:mad: My French 4 teacher just told me to shut up today,the reason she told me to shut up was because I told her that I didn't understand her method of teaching, I can be a very rude person at times so I told her to shut the f*** up talking to me. Was I right or wrong for doing that?:confused:

when you're in school, teachers rule.
Well, each teacher has their method of teaching, as long as the students understand the material. You're kind of rude to speak to your teacher that way. However, if the teacher doesn't make the students to respect him/her, then it's part of the teacher fault.

While in school, your rights = 0. If you have a problem with a teacher, talk about it privately with the teacher after class. I don't think she would want you interupting class for something as trivial as this. Also, swearing at her will get you absolutly nowhere.

Do you think most teachers actually enjoy teaching all of the time? I know I wouldn't. Don't be so rude, if you don't like a teacher's teaching methods, get a different teacher of the same class or just live with it.

You know, it takes absolutely NO intellegence to cuss. So you just proved to us, the teachers, and the other kids in your class that you are a total idiot. How ya feel 'bout that?

And yeah, if you don't understand the methods, no need to get your panties in a bunch becuase the teacher told you to shut up. She could have been having a bad day, for all you know.

I kinda hope she fails you for doing that . . . ^^;;

Two wrongs don't make a right. I think that would go along with the discussion. Just because they had a disagreement doesn't mean that he should be failed.

Definitely an unwise decision, young grasshopper. Did the teacher really say shut up? Or was it something to that effect? I can't imagine a teacher actually saying those words unless they were on friendly, joking terms with a student.

I'm sure you'll learn your lesson from this one.

I wouldn't be surprised at a teacher using "shut up". What really worries me is a) cursing at the teacher and b) the manner of approaching the situation. Apparently you told the teacher you didn't understand "her method". A better phrasing would be "Ma'am, I don't understand how one would use the subjunctive. I understand how to form it, but I didn't get where to use it. Could you please explain that for me?". If you have a real problem with the teacher's method in general, speak to her after the class NICELY. My friend says that his Algebra II substitute doesn't teach anything but just puts an example and assigns homework; he ought to ask the teacher "This is all new stuff for me, and I'm having trouble getting it. Could you explain it slowly for me?"

I disagree with Son Goten. I just got into high school this year, and I know am on very good terms with the teachers and have quite a few rights. Being nice can get you far. If you have a positive reputation, teachers will respect you and give you enough rights. (Last year, even I was in middle school French II (didn't take it in 7th grade), I was allowed into a French III class for a few weeks to prepare for the Fr. I + II credit exams. If I had offended my teachers, either the Fr. III teacher or my PE teacher would not let me do this.)

lessee here... I used to be teacher's pet during elementry... and last year...

During sixth, I had a teacher that was a total *****. She would yell at us if we couldn't see the board. She said our eyesight was bad, when it was her handwriting that absolutely sucked. I heard she got fired this year...

This year.. it's kinda tough... my english teacher is chinese.. and she speaks hella fast... but she's pretty nice. ^_^
As long as you... do the extra credit work, that is..

Math teacher? mood swings. One minute she's smiling, the next, she's tearing up your paper telling you to do it over... - -
She also has a favored girl in our class. She only calls on her, even when the whole class raises their hand... so whenever she raises her hand, all the rest put their hands down, since we all already know we don't have a chance... - -
She also heard the favored person, helen, say 'shut the f*** you -something headed something' and she wasn't punished..
A boy she hates for some unknown reason... she heard him say 'stupid' and she gave him an 'f' in citizenship.

My computer teacher... ah yes... He looks just like don knotts.. ^^;
and sounds like him... with a terrible cold... but it's actually kinda funny. ^_^
He's nice 2/3 of the time, and is just annoying the rest.

Obviously.... 8th grade doesn't have muchova jump-start so far... but I'm sure it'll work out soon. ^_^

This same kid eailer in the year drew a big penis on the wall in perminent marker. I think the teacher sould have said more than shut up. lol

But two negatives = a positive :D. That's not what you ment...:p

When ever I don't understand a teachers way of teaching, I just ignor it and ask someone else or just try working it out myself (I always do this in math class and it works pretty well.) I've never been the type to argue with a teacher. The only teacher I've accually had problems with is my media arts teacher... well, she's not exactally my teacher but she sometimes watches over the class. She alway's seems to pick on me. I go on the internet AFTER my work is done and she gives me a warning. It's not fair cause others that haven't gotten it done go on and she an't say anything to them... Another time (later in the same day)I was helping a friend with her picture and the teater writes my name down for "walking around for no reason" (and by the way, there were ten others doing the same). I don't get it... This happens almost every secnond class I have with her. Sometimes I get mad at myself for not saying anything but what am I supposed to do??

...I just quit...

P.S. zidane11, I'm trying to send you a pm, but your inbox is full... do you think you could maybe empty it?

I just got annoyed but it surprised me.

My Latin teacher did it as a joke once, but I'm sure she didnt mean. The hole class couldnt stop laughing.

If I were the teacher, I would be sort of offended, because I am kind of sensitive to those swearing words. :cussing: So, I'd say that it was wrong. But I didn't have any of those experiences before. I guess I must be an :angel:. *sigh* Almost. I never :cussing:.

I didn't curse at her because she told me to shut up, it was the fact that I was already mad because one of my friends brother got shot.

Now I told you not to cuss at her. This teacher that he is talking about, I had a class with her. And you know that you were kinda wrong on your part...you shouldn't cuss at her because of that. You shouldn't cuss at her period. She is the teacher and she holds the pen in her hand and can fail you any time. So respect her...even if you don't like her...;)

Cursing at a teacher is wrong, be it for a good reason or not. Teachers here at my school are often told what they can do with their homework and detentions, but sometimes the kid may have a good reason in their mind to curse at them, just as you thought you did. You should have done what Son Goten said, and waited until after class to discuss the problems you had with the way she taught. Acting ignorant gets you nowhere PDQ.
