds of time barriers linking the past with now?! Why, this isn?t right!..Hopefully our quest will fix this as well?.

She approached the door and looked next to it. The window was open. She decided not to wait and jumped through the pen window and onto a carpeted floor. A girl sat in the corner at a desk, typing away, unaware of her visitor.

Ryoko rowled and the girl turned and almost screamed. Ryoko had hoped for a remark along that line.

The girl stared at the bloodied wolf in shock.

Ryoko: *thought speaking* Well Hello, little mage. I have come for you; there is a task that needs your help. Enter the forest of time and proceed to the farther end, it is approximately thirty miles from here. Ten miles into the forest from your location. I have been told you have a device of transportation called a motorcycle. Please use it and bring anything u might need for this. The more items' u have the better. Do not dawdle, leave post haste.

Ryoko bowed her head and jumped from the indo as the girl snapped out of her shock.

Ryoko races as fast as she could, this final one was a long way off? she must hurry.

She ran along the treeline of the forest until she came to a wall, semi hidden in the trees. It was just as air except it rippled like water. She slowly walked throughout as she found herself in the middle of a huge city. She looked back as the way from which she had come disappeared.

She sighed.

Looking up she looked awed at the tall buildings and cars. She nose darted west as she saw a tall brow bricked building. Her sharp eyes could faintly make out a figure atop it. She set off.

She hadn?t expected to make this much commotion, but everyone noticed her snow and blood covered fur. She neither paused nor turned her head and kept running. Ryoko reached the building and looked up. She pondered how was she supposed to get all the way up there.

She looked to a door that had 3 doors, meeting in the center, it turned around and around as people walked in. she stepped in and kept walking as the walls moves with her. She stopped and ended up right back where she came in. turning she saw what she had done. Laughing at her own foolishness she tried it again and turned right as the way opened to a corridor. She saw stairs against the back wall and sprinted to them.

She didn?t stop till they did not go up anymore, but led to a landing and a metal door. She nudged it open and walked out in to the sunlight. A man stood infront a refrigerator and talked to what appeared to be dead bugs.

She looked him over. .. His hair was long and pulled back in a ponytail, his skin was as light as her fur and his close were black as his hair.

She looked upward and asked the heavens why was this to be one of the chosen. Would he even believe her? She had to try..

She approached him as he turned to look at her, his face showed he somehow knew who she was, and had expected her, but he said nothing and let her speak.

Ryoko: *thought speaking* I do not know why but I have a feeling you now who I am, but I am certain you do know the task that awaits. Follow me and I shall proceed with you to The Forest Of time and greet the others. My Name is Ryoko Ama?no. Let us be off.

He nodded as she walked down the way she had come, he followed her. They walked out on to the city street and turned in the opposite direction that Ryoko had come. They walked at a steady pace for about twenty minutes as Ryoko made a sharp turn down a dark alley. The back wall of the alley appeared to be the same watery wall from whence she had come. Ha paused as he watched her enter throughout it and seemingly disappear. He followed hesitantly.

The emerged from out the other side at the edge of the forest. Smoke rose over the trees signaling the cabin that they were headed to.

Ryoko took off. Running flat out to the cabin, Lacroix running behind. She slowed and finally walked, through the cabin door. The other were all inside waiting, they gasped lightly seeing Ryoko and their final companion. Lacroix walked in and sat down as Ryoko walked to the center of the room and collapsed. Blood still pouring from her wounds.. She looked up as a few rushed to her?

Ryoko: *thought speaking* (sounds like she is gasping for breath) forest? danger?warriors.. Must?

Ryokos world went black as she passed out?

Fox stared out at the snow-covered landscape he had been running across for the last half-hour. He caught up to the wolf he had been chasing. He knew well enough what lay in the Forest of Time because of his dreams. He did not care for her warning, and he saw the blood draining from Ryoko's side. He brought out a bandage roll, but put it back, placing his hands gently on the wound. He chanted a short spell, using his High-elf blood to focus his healing magiks into the wound. As the bloody gash sealed, Fox stood, carrying Ryoko in his arms. He knew all too well who she was, and he was grateful his quest could finally be fulfilled. His longsleeve shirt ruffled in the wind, and Fox began the walk to the cabin. He walked swiftly and surely, as though the wind, trees, and mud were no obstacles to his booted elven feet. He smiled quite broadly as he felt the clear blood circulating in his veins, in his heart. His grin turned to a frown as he stared at his ring finger, seeing the glinting silver band around it. He knew that it was a ring binding him to his mother, wherever, and WHOever, she was. A single tear fell from his eyes as he walked a little slower. He felt the stiffness of his shoulders, remembering that he had been stupid to not let his wings stretch in three days. No matter what he was, it was strange for a High-elf to have emerald wings, child of destiny that he was. He released his gleaming wings, caressing the air with them. As he neared the cabin, he set Ryoko down, stroking her fur softly. He felt strange emotions within himself as he caressed her body, but he shook them off. He felt the ring binding on his finger again, and he remembered his parents' names, Deedlit and Parn, yet he knew nothing of who they were. He stared at the wolf, not knowing that even now he was falling in love. He walked towards the cabin in silence, picking her up again as he did.

Ryokos un-chonshous was trouble with dreams and images. Her mind strried with visions of who had hurt her, the danger, the evil, it all flashed before her closed eyes. Her limp body twitched slightly in Fox's arms.

He did not notice the pack of wolves circleing them and watching his every movemnt. They blended in perfectly, but for the pack leader, a sliver wolf. Their eyes glinted as they kept their distance, watching, making sure their lead female wasn't harmed.

Ryoko's mind still swam, she couldnt think, just watch. She knew nothing of what was going on around her..still she drempt..

Fox set her down gently inside the cabin, on a straw bed. He sat in a chair and walked outside, calm in the air around him. He smiled as he felt the wolves circling the little hut. Indeed, he'd known they were there the whole time. He, himself, had the spirit of a wolf inside of him. He grimaced as he stared at the werewolf's bite scar on his right wrist. He set onto the ground, engaging in a conversation with the silver wolf. he smiled as the wolf acknowledged him, and then Fox called in a silver wolf of his own, a female named Rain...

The bikes motor groaned and whined as it was started. From the sound it made, anyone could tell that it hadn't been used for awhile. She turned her motorcycle off, and went inside, still kind of in a daze. She opened her bag and put in her handheld computer, a electric whip,(...I dont want to know how she got that)a pistol, her disks that held some very dealdy viruses, some food, a first aid kit... the list goes on. With one final inventory check Karina zipped up her bag, walked outside and looked at the house that she had lived in her whole life, kind of losing herself in her old memories of the place. She snapped out of it and locked her front door her helmet in hand. She tied her bag to the back of the bike making sure none of the things she packed were going to fall off. She tied her hair back and put her black helmet on. Trying to peice togther what had happened within the last 15 minutes.

Karina: I think I've finally gone nuts

Sighing she rev'ed her bike up and sped towards the location the colorless wolf had told her to go to.

Deedlit hurried in the direction the Forest of Time was. She had traveled there before, but it was a very long time ago and she was just passing through, but she knew a shortcut to get there faster. It wasn't long before she saw the cabin just ahead of her. She slowly approached it and went inside. Had she gone the long way around, she would've seen Fox sitting outside in the front conversing with the wolves. There was only about one or two people inside the cabin, but she stood against the wall without a word.
Then she felt a weird sensation.
Her heart gave a leap as she looked up towards the front door. The feeling seemed to have passed now, but she was still a bit puzzled. Suddenly her eyes caught the glimmer of the silver ring that was around her ring-finger on her left hand. Her heart sank as the memories flooded back to her. Long ago her son was captured, and she had almost given up hope of ever finding him again. She looked down again as she fought to hold back her tears. She remained silent for several minutes.

Fox stood after a while and walked into the cabin, reaching into his pack for a hunk of cheese to munch on. He looked longingly at Ryoko, still asleep on the bed, and his gaze once again fell onto his ring. Unbeknownst to him, Deedlit watched him, tears in her eyes, as she saw the ring on his finger. He was so absorbed in grief that he failed completely to notice her, and he sat in a corner, crying aloud for his mother. He knew very little that she was in the room, calling silently to the son that sat weeping in the corner. He fell asleep in the corner, seeing vague images of his mother in his dreams...

Kredion stared at the strange bunch and waited for more to come in to his tiny cabin. He must wait for a time to tell them he needed to learn many spells and master the ones he knows.Only true summonings he knew right now was the simple ones... he had hoped to learn more before this time had come..

She was forced to stop when the dirt road suddenly came to a dead end, in the woods. She was about 7-8 miles into the woods, no turning back now. Karina turned the mortorcycle off and took her bag off of the back of her bike. Something didnt feel right, she had had this feeling since she left her home town, she couldnt quite put her finger on it though. Her footsteps made loud crunching sounds in the snow as she walked, there was no sign of Ryoko anywhere, so she kept on walking, she came across a tril of... blood? She recalled the wolf had been covered in it, so without hesitation she followed the crimson trail...

Fox dreamt...

Fox fought valiantly, leaping over an errant axe swung by an ogre. He fought brilliantly to get to a winged figure in the distance, one with a feminine face. She was in pain.

Fox:SIREN! I'll come back to you! I WILL SAVE YOU! I LOVE YOU!!

Suddenly, an axe swung by an ogre caught Fox...

Fox awoke, sweating. He knew not the meaning of the dream. He looked down and found a high-elf sleeping on a mat next to him.

OOC:Egad, when did this start up? Ah well. As with many other rpgs I participate in, don't expect me to remember what I had in my sign up....

IC: Lacroix leaned over the edge of one of his more expensive condos. He absently glanced down, taking in the scene before him. He found his rather eccentric, unpredictable interest quickened. He clarified to a needlepoint of focused intent. Eyesight sharpened into a regard reminiscent of a snake's. Among a teeming populace that surged like a tide below him, one individual was singled out.

Lacroix pulled the trigger of the Barret M82A1A Sniper Rifle he held. His target fell half a second later. Lacroix leapt off the roof, landing on a ledge about five metres down. Despite its width being only inches, he landed perfectly, with a deadly, pantherish grace. A spin and a strike with the butt of his gun stove in the window behind him. Lacroix leapt in, and ran through the building. He emerged 15 minutes later. As the chief police officer called in to investigate the murder.

Deedlit stared in disbelief at Fox. She just couldn't believe it! After looking for him for so long, here he was in this very room!

Just as she was about to run over to him, doubt gripped her heart. This was just too good to be true. She believed her son to be dead or in captivity by some evil creature with no hope of ever being rescued. What if this wasn't her son? What if it was just someone who happened to find or already have a silver ring? Once again she looked at the ground as the tears came even harder, but it was out of grief this time. She resolved that she would have to talk to him sooner or later and find out.

OOC: ACK!! I completely forgot about this rpg! I'm sorry!!

IC:

The door opened and a figure steped in... Siren stood swathed in a black cloak, it's cowel shadowing her face from all but the sharpest eyes... Her wings were tucked tightly aginst her back, hiding her true nature... She reached up and pushed back her hood exposing her white skin to the poor light inside... Her golden eyes swept the room, lingering on the faces of it's occupants... Her facial structure was faintly elvan however she had no trace of elvan blood in her veins... She shut the door and moved to the far corner of with room with a fluid, inhuman grace... In a voice suggesting at the power she possessed, Siren spoke softly...

Siren: Sorry I'm late... I had to wrap some things up...

Fox was carefully sipping his hot tea as he saw Siren walk in. The cup fell to the floor, shattering. His heart skipped several beats, and he allowed his wings to unfurl from his back. He heard the high-elf woman behind him suck in her breath. He vaguely wondered why she did that as he felt his ring glow hot. He shook his hand, hearing the elf gasp again. He looked to Siren and felt his heart stop again. he was falling in love in a more-than-sensible way. He didn't care, but he decided not to speak as he felt the Icari poring over his wings, amazed that someone else had wings.

Deedlit(To herself):My son had wings. Emerald, glowing wings! This has to be him! But... but how can I tell him? He probably doesn't even want to see me. He probably doe-

Suddenly, she caught the tears in Fox's eyes as he spoke to Ryoko.

Ryoko(telepathically):Why are you so sad all the time?

Fox:I lost my parents long ago. I remember their names, but not what they looked like. Parn and Deedlit. Alas, I want my mother so badly. Even though I am an adult, I still long to be rocked to sleep by her soft voice as I never was. To be tucked into my bed, to be held close as I cry over a lost valuable. I want my mother so much, Ryoko!

Sirens eyes widened fractionly, for she had learned to conceal her emotions long ago...

Siren(thinking): I wonder... Who... What his parents were... Deedlit... And... Parn... Hm... Deedlit is an elven name... But... Parn...

A stifled sob sounded and Siren's eyes flicked to the High Elf... No one else seemed to have heard... Her eyes suddenly narrowed and flicked between the man and the elf...

Siren(thinking): Could it be... Impossible... It is too great of a coinceidence... You don't belive in fate... Remember? Still...

She shook her head and looked at the wolf this time...

Siren: Shapeshifter... Why have you brought us here... What purpose must we serve?

Fox managed to take his eyes off of Siren and to stop his chat with Ryoko. He walked out of the hut to feel the clean, crisp night air. On his way out, he saw tears in the high-elf's eyes. Once again, the ring on his finger began to glow and burn. He noticed that the elf, too, had a silver ring on the same finger: the left ring finger. He stopped walking outside, and his eyes met hers. Her emerald gaze was the same as his own. He gasped.

Fox:Madame, i...is your n...name D...Deedlit?

Deedlit:Y..yes it is. And yours....is it F...ox?

Fox:Mother!

Deedlit:Fox! Dear God, I thought I'd never see you again!

Fox:And I thought I'd live on through the end of this earth without ever knowing my mother's warming love.

deedlit:Just one question, Fox. Did you mean what you said earlier to Ryoko? About being tucked in and rocked to sleep and such?

Fox stared uncertainly about the room, noticing the kind laughter behind everyone's eyes. He blushed as he spoke his next words from his mother's embrace.

Fox:Well...yes. But I did forget to add that I wanted to hear the lullaby from my dreams, the one from my childhood, the one that you always sang to me before...before Rhita Gawr decided to steal me from you, decided to try to make me evil. But he failed, mother, and I am still your son! I love you, mother.

Ryoko-I gladly accept your assistance, for we will need all the help we can get. I have much to tell all of you once everyone is gathered.

Siren looked at them and smiled... It was nigh impossible to find emotion as pure and untainted as this... These days everything was poisoned with hatred and greed... Siren started as she realised that she was soping wet... She grumbled and unclasped her cloak, tuging it off and bundeling it up... She'd dry it later... Siren then turned to the Karina

Siren: Most of us would like to know the same thing...

She nodded to a seat in the corner...

Siren: Why don't you come in and shut the door...

She shivered, sending a ripple of movement through her wings...

Siren: Sit down... And ask Ryoko, the wolf that probably came to get you, to tell us...

Siren nodded to Ryoko politely and sat, drawing her weapons and cleaning the moisture from them

Fox was absorbed in his tales with his mother, telling her how he'd become the captain of the Valis guard, how he'd found and defeated the last of the Cave Trolls, and how he'd always felt a loss with each of them, for he never before had had a mother to love, a mother to tell of his accomplishments. Then, as he began to get drowsy, Deedlit began humming the lullaby again, rocking him to sleep as if he were a small child. He drifted into sleep again, dreaming...

Fox leaped onto the platform. He pulled one arrow from his quiver, nocked it, and let it fly to its mark. The ogre fell, releasing Siren's wing. Fox darted down, picking up the unconscious form of his mother, Siren hobbling over to lean on his shoulder. A great gash from an ogre's axe bled just over Fox's heart. He kissed Siren as they moved on towards the rest of the party, who'd been sleeping inside the cabin the whole time through the attack. Or so he'd thought, for when he entered the cabin, a scene of battle unfolded before him. Wounded and hurt was everybody, but the goblins and orcs lay on the floor, all dead. Though none was as gravely hurt as Fox was...

Fox awoke, wondering what the dream could mean. He thought it was just a dream....but then he heard the ogres. The sound of Ogres, Goblins, and Orcs marching in a battle pattern. And Fox, Siren, and Deedlit were the only ones awake. Fox grabbed his sword, letting Deedlit and Siren make their own decisions. He stopped to whisper to Siren as he walked out the door.

Fox:I can't bear to die without telling you. I...I've fallen in love with you, Siren. I love you.

He walked out as she stared after him, sadness and joy mixed in her eyes.

A torrent of emotions washed through her at the same moment, creating a current so strong it threatened to pull her under... Rage, sadness, disbelief, pain, love, hate, regret, joy, fear...

Siren: I... Love you too... Fox...

It passed in a single moment and she leaped up, and followed them out... She drew her swords, the steel shining dully in the faint morning light...

Siren: If you die... I'll go into death to bring you back...

She smiled at him and turned, feeling the famillar lust for battle begin to dull her senses... She wiped one of the semitairs on the inside of her arm, giving the blade a taste of what it hungered for... She repeated this prossess with the other sword and then the strange ritual was complete... The bleeding stoped and the cuts healed... Siren unfurled her wings, letting them catch the breeze...
