Zidargh Posted October 6, 2002 Share Posted October 6, 2002 Alongside SM:S I bought Onimusha 2, and I tell ya, this is a hugely excelling game. I love it! The relationships with other warriors differ depending on your attitudes and gifts towards them, and such a moving game. I love it. To anyone who has not got this game, I would recommend you get it now. Graphics are great, storyline is great as it mentions the past Samonosuke. I thurally enjoyed the first one and thought it to be much more that RE with swords. I didn't even Onimusha 2 was out yet though. Unfortunately, while these exciting new features you mentioned are apparent towards the start of the game, they slowly disappear later on. What you're left with in the end is almost a rehash of the original. Since I found the first Onimusha to be overrated, to the point where I sold it, I would classify the sequal as a rental at best. Hmm, if it is not that good I'll just trade it in for Kingdom Hearts when it appears in he UK. It's kind of boring after the secound play through though if you didn't get a secreat mode which enables you to have infinite everything. I really liked it overall. Figuring that the original was a best seller, and the fact that I've yet to play it, the sequal seemed interesting to me. Not interesting enough to buy it, mind you, but perhaps rent it. Quite frankly, the main character is anything but helpless. Like Dante, in Devil May Cry, the protagonist in the first Onimusha had supernatural powers. In order for a game to be survival horror, I feel that the main character should be at a significant disadvantage. If the main character in Onimusha 2 has that gauntlet, then he's at a significant advantage. Even if he doesn't, the game is still very much action oriented, with little emphasis on scrambling to find items... But remember, that's merely my take on the situation...
