What did you other Otakus think of this film, from my review below I didn't think much of it

Review
This was a disappointing sequel to a great film, the action in it was too matrix/crouching tiger like and very unrealistic. The effects were good but the story line was also nit as good as the first, I mean vampire genetic engineering, I thought Vampires cant drink each others blood and yet the reapers went crazy on them. In closing a disappointing sequel

The only thing I didnt like about the movie was that the CG battle scences were done very crapily(nice word huh). Other than that I thought the Reapers were kick arse. "I thought Vampires cant drink each others blood and yet the reapers went crazy on them." THe Reapers aren't Vampires. THeir transformation is just like that of a human to a vampire, but instead a vampire to a Reaper.

It's based off a comic book, why is it supposed to be realistic. :p
While the first Blade was better, Blade II is a great movie none the less. ;)

TOO MUCH WRESTLING!! The final few fights had way too many wrestling moves in it. I really couldn't bear half the crowd cheering and hooting at any of the moves I was watching. It was really embarassing *sigh*

I also sound off about the CG battles being absolutely horrible. I don't know what they were thinking with putting that stuff out. The actions were too fast and stiff to be considered real, and when people fight, I never knew they lost like 30 pounds -- they looked like twigs!

I prefered the first Blade over Blade II. The music was better, the action was better. I loved Steven Dorf in the movie. He was a really awesome vampire. I loved the whole idea with trying to shove out the old and replace them with the new.

If anything I didn't like about the first movie, it was that Blade seemed to just rip through everyone. There was maybe one or two fights that gave him any trouble. *shrug* back to Blade II

I liked the idea of Blade getting help from his enemies. That was pretty awesome. I wish the battles resulted a bit better then they did. It seemed that they just put them in there so that the 'good guys' would lose some of their numbers. The evil mutated vampires were a bit too powerful, though I did like how it seemed that they lost any humanity that they would have normally had.

I was lucky enough to watch Blade and Blade II back to back, for the first time... I'd never seen either of these movies, and I've heard great things... I loved the first one, it was awesome. But Blade II was kinda... Different. Almost Alien-esque. There was that cool guy with the Moko (face tattoo) and the big Axe though. That was a plus.

The CGI fight at the beginning, where Nyssa and the other guy come with the message of peace was really fake... they were all skinny and lanky, and eurgh...

And yes, they did have too many wrestling moves at the end, but I still really liked that film.

Besides, any film with Donnie Yen (Snowman) in is fantabulous

Extra novelty points for having him in..

The Reapers remind me a lot of revenants... They are more or less the same thing. I thought the idea was interesting though.

I didn't go expecting anything but a somewhat decent action movie, and that's what I got. I was content lol. I will admit the fighting CG was really lame. Even more annoying was that some of the actors in the movie are known for their fighting skills... which weren't shown off in the movie at all for some reason. It took the backseat to fake Blade acrobatics.

Personally I enjoyed Blade II more then the first one, for the way the movie and reapers were set into play. Though I agree the film had too many Wrestling moves in it which made it a bit akward. I have to give off my hat to the CGI it was pretty good, yet you could still tell it was in fact CGI. Overall I would rate Blade II as a B- the originally Blade is still better with an A- rating.

BTW: Has anyone heard rumors of Blade III in the works?

I thought they were both excellent. They were exactly what I was looking for - gore and violence, and one bad-assed mother hero ! But I'm gonna agree with the majority, 1 was better than 2, but the idea of the Reapers was fantastic.

I've heard rumors on Blade 3 supposed to be featuring one Gambit from the X-men, and a possible X-Men / Blade crossover movie, and maybe a Spiderman & Daredevil one too. A complete Marvel-fest ! I've dismissed these as complete bull myself (as much as I wish for them to be true), because for the time being, it's soooo far fetched but I thought I'd post so if anybody wants to look it up . . .

Hmm in anything I would have expected Blade to team up with SpiderMan in a movie, since they already have in the comics and animated series. As for the X-men and other crossovers I looked those up but nothing.

I like Blade II quite a bit, although I must agree the CGI enhanced scenes of Wesley Snipes were done poorly and appeared to be rushed. Action seemed to be the focus for this one, instead of an 'in depth' storyline like the first.

I love the part with the modified flashbangs, hilarious.

Blade III is supposedly going to be set in the future, where the vampires have won and Blade must fight to overthrow them once and for all. Blade II was much better than the original as far as action and development are concerned. I laughed when the sidekick betrays Blade and get blown up. But how did Blade trick him the first time? Did the thing have a trigger or was it just a fake button pressing? Anyway, the wrestling move were actually kinda funny. I thought it was a bit predictable to have the Reaver as the king vampire's son. Was I the only person who noticed the resemblance before hand?:P

While I did not notice the resemblance between the father and son, I did figure that they were related for storyline reasons. It just made sense. Father screws up, and decides he better cover up in stead of coming clean. The biggest thing that upset me was when the daughter sort of just gave up when fighting her brother. Why? I know her family was dishonored and all, but I don't think that had anything to do with HER. Just something that upset me, because two seconds later, here comes Blade to the rescue O.o *sigh* Oh well, I suppose they just couldn't leave a 'love' interest alive for Blade (though, I would like to know what happened with Blade's first female friend. . *shrug*)
